i am changing 💫 a few days ago I looked in the mirror and hardly recognized the person I saw staring back. 8 months into motherhood and 6 months into a global pandemic, there has been more change in my life than I could have imagined. The last few months have brought new level of anxiety, but also a deep sense of gratitude for the wonderful people in my life. It has left me feeling unsettled, stirring a fire inside me for change. Celebrating the first day of Fall with the boy who stole my heart. Every year I set out on a mission to find pieces of Autumn in Southern California, not always an easy task. Luckily, one of my favorite parts of my job is location scouting. Usually we’ll go for a little hike and explore first, decide if it’s a shootable option. Then we’ll head back on a different day during sunset and take photos. That way I can see how it looks on camera. The best part about that step is I get photos with him. He’s getting so big and he’s such a happy cooperative model. He even gets excited about new clothes, I don’t know what I did to deserve him but I am so so lucky. Hey guys! It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything personal. I’ve lost tons of followers since I started posting some controversial stuff but I’ve also gained some new ones in the process. So I thought I would get on here, introduce myself and explain my intent going further. A little bit about me. I’m pro health, I’m anti oppressive, I’m a truth seeker and am checking myself daily through research that I’m not allowing pride to cloud my beliefs and judgment. It’s human nature and something I seek to check daily. My intent going forward is to have open conversations about anything I post with anyone whether they agree or don’t agree. We can understand each other with out agreeing or fighting. Wouldn’t life be so much easier and we could solve the world’s problems if everyone did that? My goal here is to unite, not further divide, to try and not offend while helping people see there might be way more to what’s really going on than we have been led to believe. With all that said, I want to continue on posting on human trafficking while exposing the corruption in our world and where I believe that corruption is. I truly believe this is good vs evil. This, in my opinion is not political, and I don’t want to turn it that way. I support black lives and believe systemic racism is a problem (seemed to be trending in the left) and I stand behind the movement of sex trafficking (seems to be trending more on the right). I don’t care what side any of this is on, what I care for is truth and combatting the corruption that plagues our world and country. Since I decided to do this, I want to do it right and organize my thoughts and research better. I’ve had several messages about saving things to highlights, I’m in the process of re organizing everything I’ve posted and then adding them to a highlight button. I’ve gotten that “you’ve got your hands full” comment a few times lately, and my response is pretty much always an automatic: FULL OF LOVE AND SWEETNESS AND HOLY COW CUTE DUDES YES as I squeeze them to pieces bc it’s the gosh darn truth. Duh there are trying days, but even then there are traces of grace and warmth and kindness from tiny boys who are just learning. I’m not a big fan of the term “terrible twos” for Fletch’s current phase bc what a way to set everyone up for failure with such a negative label, especially when the one being labeled is so busy learning every new emotion + how to manage them all while also learning literally everything else about life. It’s pure magic watching a person absorb every bit of wonder around them; genuinely experiencing everything for the first time, not terrible. It has been, and continues to be, my greatest honor so far to try to guide these buds to be good humans to ALL humans and I just love them so dang much MY. GOODNESS. Осенние цвета (жёлтый, оранжевый, коричневый, изумрудный), актуальные фасоны- платья и сарафаны теперь уже подождут до лета), интересные аксессуары - шляпки, зонтики, кружчки с чаем, плед, книга - всё это задаст нужное настроение для осенней фотосессии 🍁как бы не банально это звучало, находим самое жёлтое или оранжевое дерево и крутимся вокруг него))) добавить тёплых красок поможет букет из жёлтых листиков 🍁используем цветокоррекцию при обработке фото, уводя листву в тёплый шоколадный цвет Какие ещё лайфхаки знаете? My life changed so much this year! In the peak of c o v i d we adopted this beautiful angel! It was a miracle and I thank God everyday that He chose me to be her mama. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ She is my why. World breastfeeding week! I couldn’t let this week pass by without talking about it. We took this photo today, Indi turns 3 this month and yes she still nurses. I didn’t plan how our breastfeeding journey would go, I have just gone with the flow. Wouldn’t it be great to live in a culture where we didn’t have to normalise breastfeeding. Our closest living relatives - the chimpanzee usually wean their young at age 4 or 5 and I’m pretty sure there’s no judgement in the jungle. Well.. we made it one week! It’s been a hard week of recovering and re-learning and tiredness and connection. We have had so many too special to document the love is overflowing moments as a family this week. but mostly I’ve just felt so much gratitude for Thomas. He has served us endlessly. Words seem useless to express what it’s like being loved so purely. A bum spank in my adult diaper and a kiss on the forehead while he held Mabel and started a bath for me and then went to get the other kids