The work we do at the Childrens Organ Transplant Society is vital during circumstances such as these. As Codi was not physically in BC Childrens Hospital for most of his time in hospital, the healthcare system would NOT pay for his mother to stay in a hotel. As such, we stepped in to pay for over 10 nights in a hotel so Codis mom could be by his side.👇🏼 On the 30th of August, Codi was taken to Royal Inland Hospital due to internal bleeding from varicose veins. They scoped him three times to try and stop the bleeding, but were only able to stabilize him enough to fly to BC Childrens Hospital on September 1st. He was in BCCHs ICU for 2.5 days before he was transferred to Vancouver General Hospital for a procedure to stop the bleeding, after which he was moved back and forth between BCCH and VGH another two times. By the time he made it back to VGH, he was in such severe condition he had to undergo a 12 hour surgery to put in a spleenal renal shunt, as well as repair an 8mm esophagus tear created during scoping. The days following his surgery were extremely rough, with a small blood clot, pneumonia in his right lung, and a partially collapsed left lung. Codi is still in VGH awaiting full discharge. Stories like Codis remind us of how fragile life after transplant can be. El lunes 13/7 a las 0hs empezaron las contracciones. Justo el día que nos dijeron. Puntual como la madre! Y ahí empezó un largo trabajo de parto donde les acompañé lo mejor que pude, e hicimos todo lo que elles necesitaban... bailamos, tiramos almohadones a la bañera, le di buzos para que muerda a Naty, anotabamos contracciones una tras otra, comimos, nos miramos, y mientras tanto armaba y organizaba todo para la ida a la clínica, creo que por primera vez pude hacer más de una cosa a la vez, intentando estar lo más atento a todo. Naty empezaba a convertirse en la más bella animal. Y así nos fuimos, andando, frenando en cada contracción. Llegamos a la clínica. Nos encontramos con Pau, la partera, que en cada llamada, nos contenía, nos hacía sentir que íbamos bien. Y de ahí, a la sala de partos. Hasta ahí no entendía si faltaba mucho, si ya todo había empezado, o si estaba por empezar. Siempre quise estar al lado de Naty, de elles. No me podía separar. Estábamos tranquilos, yo soy de ponerme nervioso antes de las cosas importantes, pero acá estaba tranquilo, seguro, confiaba mucho en les protagonistas y quería acompañarles bien, dando confianza, amor, tranquilidad, calma. Intente hacerlo lo mejor posible. La besé, la agarré de la mano fuerte, la sostuve, le daba ánimo. Depsues de varias horas empezaron los pujos finales, ella estaba acompañada de dos grandes profesionales humanos amorosos, el obstetra Juan Pablo Sojo, y Pau, la partera. Elles fueron fundamentales, le dieron mucha confianza a Nati, la acompañaron y les cuidaron en todo momento. Y después de tanto trabajo, Naty ya cansada, toca la cabecita de Ayún que se asomaba y dio el pujo de su vida, el último real. Naty mamífera pujo largo constante, y ahí decidiendo entre les dos convertirse en madre e hijo al mismo tiempo. Trabajaron mucho. Fueron y son valientes. Y ahí cambió la vida, nuestras vidas. Llegó Ayün y apenas me lo dieron, le dije bien cerca al oído que íbamos a jugar mucho, reír y que iba a intentar hacerlo muy feliz. El lunes a las 9.58 fue nuestra primer Cita con Ayün. Di jaman sekarang ini masih banyak kita temui orang-orang menjalankan adat istiadat budaya jawa, tidak hanya terbatas dengan tari-tarian, gamelan, wayang dll. Tapi juga ternyata masih banyak juga yang masih menjalankan budaya jawa yang berkaitan dengan dunia metafisika. Salah satu budaya tersebut yaitu orang memasang susuk. Sangat di sayangkan banyak yang tidak diketahui dari Dampak negative dari memasang susuk itu sendiri. . Susuk yang kami ketahui itu adalah sebuah media fisik yang bisa dilihat, diraba dan dirasa oleh panca indra kita, akan tetapi dari sebuah benda fisik di isi sebuah entitas yang tidak semua orang bisa merasakan / melihatnya yaitu jin. Jin itu yang biasanya berperan penting dalam hal mempermudah mewujudkan keinginan sang pemakai susuk. Banyak praktisi yang memasang susuk tidak menginformasikan dampak negatif dari memasang susuk itu sendiri. Kami mencoba untuk menjelaskan dampak negative memasang susuk, yaitu sang jin bisa masuk ke dalam tubuh, membuat sarang / rumah untuk ditinggali. Jin didalam tubuh juga bisa mempengaruhi perilaku kita setiap harinya tanpa kita sadari dan juga membuat sakit tubuh pemakai susuk. Suatu saat jika ingin mengeluarkan susuk belum tentu jin yang menggunakan media susuk bersedia keluar dengan baik-baik dan bahkan bisa mengakibatkan kematian. . Jin, siluman atau arwah penasaran tersebut akan menjajah alam bawah sadar seseorang sesuai karakternya. Kebanyakan yang masuk gendruwo,kunti,atau siluman macan dari