life update: 3 days ago, I left in my van and started heading west to isolate in my van and in nature during all this covid madness. now, I realize you might think Im stupid for doing this during this time and I would partially agree. while its kinda the worst time to do it with the pandemic, its also kinda the best time given that I dont have to worry about taking time off from work and on top of that, Im getting money from unemployment. Im being very cautious by wearing a mask and drying out my hands with hand sanitizer whenever I find myself in public areas with people around. so far, I camped at a free campground in the badlands, went mountain biking in rapid city and am currently headed towards washington, staying somewhere in coeur dalene tonight. - @sam_mathys on Instagram

Swipe left for Sand Beach. Taking Interstate 70 Eastbound through Utah there’s multiple “Scenic Views” to stop and gaze at. It’s been SOOO long since I’ve been to Utah (20+ years) and I’ve never taken this route. It’s like driving through a painting of a different planet. It’s quite a time consuming trip as you cycle through the cliffs and plateaus of color and it’s hard from stopping every ten minutes to take a picture. My wife and I drove into Monument Valley early in the day and spent some time wandering around and taking in the sights. A couple hours in, a big dust storm started to blow through and most of the park emptied out. I was amazed by the atmosphere and light as the sun continued to fall, so we covered up the camera and kept shooting. The gentleman in this photo brings his horse to John Wayne Point every day for tourists to take photos at the scenic spot. It took an incredible team of volunteers to make this delivery successful so thank you to @3j1hmum for organizing the distribution and @hopirelief for securing the food & supplies! We served 4 villages and one open distribution. This included: 800 dairy/ produce boxes- 417 food boxes(midwest) 500 packs of hotdogs 250 8 pack hamburgers 150 10Lb chicekn breast 150 4 lb pork loins 400 18 count eggs (7200 eggs) 115 hygiene boxes- 104 cases Powerade 2 pallets of papertowels 6 pallets of cat food 1 /2 pallet of candy. Day 194 Après une nuit peu confortable dans le bus nous arrivons finalement vers 6h30 à Cappadocia, lun des endroits où Carolina rêve daller depuis longtemps! Notre timing est parfait pour voir les célèbres mongolfières prendre leur envol au lever du soleil🎈🌄 cest magnifique! On va ensuite au Sultan Cave Suites, lhôtel que jai réservé pour nous détendre après ces semaines de voyage intense, il est situé sur une colline et dispose dune terrasse couverte de tapis turques avec une superbe vue sur les mongolfières au levé du soleil. Le reste de lhôtel est également très beau, taillé dans la roche sur différents niveau avec beaucoup de végétation. La chambre en pierre taillée avec ses mosaiques, sa cheminée et sa baignoire romaine nous donne envie de rester dans ce paradis 😁. Après avoir déjeuner des mantis au restaurant Turkish raviolis, bon et pas cher, on va se renseigner auprès des agences de voyages sur les différentes activités. On décide de faire un tour en quad pour le coucher du soleil. On part donc vers 16h30, on séquipe avec le casque et cest partit! On décide de prendre un quad pour deux car Caro ne se sent pas de conduire un quad seule. On roule donc dans les vallées arides de Cappadocia sur des pistes en terre. On prend de la poussière plein la tronche donc cest quand même mieux davoir des lunettes de soleil et un masque. Le tour dure 2 heures, on fait de multiples arrêts à des points de vue et je fais peur à Caro en faisant de bonnes accélérations et virages de temps en temps. Notre tour se fini à un point de vue où lon peut voir le coucher du soleil, tous les groupes de quad sarrêtent ici il y a donc 150 quads on se croirait à une réunion de motards 😂. Il y a même une jeep qui met de la musique avec des grosses enceintes, cest très cool! Lorsque lon revient à lhôtel il y a un groupe qui joue de la musique traditionnelle sur la terrasse. On se pose donc en prenant une petite bouteille de vin pour célébrer notre arrivée à Cappadocia. Le soir on dine également au restaurant de lhôtel. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. 🌠 As a kid living in Gary, Indiana, I would often go to sleep to the sounds of gunshots. Many of my teenage friends were pregnant, dead or in prison. Every night, I dreamed of getting out. I dreamed of a better life because I knew my story couldnt end in this city.
