The original architect, Antonio Gaudí, started this massive project knowing he wouldn’t finish saying that God was his client and he has no timeline. He used nature as the foundation of the design. For example each pillar is a different shape and color, representing different trees in a forest and the roof it’s canopy. This masterpiece is a combination of art, nature, and geometry. Castelnuovo, Napoli. Il grandioso ambiente detto “Sala dei Baroni”, che si raggiunge attraverso lo scalone d’onore esterno, venne iniziato sul finire del 1452 e completato intorno al 1457. Esso presenta pianta quadrata con lato di 26 metri, mentre laltezza dellinvaso raggiunge i 28 metri; lo stile della sala rappresenta una delle massime espressioni dellarte gotico-catalana, con la straordinaria configurazione a stella della volta di copertura: una serie di costoloni, in piperno grigio di Pozzuoli, partendo da una forma quadrata che si trasforma poi in ottagono, delineano una stella ad otto punte e sedici nervature con oculo centrale. La struttura di ciascuno degli otto grandi spicchi in cui la volta risulta suddivisa è costituita da una lunetta costolonata nel cui vertice parte un altro costolone che, suddividendo a metà lo spicchio, converge nell’oculo centrale. Sotto le otto lunette si sviluppa una galleria che corre tutta intorno alla Sala. Dei quattro vani luce di cui la Gran Sala è provvista uno è costituito dal balcone trionfale che si affaccia sulla corte del castello, mentre gli altri tre ambienti, due con affaccio verso il mare, il terzo verso la città, terminano all’esterno ciascuno con un grande finestrone a croce in piperno di Pozzuoli. The favorite place in Barcelona - @tali.arqueros Local Friend. Sagrada Familia is my favorite place in Barcelona. Symbol of excellence, it is Gaudís masterpiece and the greatest exponent of modernist architecture. The construction of the project began in 1882, Gaudí took over the following year and remained for the next 43 years until his death in 1926. Among all the complexity of the work, I highlight the 3 main facades: Façade of the Birth: birth of Jesus, light of the world, the only one that Gaudí ended in life, named by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2005. Passion Facade: Death of Jesus. Glory Facade: Resurrection of Jesus. Gaudí wanted the Holy Family to be a link between earth and heaven, it was a project promoted by and for the people, and there are already 5 generations accompanying and supporting the construction of the Temple. Modernism was not just a movement, it reflected and expressed the moment of transition, questioning and attitude of an entire era. For me, the best definition is that it is a movement that links God, man, nature and faith without the dogma of religion, that is, it is totally linked to spirituality in its broadest sense, and in Catalonia it has a personality that differs from all of Europe. In particular, the Sagrada Familia has a deep emotional value, since my mother was born in Barcelona, my sister and I were born and raised in Brazil, but we live the Catalan customs. During our lives, each one of us was in Barcelona at different times, but we had the promise of one day being together in front of the Sagrada, and recently that dream has come true, and the record of that moment is precisely in the facade that I like the most. 🇮🇹 La meravigliosa cupola del Battistero di Parma accoglie e stupisce. Sempre. Il ciclo pittorico affrescato negli anni ’30 del XIII sec. ci osserva dall’alto e viene osservato dai visitatori incantati. Gli occhi poi inevitabilmente si soffermano sulle sculture che Benedetto Antelami e la sua bottega realizzarono verso la fine del XII sec. che rappresentano i mesi e due stagioni con un realismo e un’attenzione al dettaglio che ci lascia a bocca aperta. Come noterete le statue non sono al loro solito posto sul primo loggiato. Al momento si trovano impacchettate e nascoste da un paravento in attesa di essere sistemate per la mostra che sarà inaugurata il 12 settembre “Antelami a Parma. Il lavoro dell’uomo. Il tempo della terra”. Sarà una mostra speciale che permetterà di dialogare con ciascuna scultura a distanza ravvicinata. Non vedo l’ora di poterla raccontare! . . 🇬🇧 The wonderful dome in the Parma Baptistery welcomes and amazes. Any time. The frescos painted in the 1230s observe us from above and are observed by the bewitched visitors. The eye then falls unavoidably on the statues that Benedetto Antelami and his workshop carved at the end of the XII cent. displaying the months and two seasons leaving us speechless for the realism and the accuracy of the details. As you can notice the statues are no more located on the upper loggia. At the moment they are packed and hidden to the view waiting to be set in their place for the exhibition Antelami in Parma. The work of man. The time of the land. A special exhibition that will allow to meet each statue face to face at a very close distance. La Sagrada Família, Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família de son nom complet en catalan, est une basilique de Barcelone dont la construction a commencé en 1882. Leonardo himself proposed a central dome for the building, but his design was not chosen. • Orvieto • Orvieto è uno splendido comune italiano della provincia di Terni, in Umbria. Le sue fondamenta poggiano arroccate su una rupe di tufo, dallalto della quale domina sulla sottostante valle del fiume Paglia. Parliamo di una città millenaria, ricca di storia, arte e cultura tramandata di generazione in generazione. Uno dei simboli, nonché luogo di grande interesse è senza dubbio alcuno la Basilica Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta. Linizio della sua edificazione è addirittura datata 1290, mentre fu completata solamente nel 1591. La facciata della chiesa si staglia monumentale agli occhi dei turisti che sbucano nella piazza dalle viette del centro cittadino, passando accanto alle botteghe degli artigiani, ai negozi della tradizione alimentare e alle innumerevoli locande dove poter assaggiare i prodotti tipici locali. La struttura di Orvieto è protetta da mura megalitiche ricavate dal tufo, che avvolgono lintero perimetro e danno la sensazione di una roccaforte inespugnabile. La sua imperiosità è ragguardevole, tanto da notarla già lungo la strada di avvicinamento al centro cittadino.
