Ik ben echt zo teleurgesteld... Stel hé... er doet zich een noodsituatie voor en je bent in de gelegenheid om te helpen. Dan doe je dat toch? We hebben het goed in Nederland over het algemeen. Er is geld en ruimte om mensen op te vangen. Maar wat doet onze regering? Die maakt ruzie over het opvangen van 500(!!!) kinderen!! Ik bedoel? Hoeveel zijn dat er nou helemaal! Maar nee hoor. De conclusie is dat er 100 vluchtelingen opgevangen worden. Dat zijn er geen 100 bovenop het al afgesproken aantal op te vangen vluchtelingen... nee die 100 wordt in mindering gebracht op een andere groep, dus het aantal lijft per saldo gelijk. Ik schaam me zeer, zeer diep. Waar is de compassie?? We zijn zelf nog maar zo kort vrij in dit land en we zijn nu al vergeten wat het is om hulp nodig te hebben en hulp te bieden. november 1 — what an insane last few months. the privilege to document love stories, human connection and fleeting moments is not one that I take lightly. if you asked me, mere hours ago, whether i believed in soulmates, i wouldve said no. i wouldve said the concept was a desperate grasp at the illusion of being known by anyone in this vast, cold universe in which the only person youll ever truly know is yourself. i wouldve said that it was unrealistic and cliché and sappy and vaguely nauseating. however. exactly one week apart, while walking home late, i stumbled upon 1. the violent aftermath of a shattered jar of pasta sauce and 2. a big pile of spilled noodles, and so im reconsidering. mAyBE sometimes if people are in the right place at the right time and happen to have a firm grasp on what theyre carrying at the moment, they could be perfectly set up for a classic pasta dinner. i think most often theyre a week late, or early, and theyve somehow dropped their entire jar of classico pasta sauce in the middle of campus??? and maybe one day theyll get fresh ingredients and run into each other and have their pasta dinner, or maybe not, or maybe they will but it will be someone new, someone whos bringing pesto instead. i really do hope that these people run into each other someday and figure it out. anyway, thats as close as im willing to get to admitting the possibility of soulmates - @holygrigoli on Instagram

OK, I’m the LAST one to rush into the fall season, I’m clinging to every last itty-bitty bit of summer that we have left. I’ve spent my fair share of time on the Battenkill River these last couple of months... tubing, kayaking, watching kids with their fingers bravely clasped to their noses jumping from bridges (VT “skyscrapers”) into the crisp water. I can’t recall a summer that has given us so many sunny days in a row.☀️But I just came across my pic of the Arlington Green Covered Bridge (circa 1852), peeking out onto Norman Rockwell’s former home, and it gave me the slightest pining for fall. 《心酸的Inbox》之真人真事 多倫多會很藍嗎唔會啩？ 以下在我Inbox收到個不比香港𣊬色的白色恐怖和打壓⋯⋯想過自殺 LP的故事 “鄭先生您好，我想分享一下我上年在加拿大跟藍絲對抗的事，我沒有人可以傾訴，因為屋企人大部份也是藍絲... 希望不會浪費您太多時間。 我本身在香港銀行界工作了20年，7年前小兒小六畢業，他有興趣到加拿大升學，所以我們便舉家移民到加拿大。來加拿大一年後，我幸運地加入了一間加拿大銀行工作。開始的幾年工作也很順利，因為那時候在銀行工作的華人很小，能說廣東話的也只有我一個。我大部份客人也是中國來的移民，還好我的普通話也可以。我的業績很好，很多客人也從別的銀行轉過來找我幫忙。我工作的時候也大力宣傳香港，跟外國人解釋中國和香港的分別。