🥺TIMIDEZZA E INSTAGRAM STORIES🥺 Ieri, per il compleanno del blog, vi ho parlato di quanto fossi in realtà tremendamente introversa e timida e di come fosse impensabile per me all’inizio parlare di libri in rete. Alcuni di voi mi hanno scritto mostrandomi solidarietà e confessandomi, allo stesso tempo, che non riuscite a mostrarvi nelle stories.⠀ ⠀ I motivi principali sono:⠀ 1- Imbarazzo e ansia da “prestazione” e di questo ne parlerò in un altro post per capire come superarla.⠀ 2- Paura del giudizio altrui. ⠀ E sono emerse in particolare due domande comuni “Cosa può pensare chi guarda i miei video?” “Mi prenderanno in giro i miei amici?”⠀ ⠀ Posto che se i vostri sono VERI AMICI non vi giudicheranno mai, al contrario sosterranno le vostre passioni e vi sproneranno nel raggiungimento dei vostri obiettivi.⠀ Non lo fanno? Bene, non sono vostri Amici. Semplice. ⠀ Chiunque quando si espone su un social (visto che è uno spazio-virtuale pubblico) può essere sottoposto al giudizio altrui.⠀ Chiunque quando cammina per strada (visto che è uno spazio-reale pubblico può essere sottoposto al giudizio altrui (MARONN MA COME SI È VESTITA QUESTA OGGI?)⠀ ⠀ Sono due situazioni paragonabili? As I enter into a new, exciting direction for 2020, I need to exit 2019 with speaking my truth about DimepieceLA. I‘ve felt the need to share with u guys that I never wanted to halt the brand, I actually had plans for it that I was really excited about. I wasn’t able to continue without legalities placed, and couldn’t continue operating the brand under what I believe to be unfair circumstances. I love this brand, it was my baby since the age of 21, and I LOVE our supporters; so in many ways at first, I felt that my life was being forcefully redirected and was not able to choose my end-date with Dimepiece due to things out of my control. I can’t begin to convey this story in the amount of characters allotted here, but what I can amount it all to is this: thank you. Over the course of 12 yrs, we started in a bedroom and went on to make hundreds of thousands of garments, 7 HQ’s, 3 warehouses, over 100 interns, held international trademarks by the age of 25, had the largest streetwear company to exist at the time want to acquire us, and were in all of the mags I read as a teen; all of this independently, no investors. I say this not to boast, but to share the triumphs of our story from humble beginnings and leave young women with the message that you truly CAN start with a vision and create a life you couldn’t imagine, as long as you remain adamant, trust the process and follow it with focused application. These were all positive milestones, but I’ve come to realize it was never about that: It was about the girl waiting in line to spend her last $32 at our pop-up shop. It was about the girl that used our statement tees as a form of communication to her peers because she wasn’t yet comfortable to speak her truth. It was about the guy who took a risk and switched his major to the arts after reading our story. It was the hundreds of people interviewed that wanted to be apart of our vision. That will always be the foundation of Dimepiece; I want to truly THANK EVERY PERSON that has been apart of this era. As I lean deeper into a new direction in 2020, which I am so excited to share soon, parts of this brand will always live in me w/ sincere gratitude. Thx for reading ♥ - @ashleylabarrie on Instagram

Day 10 of my 100 wishes personal diary challenge. I’m feeling clear and grounded, ideas that are repeating are getting put into other lists and printed out to place on my mirror. What always happens in my last wishes is wishes for humanity, wishes for the loving people of Bali, wishes for my friends, my family and wishes the rise of good things for good people all over the world. One of my wishes has been to take a stroll down the beautiful old towns of Ibiza and in this photoshoot with @may.may I received a wish I didn’t think I’d experience this year. Truly anything is possible, keep wishing, keep expanding your container and keep over riding your old patterns with new positive ones. Taking on a 21 day challenge for yourself whatever that looks like for you, is a step in the right direction. Начало учебной поры, напомнило мне об истории из детства. ⠀ ⠀ Когда мне было лет этак я не помню сколько, предположим от 8 до 10, я ходила к репетитору по русскому языку. Помогло мне это мало, но не в этом суть. ⠀ ⠀ Обычно до репетитора меня провожала бабушка, нужно было проехать много остановок на троллейбусе и еще немного пройтись. И вот в один прекрасный день, было принято решение, что я могу доехать до репетитора самостоятельно. ⠀ ⠀ Мне было выдано Х рублей на проезд и суть в том,что с этого Х у меня должен был остаться Y. ⠀ ⠀ Так вот… я проехала свою остановку… ⠀ И самое обидное было в том, что это была не остановка из серии 5 метров до другой остановки (каковых большинство на моем маршруте), нет я проехала кардинально, через мост 🤦🏼♀️.