La Biennale Paris chez Christie’s Vente aux enchères en ligne @christiesparis, 24 Sept – 8 Oct 2020 __ @galerie.aveline – Jean-Marie Rossi présente une bibliothèque tournante japonaise d’époque Meiji par Kusamae Iwato Todai, datant du dernier quart du XIXe siècle. Cette rarissime bibliothèque pourrait-être une œuvre réalisée par le Japon dans le but d’une Exposition Internationale. On peut penser à l’une des Expositions parisienne (1878, 1889, 1900) ou australienne (Melbourne 1880). La bibliothèque tournante a été inventée en Chine par Fu Dashi (497-569) sous la dynastie Liang (502-557). Cette bibliothèque pour les Sutras (les livres canoniques bouddhistes) pouvait être tournée comme un moulin à prière. On peut observer une bibliothèque tournante à sutras au temple de Hase-Dera à Kamakura au Japon. Depuis 64 ans que Jean-Marie Rossi exerce le métier d’antiquaire au sein de la galerie AVELINE. La galerie présente des chefs d’œuvres venant de toute l’Europe, qui ont tous en commun leur qualité, leur authenticité mais aussi leur originalité, datant de la fin du XVIIe siècle jusqu’au milieu du XIXe siècle et souvent de provenances royales ou princières. __ @galerie.aveline – Jean-Marie Rossi presents a Japanese bookcase signed by Kusamae Itawo Todai, Meiji period, last quarter 19th century. This extremely rare object could be a work produced by Japan for the purpose of an International Exhibition. One could imagine it could have been made for one of the Parisian (1878, 1889, 1900) or indeed Australian (Melbourne 1880) Universal Exhibitions. The revolving bookcase was invented in China by Fu Dashi (497-569) during the Liang dynasty (502-557) to house the Sutras (the Buddhist canonical books) so that it could be turned like a prayer wheel. A rotating sutra bookcase can be seen at the Hase-Dera temple in Kamakura, Japan. Jean-Marie Rossi has been practicing as an antique dealer at the AVELINE gallery for 64 years. The gallery presents masterpieces from all over Europe, which all have in common their quality, authenticity, and originality, dating from the end of the 17th century to the middle of the 19th century and often of royal or princely provenance. - @labiennaleparis on Instagram

Here we see a very atmospheric photo of the #WWII #memorial #sculpture which is titled Monument to the Fallen Fighters and Victims of Fascism from Slabinja, which honors the local people of this village who perished at the hands of Axis forces and their collaborators during the Peoples Liberation Struggle (1941-1945). The work consists of a roughly 15m tall stainless steel spire bisected by a red #concrete #triangle. This work is in a poor condition and even has been marred by bullet holes in some areas.
