On top of that, many basic human emotions – normal feelings that each and every one of us will repeatedly experience for our lives – fear, sadness, guilt, shock. In any moment, we can get caught up in negative comparisons ♻ , relive painful memory or get lost in a fearful prediction of the future🔮 . Acceptance means opening up and making room for painful feelings, sensations, urges, and emotions 🍃. We drop the struggle with them ⚓, give them some breathing space, and allow them to be as they are. Instead of fighting them, resisting them, running from them 🏃, getting overwhelmed by them, we open up to them and let them be. This doesn’t mean liking them or wanting them. It simply means making room for them. You don’t have to except every single thought and feeling. Acceptance is okay if and when it enables you to act on your values. It’s about accepting our private experiences: thoughts, Feelings, memories, and so on. It’s not about passively accepting our life situation. We must take action to improve our life situation as much as possible. When you get the opportunity to. try to sit with difficult emotions instead of fighting against them or doing something unhelpful to make them go away. 🗣❤️ If you struggle with self love, finding your self compassionate voice, never manage to cheerlead for yourself (but are real acquainted with that critical bully in your mind) then check out the self love toolkit. Bathroom time again 💜🚽 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve had my j-pouch for 2 weeks now and I’ve been spending a lot of time in the bathroom! This is totally normal and expected as my j-pouch is adjusting to its new functionality. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The last time I was in the bathroom this much is when my UC was flaring, over 3 years ago. The j-pouch BM frequency and butt burn gave me some UC flashbacks, but I’m letting that fear go. I have control with my j-pouch, I’m training it to hold on longer, and there’s no cramping or pain compared to UC. Thanks to supplements, diet changes, intermittent fasting, wipes, sudocrem and gastrostop the BMs and butt burn are more under control too. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s early days and I have plenty more healing to do but I’m so grateful to be on this new path with my little j-pouch. 2020...boy do I despise you. This year has been one of the toughest years for me mentally and now physically. With all the chaos and troubles we are facing as a country, I wasn’t sure if there was anymore room for problematic issues....Boy was I wrong. My personal life is being tested as well. I’ve had to question the loyalty of someone I truly thought cared about me and was wrong. I’ve had to build a stronger patience with parenthood and being more independent due to a mother figure walking out on my son’s life. Dealing with loved ones in and out of the hospital. Most recently I found out I tore my ACL for a second time while working. In hindsight there’s always a positive. Amongst all the chaos I’ve learned life is truly what you make it. It’s not about how many times you fall, but how many times you stand up and say hey motherfucker, NOT TODAY! In this steaming pile of shit life has thrown at me recently, I’m grateful for the positive takeaways in my personal life. I’ve forged better relationships with my friends, I’ve learned quality time with family is something most take for granted, I’ve learned what love is not, I’ve been more true to myself and figuring out what I want in life, I’ve bonded with my son more, and now with surgery around the corner I will undergo a true test of having a bulletproof mentality. So for anyone of you guys out there going through struggles and facing adversities, just know it’s not the end. Life doesn’t get easier or more forgiving; we get stronger and more resilient. No Retreat, No Surrender. That’s how we build ourselves up and remember only you control the outcome. So 2020....bring whatever else you got. Totally drenched. Boxing is a lot of fun but difficult. The challenge of learning something new and being a total novice is exciting. Just as you start anything new the initial learning curve is sharp. It’s been about four weeks. I do two to private lessons per week and class on Sunday. The biggest thing is getting in better shape and learning how to move fluently. As a bodybuilder and being heavy you fatigue quickly. Terrible for fighting or combat sports.
