And I mean A LOT. But if you’ve ever seen #SundayWithTheWeavers, or spent any time around us, you know we also make quality time with one another a priority. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Recently, I’ve begun receiving questions on how we’ve gotten so much done in our young lives (I’m 44 soon, he’s +5) and continue getting so much done in the midst of all the various world challenges, while maintaining a life we truly love and consider incredibly blessed.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Sooooo...don’t know if this will answer those questions...but I thought I’d at least share our weekly schedule. With the exception of our current 3-week #WeaverWorkcation (whereas we rented a house in GA for working during the week, enjoy cocktails every evening around 5:30pm, and then travel to a new GA coastal city every weekend for a 2-day vacay), this is our normal schedule. ⁣**SWIPE LEFT**⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ As you can see, we work six very full days, but we rest on the 7th. That’s the piece I think a lot of entrepreneurs forget is so important: rest. Keith and I very rarely struggle to come up with ideas (I can’t recall when we ever have) or to problem solve, and I suspect, that has to do with the fact that we take rest seriously; giving our mind and body a break every night and on the 7th day of every week. It’s our way of doing everything we can with excellence, while also acknowledging there is a Higher power at work and we want Him to renew our minds daily/weekly. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Pinning this post for the next time someone asks me, “How do you accomplish so much?!” Here ya go! ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ The crazier the world gets, the more focused we become, as we refuse to waste a single moment God has given us. I can’t believe this made the NYT. I can’t believe some women felt like they needed to consume a product to fit in or feel better about themselves. Please use your money to focus INward and not outward for approval. They couldn’t stop themselves after experiencing symptoms??! The idea of just eating whole, single-ingredient foods wasn’t enough that you have to take down a woman’s character, business, the employees, and brand? There are much worse things to focus on in this world. . I have diary intolerance so I don’t eat anything with dairy. If I eat, I will bloat and it will be painful. I don’t consume products with it. F-factor powders contain Whey (dairy byproduct). I use Vega Powder or Olly instead which is plant based with low cals and carbs so it follows the same principles outlined in the book. I don’t like red meat. It makes me feel sick. I don’t eat it... so simple. Salt and alcohol makes me bloat so I limit consumption to weekends when I dine out. I HATE apple cider vinegar so I will not put it in anything. Listen to yourself!! . I prefer clean, vegan plant based products if it is not a whole food. I’ll reach for a NoCow bar over Quest bar if I’m in a pinch- sure. Doesn’t need to be organic fruits/veggies all the time - there is no big difference unless you want to shame those RD’s and nutritionists too. Why haven’t we attacked Keto or Atkins? No one is suing FitTea for explosive diarrhea and hemorrhoids to females with body dysmorphia?? Read labels, understand ingredients, how it was created, and learn your body’s intolerance to make YOUR own decisions. . Real food at the end of the day is your best friend. Fiber is amazing for you health and repopulating your gut biome. In return, you lose weight for taking care of yourself. It rids all the toxins you hold on to. This power of information made me healthy and finally regular 💩 after 29 years... in return I lost weight. Tanya preaches this in her book after many years of being a clinical dietitian. At this stage we have not fully assessed the damage, we do know that our sheds, some equipment and the fruit from this year has taken a big hit but most importantly our cellar door and winery staff are safe and we should be able to recover our vineyards for future vintages. Today our team are out clearing the land and watering down the trees to ensure there are no further fires. We wish to give our sincerest thanks to the CFS who have worked tirelessly to save our property (as shown in the second image) without them the damage would have been much more severe and we cannot thank them enough. Update from the field: A check in on the addressing program! ⁣ ⁣ First and most importantly, Dalene is still a superstar and she’s still showing us all how it’s done.⁣ ⁣ Secondly, if you’re new to our page, hello! After registering thousands of voters on the Navajo Nation, RUP embarked on a project to assign “plus code” addresses to every resident on the Utah portion of Navajo Nation. With these plus codes, residents can register to vote in the correct location, receive emergency services, and utilize an address for small businesses and more.