Por incrível que pareça, apesar do exercício se chamar elevação lateral, ele não deve ser executado exatamente nas laterais do corpo, deve seguir um movimento em diagonal, respeitando o plano escapular (movimento feito pelas escapulas). Muito se fala sobre fazer com cotovelo estendido ou flexionado, mas o mais importante a se analisar nesse exercício, são os ossos Úmero e Acrômio, que o atrito dos mesmos podem desenvolver a SIS. Dessa forma, quando fazemos o movimento em diagonal (no plano escapular) evitamos esse atrito entre os ossos. Attention everyone who participated in BARRIER TO ENTRY! I’ve been waiting until we wrapped up the logistics of the fundraiser to make a formal announcement. Thanks to everyone who participated, we raise 6k for BLACK LIVES MATTER. However, thanks to a little navigation, we were able to funnel that money through a corporation that not only matched donations, but doubled the lump sum. Within our contributions, we ended up at a total of 14.1 thousand dollars! Due to this influx of money, we also managed to donate 1.5 k USD to the @dillonojolifelinefoundation . I would like thank everyone who donated! Even the people who couldn’t make it to the event but still sent money anyways. I first picked up a Canon Rebel SLR from a tag sale In the summer of ‘07 and would drop my film off at the local drugstore to be developed. Shortly after that summer I bought a Nikon D40 and shot only digital photos for years, it’s only recently that a photography teacher encouraged me to go back to shooting film, developing and processing everything myself. Nintendo Gamecube Park. Whistler. January 2005. Me and @antone.j.c (who I have been riding with for 20 years) were driving from Alaska to Reno in January with a stop in Whistler. It slammed snow the entire trip down. We had a car go off the road right by the border that we had to fix in a shop in Beaver Creek. When we got on the highway at Whitehorse after dinner it started pounding snow. We would later come to find that the highway was closed while we were on it. We drove through the entire night blasting music, blowing through 1 ft snow drifts in our front wheel drive cars, and dodging caribou and buffalo. When we got to Whistler it was two days of partying and riding. Coming from Fairbanks it was crazy to see so many features that were so well manicured. Maxx Fish is dope when you’re 19. When we showed up to Reno a few days later it had dumped four feet of snow in town. We built backyard parks and every film crew from Mack Dawg to Think Thank to FODT showed up. Recognizing the challenges people are facing each day during such uncertain and sensitive times. Our team took our own step in the right direction today with our first successful training camp @mtbachelor in the books after a long hiatus off snow. Looking forward to our next opportunity to continue working on this progression. Sometimes life can be really cruel. After doing my last knee I rehabbed with a determination I didn’t know existed inside of myself. I took 10 months and spent 20 hour weeks in the gym to get myself back to the thing that gives me the most peace, happiness and ability to express myself. I felt like my work ethic on that recovery was unmatched and when I got back to skiing this past March I felt physically stronger than I have ever been. It was a dark place but lead to me appreciating skiing and life more than ever. This spring and summer I filmed a video that I am really proud of that I thought would mark a strong comeback. I was approaching skiing with a smarter outlook and felt like my spot and trick selection aligned with my new knee and added a great new element to my skiing. This summer on Hood was everything I could have hoped for, lived every day in the moment, was skiing hard, almost every day and enjoying my friends and Oregon. Towards the end of my season on Hood I had one of the best days of my life. The next day, I was skiing with a lot of emotions and so fired up, I made a bad judgement call on speed and got served with some really bad luck as well. I found out that my other ACL is torn and while it’s a lot to process right now I’m going to do my best to come back once again stronger than ever. It’s a long road with no set timetables right now but I still feel like I have so much to offer the ski game, and skiing gives me so much. I love it more than anything in life. I’m heartbroken that I’m going to miss my second winter in a row but like my first one I’ll take this rehab on the chin and make it through the other side. One of the things about Sheepshead is that were high in elevation. The cabin sits at 12,000 ft and the peaks around us are 13,000 ft. So when an early or late season storm rolls through with high elevation snow levels, we still get it. These pics are from Thursday and Friday this week (Sept 10,11). It wasnt crazy deep, but it was really set up, making for some good turns and good sledding to get around. Back to Mid 70 degree temps today. Russell Winfield. 1993. By Trevor Graves. The jeans. The cap. The style. F—king A this photo is sick! — This iconic image was on my wall as a kid, torn from the pages of TWSnow, and it perfectly captures the feeling of change snowboarding was undergoing during those years. In the 80’s and very early 90’s snowboard shapes and graphics basically looked like big wide skis, and most outerwear was a neon nightmare, still heavily influenced by the 80’s surf, ski, and vert skateboarding worlds. When the first handful of riders like Russell started showing up in mags and videos dressed like they were going street skating, with blunted twin board shapes, riding non-snow objects like rails, logs, and picnic tables, it was a mind blowing fusion of the two activities and cultures we all loved. It just slapped us in the face, and overnight we were buying massive jeans that didn’t fit (or keep you warm, or dry), cutting our boards into new shapes, and t-bolting our bindings into wider stances. It opened up a whole world of new trick possibilities and made something already insanely fun even better. In hindsight the shift seems obvious or inevitable, but at the time it took DIY pioneers to follow their hearts, do what they wanted, and put the two together.
