Stories of the documentary Exodus - Where I Come From is Disappearing (2016) . Another source of meat in the camps are the camels. They are more expensive than the goats, and usually are eaten in special occasions, like celebrations or when you have a guest at home. One family that we filmed for many days, prepared grilled camels chopped in little cubes for us, in our last day at the camp. The sandstorm was coming and this was the only open shop left. Maybe because the butcher really needed to sell the meat before it went bad. The sand was everywhere, it was difficult to breathe even with the turban. The butcher didn’t make a move. I felt that lump creeping up in my throat and had to fight back some tears. - It was a very common surgery, nothing crazy or threatening... but for a brief second I was scared because I know I’ve taken so much of our time together for granted because I do still see us as kids. I think we have all the time in the world. - I invest so much time into building a life for us and I forget that we are getting older. We’re growing up. We’re doing all the things we talked about 10 years ago. I’m just not taking the time to appreciate it. - So here’s to balance. Я люблю ее работы за юмор, изобретательность и детскую непосредственность. ❤️ ⠀ Когда началась самоизоляция, Ирэн приостановила свою работу над книжными проектами, потому что на неё навалилось огромное количество дел. ⠀ У Ирэн двое детей. Они учились он-лайн, поэтому большая часть времени уходила на домашнее обучение. ⠀ Так же Ирэн присматривала за собачкой своей подруги, которая находилась в зоне риска. Она постоянно гуляла с ней, надеясь заводить интересные знакомства, но на её маленькую собачку обращали внимание лишь старушки и маленькие девочки 👧🏻👵🏻 ⠀ Помимо домашних дел Ирэн стала помогать в местном продуктовом магазине. Она расставляла товар, следила за очередью в магазин и занималась доставкой продуктов. ⠀ Я решила выбрать для иллюстрации именно этот эпизод, потому что очень люблю локальные продуктовые лавки. Они напоминают мне о детстве. Наша мама работала примерно маленьком продуктовом на остановке Саяны, и мы с сестрой постоянно ошивались там. ⠀ Это были те самые 90-е, мы фантазировали, что все продукты — наши. 🧃🍪🥡 И однажды, заигравшись, съели 2 шоколадки с витрины. (Как сейчас помню - bounty) Это одно из самых тёплых воспоминаний детства. ⠀ Конечно нам потом неплохо влетело, была прочитана лекция о клептомании и недостойном поведении, были слёзы раскаяния и внутреннего счастья. In questi ultimi giorni ho sentito un energia simile a quella dei giorni “del crollo del muro di Berlino” Neanche è paragonabile quell esperienza a questa, ma io non dimenticherò mai quei giorni e neanche questi. Adesso c’è la vera e grande opportunità, dopo che la Terra e la Natura ci hanno mostrato che siamo noi il loro virus. Mi piace pensare che sia stata una reazione della Terra a seguito di tutte le manifestazioni per il cambiamento climatico. Come abbiamo intenzione di riprendere la nostra vita ? È stato detto tutto ed il contrario di tutto. Consideriamo ancora L esistenza degli uni solo centrale a noi stessi e non vogliamo capire ed agire come cellule di un grande organo vivente chiamato terra. Non c’è salvezza in nessuna isola idilliaca-anche se L idea mi piaceva tanto- non c’è salvezza a ritirarsi al limite di un bosco-anche questa L avrei amata- Il presente ed il futuro è nelle città che viviamo Vogliamo renderle “Vivibili”? Ognuno di noi può portare avanti un obbiettivo un progetto ,collateralmente a tutto, in cui possa partecipare a rendere la nostra casa un posto migliore per se e per gli altri! I miss Anthony. For people who dont know, Anthony is my music soulmate and is pretty much a brother at this point. We met at @kdvs903fm as core staff 10 years ago (he was the audio engineer assistant and I was the multimedia director). Another look inside Michael Morpurgo’s #ThePuffinKeeper. In this scene, Allen and Ben begin to nurse a Puffin back to health. My approach to the artwork here differs to my picture books; for this book I worked directly over hand-drawn scans, layering up colour and light. One of the themes in this book is painting and it felt right to take a looser, more painterly approach. I made Ben’s arms slightly longer than they should be as when printed they have to span the gutter, causing a bit of shortening. There’s a link in my bio if you’re interested to pre-order a copy. às vezes eu escuto ou leio em algum lugar que ser lésbica significa lutar pelo direito de amar. ser sapatão sempre teve um significado bem diferente pra mim, por isso essa definição não parece fazer sentido quando eu penso sobre a minha vivência. ser sapatão sempre foi subverter as normas, habitar fronteiras, não pertencer a nenhum lugar porque nunca existiu lugar em que eu pudesse ser. e por muito tempo o lugar que eu ocupei foi ruim. nunca precisei estar acompanhada de outra mulher pra ser lida como uma pessoa que ameaça a ordem. ser lésbica pra mim, e principalmente pra outras mulheres, sempre foi resistir às violências. escrevo isso no dia da visibilidade lésbica porque, pra mim, ser sapatão não é apenas sobre afetividade. é também, porque os afetos nos atravessam, mas é sobretudo sobre lutar pra existir fora da norma. sou muito grata a cada ana e a cada louie que resistiram pra que hoje eu pudesse viver, feliz. ✨ sou grata, também, a todas as pessoas que seguraram minha mão durante todos esses anos e a todas as sapatonas que vieram antes de nós. p.s.: tentei escolher fotos de diferentes fases da minha vida, mas parece que eu não mudei muito 👀#visibilidadelesbica - @pontolouie on Instagram