(因為大部份外國人也以為我是中國來的) 幾年過去，公司請了一批中國來的畢業生，起初大家相安無事，但自從香港發生修例風波，香港人上街示威，支持香港獨立的事發生後，情況就開始有很大變化。每天他們(中國同事)都會以各種話題批評香港的示威，他們會在午餐時向外國同事説香港示威的人是暴力，不守秩序，破壞香港。最可恨的是當中有一位土生土長香港同事，她也站在藍絲的一方，我真是孤身作戰 。我在他們說完後，個別找外國同事解釋我們香港人的立場，為什麼會有那些行動，外國同事也是理解的。我也有向每一個外國客人解釋香港的情况，望多一點人支持。但這事很快便被他們發現，他們對我開始不友善，發信息跟我 罵戰 ，他們還向我的客人(中國客人)告密說我是黃絲，反中國，支持香港獨立... 很多中國客人也開始找他們辨事而不再找我，之後很快... 更可怕的事便發生了。 我一直有幫中國客人在內地的朋友開户，他們來不到加拿大，但可能孩子在這邊讀書，又或者是想把資金滙出中國。我是先用微信跟他們 聯絡，要他們拍本人照片證明是本人，再用他們的護照文件開户。在加拿大這樣的事情其實是不允許的，開户必須本人到分行。(我知道其他中國同事也做着同樣事情。) 我見他們是從自己中國銀行滙錢到新開同名户口，也沒有現金存款，所以可以排除他們是洗黑錢，我便放心幫他們開户。想不到上年7月，突然有一個中國客戶找我，叫我幫他幾個在中國的朋友開户，我個別聯繫了這幾個新客人，也幫他們開了户，但這次我居然中了他們的計。户口正常開完後，不到2星期我便被內部調查組找去問話，他們說有人投訴我盜用身份證文件開户，我怎樣解釋也没用，我跟他們說那些身份證是個別客戶給我的，微信紀錄也有給他們看，但他們不相信，我被即時解僱。銀行方面還出律師信告我，要我賠償銀行損失。我被解僱那一天便收到中國同事的信息，說什麼香港黃絲不會有好下場等... 我找那位介紹那些容人给我的中國客戶，他居然跟我說跟他們中國作對是沒有好下場... 那時我明白發生什麼事了。 我身在的省華人很集中，去T&T也會碰到以前的中國客人，每日擔心銀行法律行動，又因是解僱，所以找不到工作... 我在很大的壓力下，也試過自殺，幸好最後放棄。跟家人商量後，於2019年尾隻身返回香港，和父母同住。因我在加拿大的房和資產，也是在老婆名下，他們告我也拿不到一分錢。我也不想跟老婆仔仔分開，但我在加拿大不可能再找到工作，即使幸運地找到工作，所有的工資也有機會被銀行沒收。我現在只想在香港找到一份工作，養活自己。所以我希望你在加拿大跟藍絲鬥爭的時候，要小心，你真不知道他們會做什麼行動。 另外我在加拿大銀行工作時有負責中國领事館(新華社)的戶口, 他們的帳目很混亂，每有新领事工作人員過來報到的時候，新領事工作人員便會買新車， 寶馬7系，平冶，之後我知道他們回國時會把車也運回中國。每一個月他們銀行户口的數目都不對，尤其有領事工作人員回國，很多時候拿了錢但沒有報消。在2018年中國政府決定把中國領事在銀行的戶口取消，把所有戶口轉到加拿大中國銀行，方便他們查數。” LP謝謝您的信任和允許將這些惡行曝光！ 我們彼此守望。 #流忙歌手 鄭敬基 #加拿大很藍 #拒絕做加豬你都唔會輸 - @joelatte on Instagram

✨ Why buy VINTAGE you ask? ✨Let me drop some knowledge below! 👇👇👇👇👇 🔸 Handmade rugs can last a LIFETIME. All of these vintage rugs are knotted individually by hand which leads to the increased time it takes to make these beauties, some can take months to years to finish. This technique is what leads to these rugs being incredibly durable. 🔸The quality of these rugs cannot compare to machine made cotton rugs. There is nothing like WOOL!!!! If youve ever done a visit -- you know i encourage you to kick off your shoes and walk on them or lay on them! 🙊 🔸Vintage rugs do not lose value. 💯 Occasionally we all change our taste and style up a bit as we grow. These rugs have been around for decades and centuries and are still coveted and at times make the room. I consider all vintage rugs (and other vintage items) an asset for this reason! I plan to hold on to a few of my favorite rugs throughout the years of collecting and pass them down to my mini rug connoisseur. Pass that s*** down for generations to come!!! Your kids will thank you! 🔸The last thing I want to touch on regarding vintage rugs is the history behind them! 🕯️ Some of the antique rugs date back to the early 1900s and I cannot imagine what those rugs have seen in their day. Even a rug thats relatively new has seen more than any machine made rug that comes straight out of the box. My friend @thelesliepalmer shared this photo from her dog walk in Central Park. Temporary hospital tents. As I walked my dog through my neighborhood park today, the military and other care workers had trucks set up to distribute food to those in need. Everyday we leave our apartments to take our dogs out, another change has happened. People who live in smaller, less infected cities, sometimes have a hard time grasping the severity of what is going on here.
