Hello Fam ! First of all I thank each and everyone of you who joined my live yesterday, despite the Insta glitch and to the ones who said that they would love to hear me more with such lives. Lots of love to all♥️ I am really glad that @lovee_bookss_ has nominated me for #beforebookstagram challenge. So yea, lets get started. . . ✨When did you start reading? Reading wasnt my cup of tea until I found peace in it. Roughly I began reading in 10th grade, and seriously by +2. I read every random book my eyes met with but not fully😜. I would admire the cover read a few pages and keep it back. But yes, in 12th grade, I took it seriously and started reading. . . ✨My first Book: Yes, Alchemist by Paulo Coelho was my first Book. I know for a beginner its quiet heavy, but I did it well. To know whether things got into my head, I narrated the story to few of my friends and wrote important points from the book (like we used to do in academics😂) . . ✨I got my recommendations from : Obvio, Im not a library kind of person. I want books to be mine. And secondly also importantly, I came across wide range of books from children fiction to bestsellers and thus helped me develop my reading and comprehension span. In the spirit of ending our @Kickstarter campaign with a bang, were thrilled to be sharing some big news! Weve been promising to share this announcement since we reached 400 backers, but that number was quickly surpassed and we were in the position of needing to catch up to you all. Enchanted Lion is pleased to announce the launch of a new imprint called Unruly, which will create space for stories that defy the rules and exist outside of the existing classifications of age group and genre within the childrens book world. We believe that the possibilities for the illustrated book are larger than these classifications, and have seen firsthand through our many years of publishing books in translation that picture books from other countries and cultures dont always fit neatly into them. Unruly will be a home for illustrated books that reflect on and respond to complex and subversive themes, and therefore may better suit older readers. The first title published under Unruly will be THE TRUE STORY OF A MOUSE WHO NEVER ASKED FOR IT by Ana Cristina Herreros and Violeta Lopiz (one of the illustrators of beloved title THE FOREST alongside Valerio Vidali). Last week, Violeta shared a preview of this conceptual and visually stunning tale, which explores themes of gender identity and feminism, here on our Instagram. We look forward to letting this book, and future titles, unfurl into an unabashed and glorious self under Unruly. Here, you can see the logo as it will appear on title pages and spines (special thanks to @eumiel and @heytheredasha for inspiration and design). We are so excited to be sharing this new endeavor with you, and hope that you share in this excitement! This is my buddy Rickey Gates. He does some pretty incredible stuff like come up with Run Bus Run adventures and running every single street in San Francisco. But one of his craziest that he came up with was to run across the US, but in his own way as only Rickey can. It was 4 years in the making but his film Transamericana drops tomorrow! Read his quote below and see the bottom for when and where. Can’t wait for this!! ・・・ “When I entered the desert after three months of running, it became immediately apparent that everything about my day needed to change - otherwise I simply wouldn’t make it across the vast expanse of heat and dirt. To avoid the mid-day scorching sun, I took to waking before dawn and running until noon at which point I’d seek out a cool place in the shade. I learned to love sleeping and resting in the culverts beneath the highway as they were easily 15degrees (fahrenheit) cooler than the road above. As the sun made its way back towards the horizon, I emerged from my den to continue running into the night. This small adaptation made me love the desert. It allowed me to see it in all different types of light. It encouraged me to think and act more like an animal rather than an overly ambitious human. Hello everyone 👋🏼 During lockdown I got alittle bored and started creating jewellery. At first it was all for fun and to have a couple new pieces for myself but why not turn a hobby into a side hustle. 🤷🏼♀️ I am based on the south coast, so pickup and drop off are available to the south coast lovely’s. I can also post, I will be asking the customer to pay for shipping cause I’m keeping the jewellery at a low price. Why pay $50 for something that cost not even half that to make 😂 They are all one of a kind hand crafted pieces unless you want a custom order exactly like another piece. Some of the pieces are very delicate and need to be handled with care so please remember that. [Pollux] This is my take on a Matterhorn Logo for Hotel Pollux in Zermatt. Obviously most of the brands related to Zermatt use this iconic mountain as their brand mark. REAL TALK. Consistently creating content can be physically and emotionally exhausting. ⠀ Showing up every day and being in a state of creative flow isnt always easy, and some days, it feels impossible.⠀ ⊹⠀ Over the summer I felt like I was stuck in a complete creative rut. I felt like I had no ideas about what kinds of recipes and photos to create for my blog @choosingchia. I felt drained every time I needed to photograph anything. I felt uninspired anytime I sat down to edit. Im telling you this because I want you to know that EVERYONE experiences these feelings and that its OKAY to feel this way. If you ever feel stuck or like your in a creative rut, I see you. ⠀ ⊹ I want to share a few tips of what I like to do when Im feeling this way that may be helpful to anyone who has experienced this in the past, or is experiencing it now.⠀ ⊹ 1. Take a step back. Its okay to take some time off. Sometimes you need to let your brain relax and recharge before jumping into things again⠀ 2. Get involved in activities that disconnect you from your regular routine. Spend a weekend hiking in the mountains, take a new class at the gym, go try new restaurants with friends. Spend time living and experiencing the creativity the world has to offer you.⠀ 3. Be kind to yourself and express gratitude. Dont beat yourself up if youre not feeling like youre in a state of flow.