⁣ ⁣ In March, the world changed as the COVID-19 pandemic forced a full freeze onto our door-to-door field programs. While Dalene and our field team are currently engaged in our voter registration program, we have full intention to resume and complete the addressing program when it is safe for our team and the broader community to do so. The addressing program has an immense educational and installation competent, and it’s important that we be able to have safe conversations with residents. ⁣ ⁣ In the meantime, Dalene is working to safely install and troubleshoot addresses at high-priority locations until we are able to fully re-launch the program. She’s also staying plenty busy reinforcing our voter registration team in Arizona, and our other community projects in San Juan County.⁣ ⁣ Thanks all for following the stories of our hardworking staff! Time flies... Today was my boy Logan’s first day working at Lake Effect. I can’t believe he is old enough to work at the shop, and even better, he has his sister Loren to train him. One of the reasons Erik and I started Lake Effect was to have something for our families. A place for them to work, a place that they could take pride in, something that meant something to them. Way back at the beginning I wanted this to happen but could never really envision it because it seemed so far off. When we started all of this my kids were six and three. But now both of my kids are working at the shop. I just kind of quietly hung out and took this photo when they weren’t looking, but I hope they know how proud their dad was to see them working hard together today. Wow wow wow wow the shop of my dreams is finally coming together piece by piece. When thinking about the space we really wanted to make it as close to the original industrial architecture it was built to be in 1951. During demo we salvaged shelving made from French oak (fitting right?) floorboards. Then the incredible @dustyn_ellis redesigned and installed them perfectly back into the space to carry our future shop wines. Some super-sweet news dropped yesterday while I was off-grid in the Sequoia’s getting a desperately needed recharge in nature: ONE OF US IS LYING was picked up to series on Peacock. It’s not my practice to write a tome when a project I’ve cast gets picked up. Don’t get me wrong, I am always elated when a pilot I’ve worked on is picked up to series and am equally disappointed when one isn’t, or a series doesn’t get another season. However, after months of isolation in quarantine this news was different. It was like a big sploooosh! from one reality into another where I was reminded of what large chunks of my days had been devoted to doing pre-pandemic, pre-dissolving of Zane-Pillsbury Casting. And I was so happy. Whenever I cast a pilot, particularly one w/a younger cast, I tend to feel like their Mama Bear, fiercely proud and protective and this group, well, they’re quite extraordinary. When an ensemble of actors fall in love with each other this joyfully, match each other on passion, work ethic & professionalism, exhibit true friendship & support for each other from DAY ONE you just pray it gets picked up knowing how rare that magic & chemistry is. My proud Mama Bear has kicked in full-force. They are so deserving of extending & exploring their work in these characters. I am incredibly thankful to @ericals @mgroesch and @sacchijohn for trusting me to cast this pilot & treating me, @stpattykid71 & all the actors who auditioned with respect. For listening, for lively creative conversations, for your insight, openness and humor. I am thankful for @jennifermorrison who I first met (thank you @gaklein) when she was considering moving to LA from Chicago fresh out of school, for being a visionary director w/a thoughtful and confident creative voice who knows how to talk to actors, how to extract the best from them, who SEES them. I am thankful to have collaborated once again with my friends, the ever-talented Vancouver Casting Directors @clarkandpagecasting who fleshed out our ensemble w/blazingly gifted Canadian actors. I’m Katya, born in Eastern Europe, studied at the University of Oklahoma, a licensed Interior Designer. Modern barbershops are cool places, and stepping into one can make you feel like you’re part of a special club. A lot of people love that, but the experience isn’t the same for everyone. The same environment that makes some feel special can make others feel awkward or unwelcome. Even for the people who work in barbershops, the environment can sometimes feel toxic. The three co-owners of downtown Dartmouth’s newest barbershop hope to change that. Robyn Ingraham, Courtney Whynott, and Madison Ingram recently opened Devoted Barbers and Co (@devotedbarbers). We decided to develop a logo that brands its operations and as a result developed a typographic logo with four hidden features. In the logo, you will notice that the letters p,o,h and e have an extra sharp edge space in their counters. These represent the streaks of high speed. Secondly, the letters p,r,w,h and l have sharp backward pointing edges at the top which represent tyre grip. To be fully transparent, I lost my excitement for this project the moment we went into a pandemic. The conversations I kept having with myself were all negative. “Now is not the time.”, and “If we open we’re going to fail.” Also “Your abilities are not good enough for a project this big.” I forgot my WHY. Why? This is how I show up for myself. There’s so much I want to accomplish in my lifetime. So my girls grow up knowing they too can do anything. Times are weird, but nevertheless life is happening. The very nature of life is uncertain. The natural order of life is risk and reward. The last thing we need is to play small.