macan hitam sampai loreng. Jin siluman dan arwah tsb akan membuat energi hitam pekat di dada. Dan bila energi hitam tersebut memenuhi tubuhnya sampai batas leher. Itu pertanda,si kodam jin siluman tersebut akan membawa nyawa sang majikannya. . Siang ini.. saya menjenguk seorang anak yang sedang viral di media sosial yang dalam keadaan sakit parah ia mengigau lantunan suci ayat Quran. Subhanallah... Baim harus kuat melawan penyakit ini.. Diunggah dari akun facebook Neng Ayu Yasmin berdurasi 59 detik yang di upload, terdapat unggahan seorang anak yang sedang terkapar kemarin lusa itu kemudian viral. Video itu sampai kini telah mendapatkan 6,1 ribu respon, 88 komentar yang beragam menyanjung sikap anak tersebut serta 3,7 ribu dibagikan. Nama lengkap dari anak tersebut adalah Muhamad Ibrahim Wafiq (10) dengan panggilan BAIM. Ia tidak mengenyam pendidikan formal di sana, Baim ke Rumah Quran itu hanya mengaji. Saat ini kondisi Baim Mengidap Sakit Kronis terbaring di RSPAD Gatot Subroto. Dalam kondisi sakit ia Mengigau Terus dengan melantunkan Lafaz Al-Quran. Rupanya benar bahwa anak dalam video tersebut mengaji di Rumah Quran Az-Zahra. Letaknya berada di Kavling Perwira Jaya, Jalan Bintara IV Rt 04/12, Kelurahan Perwira, Kecamatan Bekasi Utara. He spent the first 9 months in the hospital receiving high dose chemotherapy to get his body ready to receive his stem cell transplant. After the procedure and months of full body radiation he was healthy but just a short time after his leukemia came back and the UK medical team determined that there was nothing else they could do to save him, so his parents fought for him to receive a new treatment plan in Singapore, a CAR-T therapy to give this treatment a chance that could heal Oscar. After receiving the devasting news, his family raised all the funds they needed to try this new trial and it gave Oscar a second chance to live. Tomorrow mumma is going back to work after 12 months maternity leave so thats why today I made an active decision to sit on the couch and enjoy my cuddles with you instead of putting you in your cot for your nap and doing any housework. I have cherished the last 334 days with you by my side so much. I have memorized your milky drunk smile, and soaked in your infectious laugh. I have smothered you in kisses every day. I have witnessed your face light up when I come into the room and I have cried with you through your teething pain and bugs, and ive been inspired watching you work so hard during and after every physio and osteo session to get your neck and head better. I am blessed to witness the time you first smiled, laughed, discover water, rolled over, ate solids, went on an airplane and even your epic pooexplosions. 🙈 I have loved every minute of being your mum. You have been the best little baby and companion we couldve ever asked for. Its bittersweet right now, and the rollercoaster of emotions is real. The truth is, Im sad this special time has passed. The truth is, Im excited to get back to work, with new challenges on the horizon and to work with wonderful people The truth is, I know it will be hard, and there will be good days and there will be tough But Im excited for the next phase in our family life. FAMily Update 💻 It was a scary day for Callie and her family. During her platelet 🩸 transfusion, Callie’s heart rate shot up in the 200’s, and her oxygen dropped to the 70’s. Her mom watched in fear and panic as Callie struggled to breathe. The Medical Response Team rushed in and put Callie on O2, gave lasix and stopped 🛑 the transfusion. Soon after, poor Callie spiked a fever. She’s been started on antibiotics and Tylenol, but her heart rate has stayed in the 120’s for most of the day. After all the excitement, she had to have a liver ultrasound, her suction tube removed and two X-rays. Callie hasn’t had a bowel movement in 5️⃣ days and is feeling miserable. Please keep Callie and her mom in your prayers. Vulnerability. After some years of being a photographer, I am able to have a front row seat into what people find presentable about themselves. Which photos they choose to post from a series and I always wonder why they choose the ones they do. Then I remember that if someone was to take photos of me, I would overthink and overanalyse them to death before choosing one thats most attractive. The most worthy of the worlds gaze. But why? For who? For them. Who are they? These invisible creatures we imagine lurking somewhere in the shadows of Instagram, looking for imperfections. Are they even real? I think they are but, perhaps, only in our heads. Perhaps we have been lied to by our false idols. Advertising, celebrities or as theyre now called, influencers which is just about the most horrifying notion known to man. It saddens me so deeply when I see a completely