Hope is not a plan. It never worked for me to just say I “hope” I’m better today than I was yesterday, the truth is I had no idea how to be better or where to start to be better. What I learned is that actions are more important than words. For a long time it was hard to be aware of my actions and not to act off impulse, over time I learned the simple meaning of “if it’s not right don’t do it and if it’s not true don’t say it” today marks 9 years of sobriety for me. I keep my sobriety very simple, one day at a time. I don’t pick up a drink or a drug NO MATTER WHAT happens. Sobriety has provided me with an understanding that there is a god and I’m not him. Sobriety has also given me a life worth living and family that loves me, a wife that loves me and friends that want to be around me. Most importantly, sobriety has made me believe in myself, because really I’m the only one that can screw it up. I’m not “lucky” to be sober. N A K T A K N A K ( FULL VIDEO ) . . Firstly, thank you to my brother @nfj15 for roping me into this. Was quite hesitant in doing this when he asked me nak tak nak? because dancing to a malay song is never my forte. I decided to jump onto this track when I understood the meaning and intention of the song. Long story short, the song and @farizjabba words moved me, and this video came about. . . Art is an intimate relationship that only you have and you can never ever let people touch that. - @farizjabba I believe that I had sat in this conversation with him and shared our own views as to why we took our own form of art and how it heals us. In conclusion, we love what we do and doing that makes us feel more of a human. . . Theres so much to this song itself if you were to read and understand its lyrics. When creating this piece with @nfj15 , I often question myself, what is the intention in this choreography? Why am I doing this? What should I feel about this? So many questions were raised in my mind. I only had one clear goal. That was to find peace within myself. With everything thats going on, I dumped all my sadness, my sleepless nights, my anger, my frustrations and my depressing days all into this creation. After all that is done, truth be told, it felt as though a ton of weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. . . This creation is also a form of dedication. To you and to whoever that feels like they need it, you can have it. This goes out to those who have had to ride through the tough tide. Know that the sun will rise again and there will be a new day to begin with. Be strong, love yourself. . . Music was produced by none other than the talented : @flightsch @farizjabba . .
