Happy Grandparent’s Day! Today Bowie, my parents, and I got to visit my 103 year old Aunt Dorothy. None of us have seen her since March (my Dad saw her daily before covid) so this visit was a big deal for everyone. Her community set up visiting stations where you could talk on the phone through a plastic covered window for 30 minutes. I am so thankful for the people who work in her community for taking such amazing care of my Aunt Dorothy and for setting up these visiting areas. I am also so thankful that my Aunt Dorothy has really been a grandparent to me my whole life, but especially after my Bubbie passed away when I was 12. I am so lucky to have/had such amazing women as grandparents. And- it wouldn’t be Grandparents day without celebrating both sets of Bowie’s grandparents who love her so much and always prioritize their families over all else. - @alliesbest on Instagram

RECOVERING PERFECTIONIST . this post is kinda following up @chloe__chamberlain ‘s recent story about waiting to pursue things until she felt she was good, skinny, old, _______ (full in the blank) enough As someone who is one of the biggest inner critics (seriously 😅, ask my friends or family) - I’ve lived this way and can relate so strongly to that. There were so many times I turned away or down incredible opportunities or ideas because I didn’t feel ready or enough There were times where I turned away or self sabotaged incredible relationships because I didn’t feel I was deserving enough There were times I stayed home from events or activities, because I was cutting myself up internally, knowing everyone knows me as someone who values health and wellness, & I didn’t believe I looked “fit enough” There were so many times I didn’t show up for myself by being grateful for the able body and wise mind I have been blessed with, because I was so concerned with externally playing the part The part or role that had so many lines to memorize and actions to do, it was actually impossible & a daily set up for failure and defeat Being able to understand that defeat and how impossible and “perfect” my standards were, allowed me to meet myself where I was at. That discovery allowed me to realize how unrealistic and crazy that is... If I we would never place those expectations on others, why would we consider setting that in place for ourselves?? Recovering from that, it’s been a journey of blossoming into a woman who is learning to confidently walk in her purpose, accept those blessings that come my way & continue to set myself up for the future I desire... & I promise that can’t happen if you don’t believe you are not enough, and it all starts from finding your worth and value in the eternal, not external✝️ - @brunettebarnett on Instagram

Postpartum recovery was rough for me. I truly never thought I would see the day where I would be able to work out or not cry at the sight of Ryaan. (Yes, I was super emotional and proudly own it. Owning the emotional spectrum of postpartum and not brushing my feelings under the rug is what has helped me heal). To be honest, I never really KNEW what postpartum recovery was really like until I went through it. I had friends who told me how it was and I spoke to moms in my office, but until you go through it yourself you don’t really know the extent of the physical recovery involved. 9 months later, I am reflecting on my postpartum recovery having had a C-Section. DISCLAIMER: CONTINUE READING ONLY IF YOU LIKE BEING IN THE KNOW. For the record, I did have a C-section and then another surgery a week later due to complications, so perhaps my recovery was different than most, but I think it’s important to be honest about the recovery since some women never know until they are deep in it. ✔️If you have an epidural, you may feel on cloud 9 the day of the delivery. Pain? What pain? I felt no pain the day of the delivery even though we went through a traumatic delivery. 24 hours later, that pain kicked in full throttle. ✔️Stay on top of your meds to help you poop. Constipation IS NOT YOUR FRIEND postpartum. Warm prune juice was amazing. ✔️There will be vaginal bleeding regardless of C-Section or vaginal delivery. More than you probably thought there would be. If you feel its abnormal, talk to your care team. ✔️The pain with C-Section can vary woman to woman, but don’t be afraid to take pain meds. You just had major surgery. If your care team dismisses your pain, ask to speak to the nursing manager. I had to because my pain was dismissed. ✔️Utilize help postpartum. I never realized just how much you need your core to do EVERYTHING. Getting up in the middle of the night was hard initially. I had to rotate to my side and use the support of my nightstand to get up. If you have help, utilize it. Especially in the first month postpartum. CONTINUED IN COMMENTS! Since baby girl was born I haven’t really taken a lot of pictures of myself. To be honest I haven’t felt the cutest while being on the brink of exhaustion, unshowered, no make up, hair a mess, and living in baby stained PJs! Trying to give myself time and grace as my body and mind are recovering from the huge amount of work it’s been put through. Giving birth was the most challenging yet incredible experience of my life and honestly still amazes me every day when I think of what my body was able to do! Now nothing else matters and nothing compares to my love for her. This may not be the best photo of me but it IS a pretty accurate representation of how things have actually looked for me and shows the reality of post partum life which many don’t discuss or put out for others to see. Pure exhaustion with pure love 💕 still can’t believe I’m a mom! 🥰 . Getting slowly back into exercise has helped me tremendously and is my ideal form of “self care” how do YOU self care? What a week it has been. Yesterday our team hit the largest revenue week in team history . A current team member had one hell of a freaking killer week and I couldn’t be happier for her. I trained a new team member that I could cry of excitement of how excited I am to watch her grow and succeed . Our fearless leader was nominated yet again for another well deserved award. And I personally hit my largest day of revenue , ever. 🙏🏽 ✨ Yesterday I ended my day in a bathing suit , poolside in the sunshine, with one of my best friends (and our pretty awesome guys 😏)full of so much dang gratitude. Reminding myself of all the positives in the midst of such a chaotic time. I know how uncertain times may be . This picture represents so many things to me. First, let me say its super dope and it got my good side. In this business you have to be able to help people and love what you do! We had a seller appointment that had three other investors to compete against (that we knew of); someone was literally yelling through the screen door that they would offer 5K more than our offer. However, the buyer still chose to do business with us and we had so much fun with it, we even brought alcohol to the appointment (funny story).The best part of all is that we solved a problem and did it with a smile. Its crazy that when you keep pushing forward even when you feel like you are being pulled in every direction that you really see things for what they are and can create the best version of yourself. Consistency, surrounding yourself with those that genuinely care about you, and letting your true self shine can make all the difference. I am a testament of this. I still have so much room to grow as a man, father, husband, and in this business. This year has been challenging for all of us in so many ways and it’s no secret that I’ve had my fair share of ups and downs. Being in the spotlight since I was 17 has given me lots of highs and low’s. As you all know I’m judged for everything I do and at times it’s taken it’s toll on my mental health. I made a decision to get help and also to start looking after my physical health too.
