Ein Nachtrag zu gestern: Phönixgeschichten sind toll, alle wollen sie hören. Weil sie den klammernden Glauben transportieren, dass alles gut ist und wird, wir das im Grunde schon richtig machen, nur ein paar Verbesserungen hier und da und dann haben wir die Postpostmoderne aus dem Bilderbuch mit universeller Gleichheit und Gerechtigkeit. Ich erzähle immer mal wieder aus meiner Geschichte, die beschissen war bis vor ein paar Jahren. Aber es geht deutlich beschissener und der Unterschied ist, dass viele Menschen in den Situationen bleiben müssen, aus denen ich flüchten konnte. Denn ich hatte irgendwie Freund:innen gefunden, die, obwohl genauso mittellos, halfen. Einen Partner, und wir wissen beide nicht, ob es ohne den jeweils anderen gut ausgegangen wäre. Wir haben uns alternative Strukturen geschaffen, das machen alle, die können. Bis heute kennen wir diese ein oder zwei Leute, die am Existenzminimum leben, aber sofort das letzte Hemd geben würden, wenn wir anrufen und sagen, du, es ist gerade scheiße, wir wissen nicht, wohin sonst oder was tun. Weil sie genau wissen, wie das ist. Und umgekehrt, dass wir auch da sind, wenn die Hütte mal wieder brennt. Viele von ihnen haben auch mental zu kämpfen und ich bin nicht hier, um mich selbst zu feiern und zu sagen, guckt mal, es geht doch alles mit genug Arbeit und Willen und den Glauben an sich selbst. Ich bin hier, um zu sagen, all das nützt dir mal überhaupt nichts, wenn du nicht einfach Glück im Leben hast. Die richtige Familie mitbringst oder Leute zur richtigen Zeit triffst, die dich nicht fallenlassen. Der Schein einiger Phönixe lenkt von dem Gestank des Systems ab, das erst so viele Verlierer:innen produziert. Niemand tritt von Geburt an für diese Stellen an. Ich will nicht blenden. Ich will zeigen, was die Probleme sind (nicht nur auf dieser Ebene*) und werde darum nicht müde, bei jeder sich bietenden Gelegenheit auf Patriarchat und Kapitalismus zu verweisen und wer mir da aus sicherem mittelständischem Hafen mit naivem Gutmenschentum kommt, die:den bitte ich manchmal höflich, manchmal aber auch nicht, die eigenen Privilegien zu checken, bittedanke. ❤️ #wortzumsonntag - @mehralsgruenzeug on Instagram

Very old photo but it’s truly been ages since I last straightened my hair. Part of that has been growing to love my natural curls (and finding products that bring out their best), plus a little laziness in just how long it takes to properly straighten my long, thick and curly hair. Aaand now it’s even harder as I got out my GHD to discover, in true 2020 mood, it’s given up. Kaput. It’s not THAT old but it’s out of warranty so I’m looking into replacing it. That’s where you come in: I need all your thick hair straightener recommendations! Ideally, I’d prefer not to spend a huge chunk of money as I don’t use it often (and lets be honest any Dyson price is truly not an option rn), but happy to invest a litttle more for performance and durability if I can get a fair few years out of it like the old GHDs! Fur and satin muff for my independent study. This muff was created using rabbit fur stenciled to look like bobcat, cotton backed satin, polyfill batting, and grosgrain. There is a pocket inside the muff which I don’t have a photograph of, but it’s big enough to hold a cell phone and a wallet and some secrets. It’s difficult to photograph a muff by itself while still capturing the dimensions/intent of the muff, so here are some pictures of it with me.