natural, beautiful, powerful human being questioning their own beauty because of lies theyve been fed. We as people can be so mean to ourselves and hate the parts about us that are maybe the most unique and beautiful. Those little things like, that spot on your loved ones left thigh, that scar left behind that they beg you not to notice. If youve ever been in love, you know that those are the things you love the most. The things you remember and pine for when its all over. I know that this oversimplifies a very complex and deep issue and I dont want to pretend to have the answers or solutions and I understand everyones plight with self acceptance. Life Update with a teeny, tiny side of complications here and there. Apologies for the long post! I usually dont post much about my personal life as Ive always had a habit of keeping work separate from private life---but as of recent, Ive had to step away for a bit as my husband and I will finally become parents to a human child in Nov (yes, my first born will always be my fluffy pup, Miso)! On June 20th, I went in for my sonogram appointment. I didnt really expect anything as Ive done genetic testing before and the results have always turned out normal. The technician said our baby girl looked healthy, asking if I was sure about my due date because she was measuring a week ahead and how her legs are super long. I joked and said, maybe Ill have my Halloween baby after all. We looked at her heart and the tech kept saying her heart is beautiful. Its strong. Its a beautiful heart. In hindsight, I realized why she was repeating that. To any unknowing eyes, she was just as a baby should look like and thats what the doctor began with. She said, Overall, your baby is perfectly normal. All her extremities are growing well. Brain and heart all good, but she has a cleft lip on the left side. My brain kind of stopped working after I heard that. A cleft lip. I know what it is, but it doesnt run in my family nor my husbands. Apparently, its common in Asians, but I didnt know anyone with it. All I could do was nod to her telling me fact after fact about this condition. 1 in 700. It can be fixed. The palate seems intact. But there could be other defects, anomalies associated with a cleft lip/palate. We can test with an amniocentesis. FAMily Update 💻 Fear and hope. Two things all parents of kids fighting 🥊 monsters live with daily. For Klay’s mom, the fear is in the unkown, and watching her sweet boy struggle. Klay was recently admitted overnight to monitor extremely low blood pressure. His little heart ♥️ has been all over the place, and he’s battled ⚔️ both tachycardia and a low Ejection Fraction. The doctors were concerned that one of his heart medicines 💊 was causing the low BP, but decided the benefit outweighed the risk, and are continuing the med. He was sent back to housing, and they are keeping an eye 👁 on his blood pressure. As she watches her baby, Klay’s mom also has hope when he giggles, snuggles and plays. His chloromas are clearing up, which is a good sign ✴️ that his treatment is working. Please pray for Klay, that his heart remains strong. And pray for his momma’s heart too. People often say in jest, Being a mom is my superpower, but when Krupa told me that it was her mothers intuition that prompted her to take her 3 year old son, Shaan, to the ER, thats exactly what I thought. Had it not been for her intuition that Shaans behavior was seemingly off, she may not have stayed home that day simply to observe him. She may not have noticed his smile had suddenly changed, because only one side of his face lit up. Thanks to her quick action, doctors ordered a rapid MRI and they found a mass in his brain earlier this year in May. Shaan was diagnosed with an extremely rare brain tumor called CIC-rearranged sarcoma. As a result, he was immediately put on a 14 cycle chemotherapy, which is expected to conclude in April 2021. Shaan has been on my mind ever since Krupa told me about him last month. Im reminded of him at the most unexpected times throughout the day. Like when I tell my daughter, Naavya, Can you please be quiet for just 5 minutes? so I can have a moment of silence. Or when I tell her shes giving me a hard time when she refuses to take a bath (or just about anything these days). As soon as the words come out of my mouth, another thought crosses my mind: Imagine Krupa, I tell myself. She and her husband have been anxiously waiting for their son to return home from the hospital, and fill their home with ruckus again. Thats what toddlers are SUPPOSED to do, after all. Toddlers arent meant to be going through intense radiation. At a time when most parents biggest worry is how theyll get through this school year, Krupa and Rajan have been grappling with near death scenarios (Shaan had 3 close calls in the past 3 months).