⠀ ⠀ В общем пешком я уже совершенно не успевала к репетитору и вспомнив об Y рублей, я решила остановку обратно проехать. ⠀ И если мне не изменяет память, то Y рублей - это рубля 2, сложно сейчас представить, что проезд стоил 2 рубля, но я почти уверена, что так оно и было. ⠀ 🔺К сути. ⠀ До репетитора я доехала, отзанималась… Вспомнила сейчас, что попросила поменять репетитора, потому что у той женщины очень плохо пахло изо рта… К той репетиторше я в итоге ходить перестала, а новую мы так и не нашли. Суть все еще не в этом. ⠀ ⠀ 🔺К сути 2. ⠀ По возвращению домой меня на остановке встречала бабушка. И решила бабушка по дороге домой купить хлеба. Толи она не взяла кошелек, толи я не помню что, но суть (вот она суть) в том, что ей понадобился мой оставшийся Y рублей (который я потратила на троллейбус из-за того, что пропустила остановку). ⠀ ⠀ В итоге я сказала, что потеряла деньгу, потому что не знала, что хуже - что я умудрилась проехать остановку (и меня больше никуда не отпустят одну) или то, что я просто Маша-растеряша. ⠀ Сейчас я понимаю конечно, что правда она лучше и меня даже можно было бы похвалить за сообразительность и самостоятельность, что я не растерялась и справилась с ситуацией и добралась до занятия во время, но в тот момент было легче сказать “потеряла”, да и с выигрышной стороны я себя не представляла тогда…. ⠀ ⠀ Бабушка, если ты помнишь этот случай и я тебе не рассказывала правду, то вот она 😊 #детство - @marie_tabu on Instagram

Small town America shifts its visceral tone from a feverish collision of loudmouth hustle, to a patchwork of gorgeous landscapes and untouchable charm. Being originally from a city, I often dream of such escape. I don’t like noise too often, I prefer the quiet. The idle. Those in-between spaces, those bold moments of hyper awareness. I recently embarked on a road trip, pandemic style. Isolated in the car for hours upon hours, on the couch or hotel bed starting yet another episode of shit TV, ordering contactless delivery, and wearing my cloth mask everywhere in public — truly covering my identity in places no one knew I existed regardless. Anonymity is a funny thing. It felt... strange. But this is 2020. And it’s a strange year. I didn’t take too many pictures. To be honest, this year isn’t one I want to really remember. Instead of spending copious amounts of money on rolls for film, I just snapped the more meaningful moments on an iPhone and called it settled. And I love it. I love these pictures. They’re perfectly imperfect and just enough to still make me feel something. Although, the first picture was from early May; a time I genuinely felt happy. mission update! • 121 days ago I submitted my mission papers with my availability date set for today, May 10th. • After that, a series of unfortunate events unfolded as I was stuck waiting for meeting...after meeting...after meeting over the course of about three months. At first, I thought the uproar of these extra meetings was to make sure I was in good mental health. Pretty standard stuff. Unfortunately, the problem was not mental health, it was physical health. • Because I fall below the ideal weight range for my height and age, there was question as to whether or not I had an eating disorder. (I don’t.) That was a really frustrating time for me because my weight has never been something I felt I could control. #fastmetabolismgang • 43 days ago I had my final meeting and my papers were sent back to Salt Lake with the recommendation for me to serve a teaching mission. • Obviously, things have been crazy due to the pandemic so mission calls are taking significantly longer than anticipated. At this point, I have no updates as to where my papers are or whether or not I can serve. • Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive of me along this journey, I’ll update as soon as I have any new news. :) - @kyrstinlake on Instagram
