I’ve been walking around for the last two years with a fractured bone in my shin.⠀ ⠀ Before finding out this information I was told;⠀ -to exercise more⠀ -push through the pain for it to get better⠀ -that it was all in my head⠀ -that I should continue working 40+ hours a week on my feet⠀ -that I was depressed (note: depression should be taken seriously but does not cause bone pain in the leg)⠀ -that I needed to try harder⠀ -that this is a common female problem that will go away ⠀ ⠀ I remember hating myself so many days wondering why I couldn’t walk or exercise like I used to. Feeling lazy for not making it through an 8 hour day on my feet without wanting to sit on the ground and cry.⠀ ⠀ I thought I was crazy but really I was trying to push through an undiagnosed injury. I went to countless doctors to try and explain myself only to be dismissed, until I sought out an orthopedic specialist who listened and is still working with me to help determine if this was caused by an underlying bone issue.⠀ ⠀ If you are struggling with pain keep asking for help until you get it. If you have a friend who doesn’t have answers believe them and keep fighting with them. If a diagnosis doesn’t feel right feel free to question it and reject it. I am so excited to share that Next week @lovelocalnorthernrivers with the Northern Rivers Business Collective is starting the @sourdoughbusinesspathways pre accelerator program for 8 weeks with @ash_camm_ and so many fantastic mentors. I have diverse experience across different industries which certainly helps with collaboration with businesses in Northern Rivers. I have 23 years experience in the aquatic Industry, including running swim schools with over 40 swim teachers. I also founded @ballinaswimschool in 2019. 10 years retail experience, including 4 years in London managing outdoor stores, assisting with product development and our store winning store of the year, highest like for like and I was a finalist at Retail Week magazines Manager of the year back in 2006. 5 years working in safety, 2 of those years was working with a refrigeration company with service and install, the next 3 was in mining including BHP, Downers on a RIO site and BGC. Very interesting working nickel, construction of a haul road and iron ore sites. I have also taught martial arts and founded @ballinakidsfitness January this year. IMPOSTER SYNDROME. What a freaking jerk 🖕🏼 At some point in your life, youve probably felt that sneaky, slimy imposter syndrome sneaking up on you. And probably when youre least expecting it. 😭 Its one of those things that a lot of us dont like to talk about because we may feel like it shows a sign of weakness in ourselves or business and it can be uncomfortable and REAL humbling to admit. But the truth is that I and EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. of my clients and industry friends have felt this at some point or another in their business journey. And I feel like we need to be talking about it more. 👈🏼 Ill be honest. Ive felt it hard in my business and life these past few months. Especially during these last few weeks when Im getting ready for a bit launch. What once started as excitement, motivation, and starting my days off with a lets do the damn thing! have now turned into thoughts of doubt, second-guessing myself, and thinking no-one is even going to care about what I am putting out in the world. Why am I working so hard at this? 😫 Can you relate? Although I dont believe that imposter syndrome ever really goes away(why????), I do believe that there are things you can do to help avoid it. Here are a few things Im working on that may help you too: 1. 🛑Stop scrolling. Start focusing on YOUR product and service and how it is going to help others. Comparison is the biggest trigger for IS. 2. 👌🏼Focusing on having an abundance mindset VS scarcity mindset. This takes time and practice. 4. 📕Listen to podcasts or read books about imposter syndrome. Learn about WHY it exists and what triggers it in your life. 5. 🙋🏼♀️Openly talk about it. This has helped me AND others the most. Anything Im missing? Im all ears right now! Place 🌍 ‘My absolute favourite photo is me in front of Sagrada Familia. Spain will always have a special place in my heart. It is the first place I traveled to by myself. I studied abroad and lived there for a year after I graduated. I was really able to dive into the culture. I lived with a host family, learned Spanish, and my true passion for travel was developed.’ 🌍 We all have that first time of discovering a place, by ourselves, for ourselves. Het was vroeger gebruikelijk dat overledenen met hun voeten naar het oosten en hun hoofd naar het westen werden begraven. Fysisch antropologisch onderzoek kan misschien uitwijzen wat de reden hiervoor was. 