Too often I see people, really low energy, low pitch, kind of low in the chest, which doesn’t really communicate much excitement. Higher pitch usually communicates excitement and also there’s usually a deadness in the face. There’s no smile and there’s no eyebrow engagement. If you just smile and raise your eyebrows, all of a sudden your face comes to life. The person comes to life. People will think, “I don’t necessarily know what they’re saying yet, but I want to talk to that person and I want to work with that person.” You give off this vibe of approachability and passion and warmth and people respond to that. Today is National son’s day and I feel so blessed when I see my boys growing up together happy and healthy💙🙏🏼💙. Yet while I write this post I can’t help but to think about my motherland and all innocent people. No child should see a war no mother should have a fear of losing their child. I cry watching all the videos about war in my motherland I can’t imagine the pain of the moms whose sons have to go to war and waiting and praying every second for they safe return. This week is National Eye Health Week so were sharing Bens story to raise awareness of the importance of routine eye checks. Ben was 14 when he went to the optician for a routine check-up. Within hours he was referred to hospital and a scan revealed he had a brain tumour 💔 Immediate action was required and he underwent surgery in 2013. Ben recovered well but needed further treatment, this time in the US, to halt the growth of his tumour. Bens mum Jane said: “My world had been turned upside down. I had walked into the opticians with a child who seemed perfectly healthy and was just days away from going into year 10 to start his GCSE courses. Less than 24 hours later my son was diagnosed with a brain tumour and needed life-saving surgery. I was 29 weeks pregnant. When Ben turned to me and said: ‘I really want to be here to meet my new baby brother or sister. But that’s not what this post is about. This is about the opportunity to educate a young generation on the rise , starting with my 2 boys. This is a chance to teach them that not everyone looks the same, just like the clouds in the sky there is not 2 alike . I know in my heart it will go beyond that. I know the road ahead will have grooves and pot holes , maybe some construction. At some point it will smooth out as we move forward. I’ll be honest with you I’m excited for the challenges!