breakfast and off to school as he pick up the house and so much more. I carried a baby for 9 months, went through, and will go through all the mom stuff but Thomas has carried me this whole process. I think so much credit should go to loving intentional men. “I hate my life”. Tears streamed down my face as the words escaped my lips faster than I could shut them. Immediately, the guilt came rushing in. How could I hate my life? A life filled with two beautiful boys?! A life with a loving husband and supportive family + friends. food, shelter, stability and health. A life that, theoretically, I’ve always “dreamed” about living and yet, there I was, crying to myself in the shower and feeling absolutely broken inside. •E A S E • • We make life a lot harder than it needs to be. We set expectations that can’t be met. We try to control. We try to change people or things that can’t be. We try to do too much at once. We dwell on negative emotions and focus on the what ifs. But what we really need to do is find more ease. More calm. More fun. More letting go. When I picture myself living my best life, I feel free. I feel happy, vibrant, and at EASE. I am not stressed out. I am not constantly busy. Life feels EASY. Don’t get me wrong, often life is the opposite of easy and that’s okay. That’s part of it. We need challenges. We need to struggle at times. We need growth. But, in our day to day life we CAN make our lives easier, and we can make it a goal to start creating a life that is easier in the long term. Some days we can drop the to do list and just BE. We can reorganize our lives so we have more time and energy to do what we love. We can take a deep breath and remind ourselves that we always have the support of the Universe, we always have time, and that life is supposed to be fun and beautiful. The consumption of dates in the final month of pregnancy has been shown to improve labour and delivery outcomes AND they’re delicious! 😊️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👉 A study on 182 women consumed 70-76g of dates per day from the 37th week of gestation was effective in decreasing length of the labor processes and reduced the need of oxytocin for labor acceleration (510 minutes vs 906 minutes). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👉 Consumption of dates also resulted in a significant reduction in induction compared to non-date consumers (28% vs 47%).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Interesting isn’t it? Did you know dates could help decrease the time you spend in labor???⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Another study also revealed the consumption of 60-67g of dates per day for the last month of pregnancy, until the onset of labour pains, was associated with greater dilation then their non-date-consuming counterparts! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ These statistics would encourage any late pregnant woman to consume 5-6 dates per day! I’ve taken a lot of time to think about the woman I want to be. Not the woman I am but the woman I want to be. That woman is always evolving and always growing. That woman gives herself endless grace. That woman knows without a doubt that she is worth far more than rubies and gold and that woman is the woman who loves unconditionally. I think womanhood hits differently when #motherhood steps in. When my girls grow up, I want them to know their value before a man comes along. I don’t want them to spend years of thinking “when my Prince Charming comes along…then I’ll be happy” because people don’t bring you happiness. They aren’t your root of joy. If you find purpose in someone else you will always end up disappointed time and time again. You can’t even put that weight on someone else because it’s not fair. No one should have the pressure to create this perfect world for you and you shouldn’t even want them too. I want them to know they are naturally perfect without makeup and filters. I want them to know they don’t have to appeal to the market with straight hair and never being natural, they can create their own market. Ik ben echt zo teleurgesteld... Stel hé... er doet zich een noodsituatie voor en je bent in de gelegenheid om te helpen. Dan doe je dat toch? We hebben het goed in Nederland over het algemeen. Er is geld en ruimte om mensen op te vangen. Maar wat doet onze regering? Die maakt ruzie over het opvangen van 500(!!!) kinderen!! Ik bedoel? Hoeveel zijn dat er nou helemaal! Maar nee hoor. De conclusie is dat er 100 vluchtelingen opgevangen worden. Dat zijn er geen 100 bovenop het al afgesproken aantal op te vangen vluchtelingen... nee die 100 wordt in mindering gebracht op een andere groep, dus het aantal lijft per saldo gelijk. Ik schaam me zeer, zeer diep. Waar is de compassie?? We zijn zelf nog maar zo kort vrij in dit land en we zijn nu al vergeten wat het is om hulp nodig te hebben en hulp te bieden. Tonight I was asked to be a guest on a radio show. We talked about current events, solutions, and how to have and start the important conversations. And one thing that stuck out was that I was sitting next to a female detective officer of Hennepin county... imagine THAT job right now- woof. I thought that was quite freakin cool. Chatting with her I just had this feeling to tell her, you are leaving a legacy. You’re paving the way for females in law enforcement. You are closing the gap in gender equality in a male dominant industry. Then she shared with me how many women actually are in leadership within the county. Also pretty sweet. I had shared as well, that every time you put on that uniform. EVERYTIME you leave the house. EVERYTIME you inspire someone to be and do better, you’re leaving a legacy. For her kids, little girls who want to do what she does, and also those who have been told, you can’t because “X”. I just met her tonight but man, I’m so proud of her. Of her bravery, discipline and following her passions and heart no matter her circumstance. It’s not just women empowering women. I feel that’s to taboo. It’s GETTING FREAKING EXCITED for ANYONE who is excited about something that LIGHTS THEM UP. 