This has taken place near two environmentally protected marine ecosystems and the Blue Bay Marine Park reserve, which is a wetland of international importance. Experts say, the damage it will do is going to be huge and long-lasting. I am a little late to this, but... Most of y’all already know that I’m a small business. The reality of being a small business owner means that I am not only a book binder, but I am also the designer, a production worker, a bookkeeper, a one-lady social media and marketing department, the website department, communications department, truck driver, set builder, sales person, team leader, and the list goes on and on, truly! I also am blessed with two full-time female employees, and sometimes a third. They totally rock, and do make my life easier.. they are AMAZING!! I couldn’t do this without them! And when I’m late to post something like this, it is likely that the bookkeeping department was demanding my attention more than the marketing department that day! So many hats!! I am incredibly lucky that I was able to secure a PPP loan recently (thanks to my small credit union in Austin, UFCU!!) to help keep my little business afloat for a short period of time. However, most of my friends in the art world were not as fortunate! It is so vital that we remember which businesses really make our lives more joyful, more colorful every single day. A lot of those small businesses are arts related! Please remember to support those little bitty businesses! Our lives could become very monochromatic otherwise. Love y’all! Stay healthy out there! As we wrap up our COVID-friendly physical festival for 2020, we need to take a moment to appreciate the team working tirelessly behind the scenes for months to bring the festivals return to fruition. This includes sorting and boxing produce, then stacking the completed boxes of produce onto pallets. Tomorrow is #OrangeShirtDay. Wearing an Orange Shirt is meant to recognize the harm done to residential school students, and show a commitment to the principle that every child matters.  When Nadine McRee thinks of Orange Shirt Day, her kokum immediately comes to mind. “She spent 13 years in residential school, but she could always find the good in life,” McRee says about her grandmother, who passed away last year just two weeks short of her 100th birthday.  “I like to take the day to reflect on what she must have gone through, and what so many of our Indigenous peoples went through at residential schools. I give thanks for the resilience many of our Indigenous peoples still exhibit.” McRee is the project director for the new AHS Provincial Indigenous Health Hub.  A member of the Saddle Lake Cree Nation in the North Zone, she worked for many years on the Tallcree First Nation in Northern Alberta, and she still maintains many of the friendships that she created there. “Being in the community really opens your eyes to all the additional challenges and barriers many of our Indigenous peoples experience daily,” she says. “I may be living in Edmonton now, but I still think of the youth there and the extra challenges that they have in front of them. How can I make things better? How can I improve health outcomes for our people? We need to make some major changes.” It’s something she likes to discuss with all Albertans. “How many First Nations or Metis Settlements have you been to? Within an hour of pretty much everywhere in this province, there’s an Indigenous community,” McRee says. “Get to know our people. La recette : ~versez 500 g de carton plume noir dans un saladier ~ajoutez y 50 g de scotch, 30 g de liège et 20 g de plastique transparent. ~mélangez le tout en insérant au fur et à mesure, des bandes de tissus ~versez 1 L dimagination et de réflexion ~et pour couronner le tout, saupoudrez le tout de 2g de poudre végétale. ~enfournez pendant une journée entière à150° ~et voilà ! Congratulations to Pattonville High School seniors Kertina Tamirat and Griffin Wick who were surprised today as this weeks @phscareer Class of 2021 Future Ready Pirates. College and career preparation coordinator/counselor Ms. Michelle Luraschi and intern Ms. Cherae Bullard presented them with a traveling yard sign and a small gift. Both students have attended several college planning workshops via Zoom.
