Maple orange masa cookies. I will now call these my M.O.M. cookies for no other reason than it is an easy acronym. These cookies use an entire orange (zest and juice), and are partially sweetened with maple syrup, so my home smells incredible! I definitely had to hydrate these for at least 30 minutes to ensure they would not be gritty, and I got to use my mooncake press to give them an easy floral design. 💚 Green Tea Snowy Moon Cake 💚 Mid Autumn Festival is coming... It is a Chinese Tradition to eat Moon Cake during this Festive Season 💕💕 *Ingredients* Dough 20 gr Glutinous Rice Flour 20 gr Rice Flour 10 gr Wheat Starch or Corn Starch 75 ml Fresh Milk 1 tsp Matcha/Green Tea Powder 5 gr Condensed Milk 20 gr Sugar 8 gr Vegetable Oil Fillng Red Bean Paste/Lotus Paste/Taro Paste *How to Make* Mix all the dough ingredients and strain to get a smooth mixture. Steam with medium heat for 15 minutes. Knead lightly and let cool. Divide into several small balls. Mine at 20 gr each ball, which is too small. Next time I will do at 40 gr each. Roll with rolling pin and fill in the filling paste. If the dough is @20 gr, the filling @25 gr. If the dough @40 gr, prepare the filling @50 gr. Use Moon Cake Mould to get the desired shape. Mooncake atau yang biasa disebut kue bulan, merupakan kue yang disajikan pada Hari Terang Bulan atau ada yang menyebutnya Festival Kue Bulan. Turun temurun, kita diberikan pengetahuan juga mengenai legenda Dewi Bulan pada perayaan ini. Nah lanjut nih ke Kue Bulan. Sampai saat iji saya baru ketemu 2 jenis kue bulan, yaitu Cantonese Style (tradisional) dan kue bulan seperti Sin Hap Hoat atau merk lainnya (gak tau nih disebutnya style apa ya 😁😁😁). Cantonese Style pada era masih kecil sih hanya ada isian tausa (kacang hitam).. Nah pada era 2010 ke atas mulai banyak bermunculan isian yang lebih modern, seperti green tea atau lain lain. Sedangkan untuk kue bulan sejenis Sin Hop Hoat terdiri dari banyak macam isian, seperti cokelat, keju, durian, cempedak, dan lain lain. Masing masing jenis kue bulan itu berbeda di tekstur dan isian isiannya juga. Kalau mau mencoba dan berada di daerah Jakarta, bisa deh mampir ke daerah Pancoran yang banyak menjajakan kue bulan menjelang perayaan Hari Terang Bulan.
