“I had previously done a performance piece at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft where I covered my car with a tarp made of bedsheets and invited people to have sex in it if they wanted to. My car had a Grindr profile where people could see it as a hosting spot. In Grindr there’s this language of hosting or traveling, like if you can host someone or if you can travel to someone. So I was thinking about my car as a hosting spot, but then I kept thinking about the language of cruising and cruising practices. It was this ephemeral thing that relied on gestures and looks to communicate desire. It was clandestine and involved a lot of wandering. So I was thinking about this landscape of cruising, but then I was also thinking about the cruising language and what remains. If this transaction now occurs mostly through a social media app, what happens to the language that was once used in order to do this? So S (@blve.azvl) and I ended up collaborating on this series of line drawings that we made into cyanotypes. Theyre maps based on cruising trajectories. 28 de Septiembre de 2020 Día Internacional del Derecho al Aborto ✊🏼💚 Decenas de mujeres nos reunimos en la explanada del Monumento para exigir nuestro derecho al Aborto Seguro, Legal y Gratuito en todo México. 14:34 hrs - 14:48 hrs: Salimos del Monumento para dirigirnos hacia el Zócalo capitalino cuándo cientos de cuerpos policiales Ateneas nos impidieron el pasó, del tal modo que nos encapsularon. Estos hechos se pueden apreciar en la segunda y tercera foto. El bloque negro tuvo que accionar para poder avanzar. Al lograr romper la valla policial, nos encontramos con otro encapsulamiento, ya no solo eran ateneas también había granaderos y quedamos totalmente encerradas. En respuesta, el bloque negro accionó, la policía comenzó a lanzar petardos y gas pimienta directamente. Estos actos dejaron heridas a varias compañeras, muchas de ellas se cubren el rostro porqué se sienten más seguras, no porqué accionen. El bloque negro enfrentó estos actos de violencia y represión, exigiendo la liberación de todAs. Con pintas, baile, consignas y la canción sin miedo amenizamos por un momento el encapsulamiento. Avui, 11 de juny, és el Corpus Christi, una de les festes més arrelades a Catalunya. Aquest any se celebra en línia posant laccent en la Patum i amb una exposició al claustre de la Catedral de Barcelona i més de 40 productes digitals de la Xarxa dArxius Comarcals de Catalunya. El Corpus ha estat considerada la festa de les festes, una de les celebracions de la cultura popular tradicional més vives, solemnes, antigues i participatives del calendari festiu, amb gran protagonisme de la imatgeria festiva. És una festa cívic-religiosa de carrer, de transformació de lespai públic, de colors, dolors, de lluïment i exaltació pública de lEucaristia. Al Corpus, antigament, hi era tothom, gremis, confraries, corporacions, parròquies, ordes religioses, congregacions. Una gran manifestació popular que va arrelar fort entre el poble, i que no ha estat exempta de conflictes entre el poder civil i leclesiàstic. La festa del Corpus en els seus orígens tenia una funció alliçonadora de les Sagrades Escriptures, amb les diverses representacions es mostrava escenes de la història sagrada, on el bé i el mal adoptaven diverses formes. De la processó del Corpus en van sorgir diversos elements folklòrics, alguns dels quals han arribat fins als nostres dies, gegants, àligues, dracs, víbries, mulasses, bous, cucaferes, diables, etc. Els guarniments florals, els altars a carrers i places, els domassos i cobrellits a balcons i finestres, i la gran solemnitat de tots els actes eren lexpressió de la gran festivitat del Corpus. La festa, actualment, ha perdut la vitalitat i la importància que havia tingut dècades i segles enrere. A Catalunya, la Patum de Berga és la celebració de Corpus més singular. Va ser inclosa el 2008 a la Llista Representativa de Patrimoni Cultural Immaterial de la Humanitat (UNESCO). Al Catàleg del Patrimoni Festiu de Catalunya, a banda de la Patum, trobem declarades, com a festes dinterès nacional, les enramades de Sallent, les enramades d’Arbúcies i les catifes de la Garriga. Esta semana estaremos destacando el trabajo fotográfico de @ruber_osoria_ fotógrafo cubano con sede en Chile 🇨🇱 Ruber Osoria Ruber Osoria es un fotógrafo nacido en Contramaestre, Santiago de Cuba, el 18 de abril de 1992 Chile transita su peor crisis sociopolítica desde el regreso de la democracia, el 11 de marzo de 1990. El anuncio de un alza en el precio del metro disparó en Santiago una serie de masivas protestas que impugnan la enorme desigualdad económica y, de paso, el ordenamiento político de un país que hasta ayer se tenía por vitrina paradigmática del neoliberalismo en Latinoamérica. La procesión en Chile iba por dentro, y no parece entonces demasiado extraño que el estallido social emergiera desde los mismos subterráneos del transporte público. Ya lo había advertido un personaje de Roberto Bolaño: Chile y Santiago alguna vez se parecieron al infierno y (…) ese parecido, en algún sustrato de la ciudad real y de la ciudad imaginaria, permanecerá siempre.
