The swab should be angled to follow the floor of the nose, not the bridge, and the depth required to reach the nasopharynx is often surprising: approximately 9 to 10 cm in adults. Having a cervix or uterus that tilts back toward your spine is a normal variation of the uterine position in the pelvis. Most of the time, women with a tipped uterus dont have any symptoms at all. A tipped uterus shouldnt have any impact on your ability to get pregnant or have a baby. You may have a tipped uterus because: * Your uterus did not move forward as you matured. * The position of your uterus changed after you gave birth to a child. * You have had fibroid tumors or scarring from endometriosis, surgery, or an infection in the pelvis. Most women have no symptoms at all. Possible symptoms are trouble using tampons, problems urinating, and back pain, especially during a menstrual period. Sometimes, prescribed exercises can temporarily move the uterus to a forward position. Other women benefit from a pessary – a plastic vaginal device that keeps the uterus in place. If you are suffering from a lack of adequate stability it can lead to things like rotator cuff tears, tendinitis, or bursitis depending on what’s really going on in that shoulder. You have the ability right now to stop the progression of posture issues, shoulder pain, neck pain and so much more. • One of the most common injuries of the shoulder is impingement. This means that a structure (tendon) in your shoulder is being rubbed or pinched when your going through a specific range of motion ❌ You may have impingement if reaching overhead or behind you caused a sharp pain 😬🤕A great way to help treat this is by activating the muscles that help pull your shoulder back into proper position, and open space inside the shoulder joint such as the rotator cuff. • Complete each exercise 8-10 times. We are kicking off a new series about digital dentistry with the leadership of our very own @celin.arce Digital dentistry is a term that is used a lot and encompasses many aspects of dentistry (optical impressioning, digital radiography, intra/extra-oral photography, design/planning software, CAD/CAM fabrication, digital dentures, 3D printing, etc). For this first foray into digital dentistry, we are going to talk about applications of digital dentistry for which you combine a 3D intraoral digital model with a 3D CBCT radiograph. CBCT stands for Cone Beam Computer Tomography. These images are used in surgery (pathology, implant placement), endodontics (location of canals), periodontics (bone visualization), TMJ (visualization of condyle in fossa) to see the 3rd dimension (buccal-lingual). CBCT differs from a spiral CT (ie those used in hospitals) due to the fact the machine operates by rotating the x-ray source/detector around the patients head rather than moving the patient through a tube. CBCTs are used in dentistry because they produce less radiation exposure (about 10x less for maxillofacial region) and the machines are lower in cost (around $75,000-100,000) than conventional CTs. See story for comparison of radiation doses. CBCTs are saved as DICOM files (these are a standard file format for medical imaging data) and can be viewed on DICOM viewers (some free ones are Blue Sky Bio, Planmecca Romexis Viewer). Digital models can be obtained by using an intraoral optical scanner (ie 3shape, CEREC) or by digitizing a conventional impression/model (laboratory scanner). Most intraoral scanners are now “open”, meaning that you can directly export the scan file (which is saved as an .stl file). And there are many different software programs that can open .stl files. If you want to edit an .stl file or merge an .stl file and DICOM file, you will need some additional software. We will be getting more into these topics over the next couple weeks. Selain memperingati HUT Republik Indonesia, bulan ini adalah bulan dimana anak pertama kami Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) dan cucu pertama Almira Tunggadewi Yudhoyono berulangtahun. AHY lahir pada 10 Agustus 1978 di sebuah klinik di Dayeuhkolot, Bandung. Sedangkan Almira lahir pada 17 Agustus 2008, di Jakarta. Saya ingat, dulu waktu istri tercinta Ani mau melahirkan AHY, air ketubannya pecah di kendaraan jip militer yang saya kemudikan. Sehingga begitu sampai di pelataran poliklinik persalinan, saya langsung menggendongnya menuju ke kamar persalinan. Bahkan, saya menunggui dan memberikan semangat saat bidan membantu proses kelahiran AHY di ruang persalinan. Sedangkan di tahun 2008, saya dan Almh Ibu Ani sungguh berbahagia karena dikaruniai cucu perempuan yang lahirnya tepat di Hari Ulang Tahun Kemerdekaan RI ke-63. Saya ingat hari itu adalah hari yang sangat panjang. Tengah malam memimpin Renungan Suci di TMP Kalibata; pagi hari memimpin Upacara Detik-Detik Proklamasi; sore hari Penurunan Bendera serta malam harinya Resepsi Kenegaraan. Namun, sebelum upacara bendera pagi hari saya dan almarhumah menyempatkan waktu untuk menunggui proses persalinan Annisa di RSPI. Bahkan almarhumah menunggui dan memberikan semangat di ruang persalinan kepada Annisa. Selamat ulang tahun yang ke-42 untuk anakku AHY dan ke-12 untuk cucuku Almira. Jangan lupa mari kita sama-sama kirimkan Al Fatihah untuk almarhumah Memo tercinta. Semoga segala cita-citamu dapat tercapai dan semoga pula kalian selalu dilindungi Allah SWT.
