Kedatangan Kasal diterima langsung Panglima Komando Armada (Pangkoarmada) I Laksamana Muda TNI Abdul Rasyid K, S.E., M.M. dan Panglima Komando Lintas laut Militer (Pangkolinlamil) Laksamana Muda TNI Irwan Achmadi, M.Tr (Han). Inspeksi Pemimpin TNI AL ke unsur-unsur Koarmada I ini merupakan salah satu upaya untuk melihat dari dekat kondisi teknis dan kesiapan operasional KRI dalam melaksanakan tugas sehari-hari. Kesiapan KRI merupakan faktor utama TNI AL dalam mengemban tugas menegakkan kedaulatan dan hukum di perairan yurisdiksi Indonesia. #KnowYourNavy Indian Naval Ship Kochi, an indigenously designed and built guided missile Destroyer, was commissioned into the #IndianNavy on 30 September 2015. The ship has a displacement of 7,500 tonnes, a length of 164 metres, beam of 17 metres and is capable of speed in excess of 30 knots. She is manned by a crew of 40 officers and 350 sailors. The predominantly indigenous weapon-sensor-machinery fit and stealth features symbolises the maturing of India’s indigenous shipbuilding capability and quest for self- reliance. She is equipped with surface to surface and surface to air missiles, medium and short range guns, torpedoes, anti-submarine rockets and advanced electronic warfare and communication suite. The ship is also capable of embarking all types of helicopters operated by Indian Navy. Kochi’ has been named after the famous city in the State of Kerala. The crest depicts a snake boat on the waves with the traditional sword and shield of ‘Kalaripayattu’ warriors in the upper section signifying the maritime and military past of the region. The motto in Sanskrit “Jahi Shatroh Mahabaho” means “O Lord Almighty! Let me Prevail over the Enemy”. The technical launch of the patrol vessel OPV (Offshore Patrol Vessel) took place today in our shipyard in Muggiano (La Spezia) An advanced and innovative project ordered to Fincantieri by the Qatari Ministry of Defence. The vessel will be about 63 meters long, 9.2 meters wide, with a maximum speed of 30 knots, and it will be able to accommodate on board 38 persons of the crew.
