This is the moment it hit me. The moment it all just seemed so real. ⁠ ▪️⁠ ▪️⁠ ▪️⁠ 📻 Without any live, in person gigs scheduled in the near future, this week I returned to the airwaves, the Internet airwaves that is. I am grateful for the opportunity given to me by Lee Lowery and hist TTT Radio Network to play 90 minutes of music for, at the very least, a virtual audience. ⁠ ⁠ Because of the entire entertainment and event industry vanishing temporarily, I missed an opportunity to play in Las Vegas. And I started thinking of the time I played in Seattle, San Francisco, New York, Vancouver and all around the amazing venues in San Diego. 😞⁠ ⁠ But here I was, in my garage. A place Ive spent countless hours building equipment, troubleshooting, learning and practicing to be a better DJ. Ive DJd here before, but never like this. My biggest audiences were my dogs laying on the floor and my family listening inside the house. ⁠ ⁠ This time was for real, but in a much different way. The audience, mostly my friends; texting me in real-time words of encouragement, praise and even a few requests. ⁠ ⁠ I was playing music from the 90s, a time I hold dear because those were my formative years, my high school and college years. A time (relatively speaking) of little responsibility and a carefree attitude. ⁠ ⁠ I sat there, while Mazzy Star played, remembering when I played that same song 25 years ago, in a tiny, only-room-for two-people, college radio studio; my whole life ahead of me. ⁠ ⁠ And I had to wipe away a tear. 😥 Was I right back at the beginning? ⁠ ⁠ In a way, yes. ⁠ ⁠ Life, for now, is right back to where it was when I was playing 90s music in the 90s. ⁠ ⁠ Unsure. Uncertainty.⁠ ⁠ I always feel when our hands are forced, we have two choices. Do our best work, or fail. I think this is that time. Its time to choose to flourish or fold. ⁠ ⁠ Yes, it sucks right now. The first two sets were for chest and the last two were for back and the third one was for both, so you could it was kinda like a transition. Hoy arranqué una nueva aventura, un desafío hermoso. A partir de octubre, voy a estar de lunes a viernes a las 14hs. en @canalencuentro como conductor de @seguimoseducando, en la sección para jóvenes de los últimos años de la secundaria.  Me recibieron 10 puntos y pasé una tarde genial con todo el equipo. Me daba un poco de miedo sustituir al gran @dsztajnszrajber, que estaba antes de mí y que es tan groso, pero me hicieron sentir tan bien que ese miedo se disipó enseguida :-) Una intimidad: las grabaciones son el predio de la ex ESMA, donde funcionó el campo de concentración de la dictadura militar en el que fue torturado y asesinado mi tío Cristóbal Gogó Russo, papá de mi amado primo Fran. Pensé que estaba preparado para el impacto emocional que eso me causaría, pero uno nunca termina de prepararse para esas cosas. Al entrar al predio no pude contener las lágrimas; estaba solo, me tomé unos momentos para homenajearlo en mi pensamiento y pude luego sentir la alegría de estar ahí, más de cuatro décadas después, con un proyecto que me entusiasma y con la enorme carga simbólica de estar contribuyendo con mi grano de arena, allí donde antes se torturaba y asesinaba, para que la educación y el mundo sean un poquito mejor. - @andresrieznik on Instagram

Нашу с Николаем Голиковым @decaprox совместную работу «Симбионт» взяли в программу фестиваля Архстояние-2020 @archstoyanie , за что спасибо лично куратору Антону Кочуркину @kochurkinanton и директору фестиваля Юлии Бычковой @julia_bychkov , что захватили нас месяц назад в фестивальный поезд-экспресс, идущий на полной скорости, увидели в работе отклик на тему этого года «Лень» и оказали поддержку. И куратор выбрал для нас замечательное место на территории Никола-ленивца — павильон функционального мычания — домик с двойной крышей. Что в моей голове начинает забавно заходится с нашей работой и темой фестиваля. Так получилось, что идея зрела у Николая давно, но воплотиться в формате work-in-progress смогла только к фестивалю «Подготовленные среды 2020: Технология и правда», инициированного сообществом @soundartist.ru при поддержке Музея современного искусства «Гараж», который по понятным причинам будет представлен в виде документации выступлений (кстати, ждите видео от команды профессионалов во главе с @pvkling в конце августа — начале сентября). «Симбионт» о сознательном доверии, о переплетении программ и человека. О становлении программы частью человека и человека частью программы. Об изящной созависимости. Теперь, буквально через неделю, мы стартуем с новым вдохновением и идеями для «Симбионта». Clinic update! Fall quarter started 2 weeks ago and its been go go go ever since. We didnt have a break between summer and fall so I ended up having 8 clinic shifts in 9 days which was exhausting. And my shifts were in-person this past week and whew, they kicked my butt! I was so sweaty my face shield kept slipping down over my eyes. 🙈 BUT I learned so much this week. Some of the highlights were creating a natural treatment plan for anxiety, recommending antibiotic and natural therapies for a UTI, identifying the source of someones hip pain, and adjusting an upper back. I have three clinic shifts this term and a preceptorship with a naturopathic doctor in the community, so there will be lots more stories to come but for now, Im going to enjoy my day off from clinic and make some pancakes 🥞 Do you have any questions about naturopathic clinical education? INT. INTENSE TRAINING GYM - DAY This is the first commercial I worked on that shot on film. It is amazing how technology has allowed us now to shoot on film if we wanted while still being able to see some sort of live video feed for the director, the clients, 1st AC (focus puller), etc. . What I learned was that, compared to shooting digitally, if you shoot on film, you need to rehearse A LOT until you get the move right, then roll. Because the film roll is money. I already knew that, but great to see it in practice. Practice makes better.