🔥 seriously the coolest, best feeling watching someone talk about something that means so much to them. Thank you Devin for being a pioneer and paving the way for other little boys and girls that want to do what you do. Flying into a new week like... I’ve been a bit quiet over here this last little while. Honestly, it’s been a tough week. Turns out that staying on top of editing and shooting 10 sessions in 5 days, all while trying to buy a new vehicle (RIP to my car after my little accident), isn’t the easiest thing ever! My personal/social life is essentially nonexistent as of late and there are currently 73 emails sitting in my inbox to get back to (and they WILL get answered, I promise!). Aber wer kennt es nicht, kaum 500m gelaufen, schon mag, will oder kann das Kind nicht mehr und will in den Buggy oder auf den Arm. Mit unserer super easy und ultra leichten Schultertrage von Minimeis kein Problem. Man braucht keinen Buggy mitnehmen. Man kann jede Wanderung laufen, ohne Rücksicht auf Geländetauglichkeit für den Kinderwagen zu nehmen. Die Trage ist ganz klein und leicht zusammen geklappt. Also sehr handlich. Lola sitzt total bequem und sicher darin und hat wirklich viel Freude von da oben. Ich weiß noch wie wir im Sommer im Harz waren, extra mit Bollerwagen, aber die Route dafür nicht tauglich war. Ich hatte Lola dann die ganze restliche Wanderung auf dem Arm getragen. Die ganze Zeit 12kg. Hätte ich da mal die Schultertrage gehabt 😅 Ich wurde direkt schon gefragt, ob die Trage irgendwann Rücken- oder Nackenschmerzen macht: Nein, überhaupt nicht! Es fühlt sich sehr angenehm und sicher an. Wildernest Fall Bucket List: Go apple picking 🍎 Yesterday we took the trips to the local farm 5 minutes from home, where we have gone apple and pumpkin picking since before they were even born. The last time we went apple picking here, they were about 3ish months old and it was their very first outing! It’s hard to believe how much they’ve grown and changed since then. When we went last year, we had gone sometime in October and there was very little left to pick from. I was hoping going in September would mean more apples, but the pickings were definitely getting slim and we had a difficult time finding decent apples to fill our bags with. Honestly though, does anyone really go apple picking for the apples? For us, it’s always just been a fun fall activity to get out and enjoy with family, which we definitely did. We were joined by all the grandparents, great nana, auntie, and uncles. The babies loved taking in all the sights and playing on the ground with the fallen apples; Wilder especially had a blast throwing them to us. On our way out we stopped to get some little pumpkins and visit the chickens and goats in nearby enclosures. I truly think it must be the gift you receive as a mother that all moms think their babies are just the most amazing humans on the planet...but in all honesty I’m thankful to raise these girls. It can be scary and hard and exhausting but man I’d sign up over and over and over again to do this job. I believe with my whole being that raising these girls is the most important work on the planet. I tear up just thinking about their hearts, their kindness, their talents but above all their testimony of our savior. I try to keep everything positive in this space, so with all the craziness going on in the world, I sometimes find myself having a hard time posting captions that are real. But what is real, is I’ve been reevaluating what is and isn’t important. It’s important to be investing more of my time into my kids than worrying so much about everything else in the world. It’s more important to hold them close, read to them, sing to them, and make sure they know that they are loved. I am still learning to navigate through the weirdest of times while trying to give my kids the childhood they deserve. I have loved every minute of getting to wear Jules close to me like a hug, while I put my best foot forward with homeschooling. Coincidentally, my @wildbird sling is named solstice, which is usually a turning point for the seasons, and what better name for a sling to hold my baby than one that represents our lives right now. ☀️ - @dearauggie on Instagram

✨ 20 WEEKS ✨ plus 1 day but who’s counting .. 🙊 feeling all the little kicks and movements now. It’s been an anxious few weeks waiting for them to become more regular, I swear I felt the boys way earlier then this and I just expected the same or earlier third time round.. So It was so nice to see and hear everything is growing perfectly in our scan yesterday. My anxiety has been quite high this pregnancy and I find my self needing so much reassurance. But I’m feeling a lot better after yesterday. Me laughing and just loving life prior to getting mastitis. Bah...it is no joke! I’ve spent the last few weeks shooting almost every night and clearly not taking good enough care of myself so this was a good wake up call. And man..does it hurt. Like, can’t raise your arm up hurt 🙈 BUT I was still able to enjoy having @thedana pop up for a visit and bust out an amazing session with her and @behindtheblush which helped take my mind off of it!
