PROJECT- RESIDENCE CP 26 PARADISE. Bemused by the quest to create an intemporelle art of building, that ages like a fine red wine, a spatially apprehended will of epoch strives for simplicity, translating into a series of spatial effects. Blurring the boundaries between art, painting, sculpture and architecture, a home comes to life, like a well written poem or frozen music, leaving one entranced for the longest time. A flowing, dynamic, clear space of the free plan unwinds the aesthetic quality of the minimalist interiors transcending into the echoes of the outward projected frivolous and self-indulgent architecture through the glass skin and innumerable fenestrations. The core built-form is conceived through a clean stroke of lines, procured through a quality of sternotomy ,rigorous engineering and meticulous hours of detailing, portraying the passion and yearning for architecture. The Eloquent essence of the ethereal and lush greens, held together by vertical straight frames, along with the eternal sunshine all around, infiltrates the micro climate within the site yearlong satisfying the love for nature. Renier Montero (Havana, 1989) studied Electronics and Restoration of Heritage Architecture. He worked as a specialized technician at the Wifredo Lam Contemporary Art Center, at the 11th and 12th Havana Biennials, at the Havana National Fine Arts Museum and at Galleria Continua. He produced and installed works for many international and Cuban artists, including: Anish Kapoor, Pascale Marthine Tayou, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Jannis Kounellis, Jorge Macchi, Michael Bielicky, Sislej Xhafa, JR, Carlos Garaicoa, Alejandro Campins, Alexander Arrechea, Susana Pilar, Elizabet Cerviño, Yoan Capote, René Francisco and Osvaldo González. . “For this post, I chose a work from the exhibition ‘Rosa azul’ by kosovar artist Sislej Xhafa because I was struck by how he creates fascinating yet simple pieces from everyday objects. I learned a lot by collaborating in the production of his works. I got on very well with Sislej despite I spoke Spanish and he spoke Italian. My favorite piece is ‘Sunshine’, which I had the opportunity to install twice: first at the CAC Wifredo Lam and then at the Museum. Now extended until 31 January 2021: the Belvedere, Vienna showcases the work of Renate BERTLMMAN, including her large-scale installation created for the Austrian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2019, as part of the CARLONE CONTEMPORARY series. La storia dell’arte è fatta spesso da grandi “loser”. Giovanni Antonio Antolini fù uno di questi. Nato Castelbolognese, la sua prima formazione fù a Bologna. Giovanissimo si trasferì a Roma dove ebbe incarichi di bonifica come ingegnere idraulico dallo Stato Pontificio. Nonostante non si sappiano quali siano stati i suoi maestri, acquistò rinomanza come architetto. Progettò restauri nelle Umbrie e nelle Marche dove conobbe il pittore Felice Giani. Con il pittore, negli anni napoleonici, acquistò rinomanza in Piemonte è in Romagna grazie ai legami con la famiglia Laderchi, sia per la loro conoscenza dello stile all’antica sia per l’appartenenza di Antolini alla massoneria. Ma la sorte della Antolini fu quella di rimanere soprattutto architetto senza opere, autore di meravigliosi progetti. Così fu per il Borgo fuori porta imolese, mai edificato a Faenza, e soprattutto il grandioso Foro Bonaparte a Milano, rimettendoci molti soldi. Lavorò, però, negli interni di grandi famiglie nobiliari di pensiero massonico e liberale, come appunto tutti gli interni di #PalazzoMilzetti. Con la caduta di Napoleone gli furono tolti molti incarichi. Insegnò a Bologna presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti, e a parte alcuni lavori privati per case nobiliari, che non l’avevano dimenticato, morì povero. #TriviaTuesday: A frequently asked question is, “How tall was King Kalakaua?” Kalakaua did not answer the height question on his 1881 passport and media reports of the King’s height vary. A non-local newspaper reported during his 1881 trip that he was just 5’ tall, which is way too short, while another paper reported he was 5’11”. This photo of Kalakaua standing on the lanai next to the Chinese urns provides us with a great clue. The Chinese urns contain a decorative element, indicated by the red arrows, that can serve as a useful reference point. By examining the King’s stature in relation to that point, we can finally determine the King’s height. The color photo is of two Palace volunteers standing next to the very same urn. Ipolani on the left is 5’8” and Jeffery is 5’10”. From this evidence we can extrapolate that the king was likely about the same height as Ipolani. So, how tall was Kalakaua? DOORS OPEN — the annual event that invites visitors into the inner sanctums of some of Pittsburgh’s most remarkable buildings — is back for 2020, but with COVID-19 restrictions in place.
