This is a difficult subject to address and is often taboo in many cultures & religions. This subject is not ‘haram’ it is not ‘shameful’ & it is NEVER the victims fault. Let’s delve into the statistics; roughly, only 5% of reports end up with a conviction of the perpetrator. In the year of 2017 the CSEW estimated that 20% of women & 4% of men have experienced some type of sexual assault since the age of 16 & only 15% of these cases are reported to the police. On estimate, 11 men/women experience rape/attempted rape/sexual assault in England & Wales every hour. 90% of victims of rape know their rapist prior to the offence. In France, roughly 206 rapes occur every day, so that’s about 9 victims an hour. They also concluded that 1 out of 10 women are victim of rape at least once in their lives. Get this through your head: women rape/sexually abuse men, men rape/sexually abuse women, women rape/sexually abuse women, men rape/sexually abuse men. Don’t think it can only go one way. I am sorry that nobody believed you. I am sorry that your family told you to keep quiet. I am sorry the police didn’t do a single thing. I am sorry that you were made fun of once opening up. I am sorry your voice was not heard. I am sorry they blamed you. I am sorry any of this happened to you. I am sorry. But keep fighting, as hard it is, others need your strength and your support. “Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husbands) absence what Allah would have them guard” [Quran surah an-Nisaa’ 4:34]. The righteous wife is the one whom you see is serious about caring for and raising your children, teaching them Islam, good manners and the Qur’an, and instilling in them love for Allah, love for His Messenger, and love of good for people. Her main concern is not what they may attain in this world of prominence, wealth and degrees; rather she is concerned that they should attain a high level of piety, religious commitment, good character and knowledge. A sahabi asked O Messenger of Allah, what type of wife is best? He said: “The one who makes (her husband) happy when he looks at her, and she obeys him if he instructs her to do something, and she does not do anything with regard to herself or his wealth in a manner of which he does not approve.” Narrated by Ahmad (2/251) So , the Muslim should choose a wife who gives him comfort when he sees her, and he feels joy in his heart when she is present, so she fills his house and his life with ease, joy and happiness. Remember the destroyer of pleasures. Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) Life is short. Remember that nothing in this temporary world is permanent. I know living in a unislamic environment its really hard to be on our deen, but thats our Jihad! Peace, happiness, success... will only come in our life when the deen of Allah will come in our lives! When we observe his deen in our action only and only then things will get better! Remember that problems occur when we refuse to obey him. Success arent our universities degree, our status in this world, our money... just everything will not matter on the day of judgment. Yes Allah has blessed us with all these dunya stuff, but keep in mind our real home should be jannah. The only thing what will be matter, will be our righteous deeds. I know the world looks ugly. I see darkness around every corner and despair in every crack and yet, I see more. I see myself. Because when the world turned to darkness I decided to create light.