🕵️♂️ Was er een epidemie en moesten mensen snel begraven worden? We weten het (nog) niet. Aan het onderzoek werkten leden van de Archeologische Werkgroep Haarlem e.o. mee. Zij assisteerden Archeologisch Bureau BAAC. Last night we “pulled the trigger” as they like to call it in the IVF world. Which means we’re currently on the way to OKC & the egg retrieval is tomorrow morning. Continue reading for what happens next 👇🏼 The trigger shot as mentioned above is HCG, allowing the eggs to release. Right now I’m a bit swollen, waddling like a duck, and am taking my physical activity lightly. I’m physically feeling exhausted and endlessly tired, but mentally I’m prepared and ready to just do this damn thing. I will be undergoing anesthesia, and the whole process will take around 30 min by the time I’m out 😴. What sucks is Kyle won’t be allowed in the building at all, thanks Covid 😒 So what happens next? As soon as the doctor retrieves the eggs, the embryologist will immediately perform ICSI - which is where they inject 1 (single) of Kyle’s sperms, into each individual mature egg. Hence: fertilization. So, our children (God willing 🙏🏼) will technically be conceived tomorrow. Weird. After that they will watch them in a lab for 5-6 days, and see how many of them will turn into actual embryos. 1 week from today those embryos will then have an individual cell taken from them, and the cells sent off for genetic testing. Side note - when a cell is taken from them, they’re breaking the outer wall of the embryo which is what increases the chances of identical twins 👯♀️ 👀. The genetic test has been made specifically for Kyle & my DNA 🧬 , looking for the specific cystic fibrosis mutations that we are carriers of. It will take 2-3 weeks to get the results back. Though I make a lot of eggs, the numbers will dwindle quickly. Here are the many steps and how it went last time 👉🏼 - 37 (roughly) eggs produced - 24 eggs retrieved - 21 were mature enough - 12 fertilized - 8 of the 12 embryos made it to day 6 & were sent off for testing - 6 of those 8 had cystic fibrosis - 1 of the 2 left had abnormal chromosomes - 1 baby boy 💙 was healthy & CF free, which was the one we transferred in May, but it did not implant. Thank you again for all of the love & prayers. Right now we specifically need prayers for the end result to have a higher number of embryos that are CF free 🙏🏼💕💙 - @doitlikedani on Instagram

La Sala de Exposiciones de la Casa Estación nuevamente los invita a recorrer de manera virtual una nueva muestra artística, la que podrán apreciar a través de nuestras redes sociales Quintero + Cultura. En esta oportunidad les presentamos una muestra de obras artísticas denominada “Esculturas de papel” cuya temática está centrada en la figura humana en el contexto social actual de nuestro país. La materialidad para el diseño es siempre papel reciclado, fundamentalmente es papel de diario, aunque en ocasiones se emplea otro tipo de papel, pero siempre con la idea de utilizar material reciclado. La técnica utilizada es el resultado de un trabajo de aprendizaje autodidacta a la que llegó el artista luego de trabajar, aprender y experimentar con la ancestral técnica del Papel Maché y la italiana, Cartapesta. Jorge Faúndez Cornejo, quien en el año 2005 viajó a España donde comienza un camino autodidacta y de búsqueda en el arte experimentando con la actuación y la participación en pequeños vídeos. En medio de la crisis española, comienza a explorar la escultura en papel. Tras una serie de exposiciones en diferentes distritos de Madrid, logra exponer en algunas salas de la capital hispana y en 2014 en Italia en la ciudad de Lucca (La Toscana) es seleccionado para participar en el marco de la VII versión de la Bienal de Arte, Cartasia, 2014 donde se exponen trabajos exclusivamente realizados en papel y sus derivados. A su regreso a Chile ha retomado su trabajo centrado en estudios que indagan en el cuerpo y las emociones en el contexto social actual. A look back to 2014 when I was helping with some repair work on the Cabinet office. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The outside was damaged when a crane collapsed on the roof during high winds. Thankfully it happened early in the morning and no one was injured, the enormous hook smashed some paving slabs and damaged the exterior but thankfully nothing else. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We took moulds of the existing carvings and cut away the damaged sections before offering up new pieces of stone. Once those pieces fitted well we took them back to the workshop to carve on the detail. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Such beautiful carving on the building, great to be so up close to see the detail and the amount of work which went into it. Ich war letzte Woche erkältet und merkwürdigerweise sehr emotional, weil ich so ein Bedürfnis nach mütterliche Liebe hatte. Ich meine behaupten zu dürfen, dass man schneller gesund wird, wenn man die Hausmittel der Mutter - so wie man es als Kind gewohnt war - anwendet. Meine Mutter hatte immer geschimpft, wenn wir krank wurden🤣. Aber wieder hatte sie recht, ich habe nicht aufgepasst: Ich habe nicht auf mich aufgepasst. Ich hatte kein Bedarf an irgendwelchen Tees. Zum genesen brauchte ich eine eine warme „Tarhana“ Suppe von Mama und wie sie Ihre Hand über meinen Kopf und Körper streichelt und dabei ohne zu ermüden den Quran auf mich rezitiert. Ich hoffe, dass ich auch meinen Kindern und meiner Mutter einmal alles geben kann, was ich von Ihr empfangen habe. Denn von Ihr habe ich gelernt, wie das Leben funktioniert und man sich am besten darin zurechtfindet. Elephanta Caves Humans and caves have a very unique bonding which goes back to prehistoric time. It was the Buddhist and Jain architecture which Introduces cave technology In India. The earliest cave of India is Barabar caves which are dated back to 3rd century BCE. The golden period of cave architecture was 2nd century