What an awesome, and inspiring, weekend of adventure! Tagged in on supporting @and.rew.mcd and Tom tackle Tower of Te Aroha - 24h Everest Challenge. These boys smashed it, knocking over 9 loops of Mt Te Aroha (119 km, 9139 m elevation) in ~23h 45 min! Alpine conditions and full white out at the summit, with some freezing cold winds - heaps of fun on technical and steep trails. It affected me mentally, emotionally, and physically. Around the beginning of 2019, I read Psalm 139:14 which says that I am fearfully and wonderfully made and 1 Corinthians 10:31 says in all that you do, do all to the glory of God. After seeing this it compelled me to workout to inspire others and glorify God. I’ve also had some fantastic fellowship with my friends as well as getting big gains. This has NOT been an easy journey and it’s far from over but I want to thank all of you who’ve supported me. Whether it’s from saying “you look bigger” or training me, I truly do thank you. Massive shoutout to @zaycfitness for training me. Couldn’t do it without you bro. I’m stoked to see how much farther I’ll be in another 1.5 years. Another bike trip to Newburyport, I love it up there! This time I parked in town and rode to Plum Island. Nice ride, fast at first doing 3.5min miles to get there in about 15min. A little workout on the beach and some stops for photos. I try to stop at some of the local business and make sure I put money in the meter while parking. I feel supporting some business in small towns is helpful, while of course following their safety guidelines that they have set in place. There’s so many cool houses around the area. I love the decrepit pink house on the marsh, I want to live in it. This is the Wisdom Tree in nearby Griffith Park. There’s a chest with journals available where you can write any dreams or wisdom you want to share with the universe. Not too long ago, I hiked up there and wrote down that I wanted to become a more dedicated and disciplined runner. I wanted to set goals and worry about myself, not my competition. This year I was hoping to take a big leap forward when it came to racing. I had my eyes set on PR’s and podiums. Covid had other plans. On our way to Florence we saw this cute small town! We stopped to have a quick lunch, and we were amazed how delicious the food was! From tasty wine to homemade pasta with truffles to steak with porcini mushrooms, our tastebuds were in heaven! The owner even stopped by to have us try the homemade port wine.
