The first look of my “Memories” collection recalls when I was a little girl and my mom made several jumpsuits for me, making me a big fan of jumpsuits still today. The sleeves and back panel are hand-woven, using an ancient Chinese weaving process called “Silkworm Weave”. This is a very unique weaving technique, where one thread serves as both the warp and weft, allowing a beautiful swaying motion as its wearer walks along resulting in a stunning visual movement to its overall look. The back of this jumpsuit has single welt pockets which are functional as well as ornamental, with its big decorative loops. Moreover, the buttonhole choices may be interchangeable, giving a different dimensional effect. As a child, I loved hiding and taking refuge in my grandma’s traditional Chinese pant legs. Which were very widely cut. Therefore, it only seemed natural for me to include a wider cut in this design, perhaps to enjoy that same nostalgic feeling of my childhood. With the lake being dried and dewatered, the lake bed is accessible. She rattles off a string of names of plants she has foraged to sell on the street. Of what remains they will cook and eat. For her, the lake is generous and continues to provide. The synopsis of the submissions to NGT by Monitoring Committee states that heavy metals in Bellandur Lake silt/ sludge samples are way beyond permissible limits. With a lake that has had industrial effluents, raw sewage and urban run off for years, that is expected. BET had warned BDA and others when it was proposed to give the sludge to the farmers. The toxic chemical would find its way back to the city through the food cycle. Frank Leder und wir stellen unser Hemd im Brot auf der @positions.artfair von heute bis zum 13. September im tollen Flughafen Tempelhof aus. ⠀ ⠀ Die Idee kam Designer @franklederofficial bereits im Jahre 2004. In Kollaboration mit unserem Haus und Hof Bäcker @brotwerk hat er sie für uns nochmal neu aufleben lassen. Genauso wie das Hemd im Brot ist auch der verwendete Stoff ein wahrer Frank Leder Klassiker: Dieser stammt aus einem abgelagerten Bundeswehrbestand an 70er Jahre Bettlaken, die Frank irgendwann mal aufgekauft hat. Mit ziemlicher Sicherheit handelt es sich dabei um Baumwolle, obwohl die Webart an zartes Leinen erinnert. Die Knöpfe hat Frank in seiner Werkstatt mit schwarzem Tee eingefärbt, damit sie zur cremigen Farbe des Hemdes passen. ⠀ ⠀ Gesagt sei noch, dass man das Brot essen und das Hemd anziehen kann, natürlich nachdem man es bei 40 Grad gewaschen hat. Einige seiner Kunden bewahren das Hemd im Brotlaib jedoch als Schaustück auf, um es für lange Zeit bewundern zu können.⠀ ⠀ Gehe auf unsere Homepage (LINK in BIO) dort findest du mehr Informationen zu diesem ungewöhnlichen Projekt. ⠀ ⠀ ---⠀ ⠀ From today till 13 September we display our shirt in a loaf at @positions.artfair at @flughafentempelhof. ⠀ ⠀ Our favourite Berlin menswear designer Frank Leder first came up with the idea of baking a shirt in a loaf of bread for his 2004 collection. In a new collaboration with Florian Domberger he’s breathing new life into his old classic. The shirt is made from 1970s Bundeswehr bedsheets. Frank is fairly certain it’s 100% cotton, although the weave is reminiscent of delicate linen. In keeping with Frank’s traditional approach to his craft, he has hand-dyed the buttons in tea to match the creamy colour of the shirt. ⠀ ⠀ We might add that theoretically you could eat the bread and wear the shirt, after washing it at 40 degrees of course – unless of course you’d prefer to keep it as the wonderful artefact that it is. ⠀ ⠀ Check out our homepage for more information. A criação de logotipos e de identidade visual ganha força e espaço devido ao processo artístico artesanal que torna o diferencial do trabalho dela. “Quando um cliente me procura, aciono uma escuta ampla para os seus desejos e projeções e através do briefing vou criando possibilidades ajustadas com a técnica escolhida. Paper shoes & coffee stains ~ These last couple of days have been extremely taxing (mentally & emotionally). So much so that my overall health was greatly impacted. I used the moment to examine how my hands translate my feelings, and thoughts into a work of art. This is how the shoes turned out. At first, I thought vibrant colors, and less details. As the rough days hit me like ocean waves, however, there was a need for more details, and no color. Reflecting on it, I realize I wanted deep silence that color would not give me...to say a lot without saying too much. I wanted the mind to imagine possibilities without any distractions. Then, I stained them with coffee, because I always connect it with some form of pain and suffering in my work. Im happy with how they turned out, and even more happy to have this kind of therapy. I am learning on this journey that its alright to be a little vulnerable, and share that every now and then.