BCE to 2nd Century CE. During this time a lot of caves got constructed across India. In Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Orissa etc. we can see the example of cave architecture on a large scale. Cave building in Gwalior happened till 16th century as we can see the gigantic Jaina sculptures and hero stones there. Elephanta is a small island near Mumbai. The earliest dating of the cultural sequence can be dated back to 2nd century BCE. A Stupa is located near Cave number 6 and seven on the topmost portion of Hill. The stupa is made of brick and the size of the brick is pretty much similar to Kushana bricks of the Northern part of India (Even the stupa at kanheri contains similar brick (Satvahana period brick ?). We headed to a meeting place where they have re-created the ancient human tracks that record moments in the lives of Aboriginal people who travelled across a claypan around 20,000 years ago. This is the largest known collection in the world of such ancient human footprints. Because youve all asked...this is how a french canadian girl that didnt speak great english met a blacktown boy that happened to play NRL. . So you already know we met at Coogee Pavilion. It must of been a bye weekend because a few of them were there but me and my friends couldnt care less because we didnt know NRL. (Fun fact: I always thought rugby was a bit non-masculin considering the lenght of the short they wear😅... I was a big hockey gal. As in ice hockey! Thats pretty much the only sport we know in Canada) . A friend in common led to us sitting next to each other. Thanks to his best mate recently getting married to a canadian girl, it got us talking... we added each others on social media the next day. Thats when I realized he was half a big deal 😂 (I did google him after that ahah) . I left Sydney, travelled all the way up to Cairns, then down to Perth through Uluru. Went back to Canada, because I was a bit homesick, and as I got back to Coogee we randomly ran into each other. It was a sign, we needed to at least go on one date. (Did I mention I did think he was pretty damn hot🔥) . Beach burritos was our first date, real fancy hey! But I never looked back! Thank god destiny put this man on my path because he makes everything better! He allows me to be fully myself and support me in everything I want to go ahead with [like starting an art business😂]. He still corrects my english and he always know what I mean when I say weird words that dont even exist. . I am not going to get too cheesy there because he will be hating it but hands down the best human I know. The ruins you see next to a mosque in picture 1 and the broken structure in picture 2 are the remains of the Multan Sun Temple, one of the most ancient Hindu Temples lost to time and destruction. It is presently situated in Pakistan. Multan was originally called Mulasthana, where the Sun god Lord Surya chose to reside according to the Skanda Purana(pic 3) and later Sri Krishnas son, Samba, built Him this temple by the Chandrabhaga river according to the Bhavishya Purana(pic 4). Much later in Harshavardhanas time, the Chinese pilgrim Hiuen Tsang records the splendour of this temple, housing a gold idol crested with dazzling gemstones (pic 5). This temple was called the Golden Temple of Hind and Sind. However, when the Arabic invader Muhammad bin Qasim attacked after 700 AD, he sacked the prosperous temple and looted 1320 mounds of gold including the idol (pic 6). Later, Ibn Akasim hung cows flesh on the idol to humiliate the Hindus, and they had to surrender 1/3rd of their income to save the temple, from Alberunis account (pic 7). The temple was destroyed in 986 AD, but later worship began again with a wooden idol with ruby eyes by 1130 AD (pics 8&9) from the Moroccan Al-Adrisis records. Embrace uncertainty. Some of the most beautiful chapters in our lives won’t have titles until much later. 🖤🖤🖤 Spent the majority of our weekend soaking up the last moments of summer & preparing for school to start tomorrow. We get 18 summers with our children. 7 of 18 are gone just like that. Bittersweet. 💫 This school year is going to look incredibly different. Truly, it’s something none of us have faced in our life. I’m praying for all of the parents, whatever choice you’ve made, that your children stay safe & protected. ❤️ As Jackson starts first grade, I pray that God watches over him, protects him, helps him be a light & to be courageous as he grows. 🙏🏼 P.S. So this just happened...... I thought I was fully engaged in a conversation with my coworkers... smiling, nodding my head, direct eye contact, etc. My mind was somewhere else because I blurted out “Alcohol” dead ass middle of convo and had to play it off. This got me all worked up. No one else seemed to notice. They continued with their small talk, while I was mortified. The shame and guilt took over. I laughed it off but really wanted to cry. I pulled out my “tool box” and took a small walk, got some sunshine, contacted a sober friend @the_sober_sisters, did some short breathing exercises and then laughed out loud. Early sobriety can be so confusing and full of so many different emotions. Some days I’m on my pink cloud and other days I don’t know if I’m coming or going. I’m finally comfortable reaching out when needed and embracing “this too shall pass”. Today my friends is one for the books!!
