Uma operação provocada pelo MPF teve o objetivo de encaminhar providências para retomar lotes destinados a beneficiários da reforma agrária que foram arrendados ou vendidos de forma irregular no Assentamento Dona Helena, em Cruz do Espírito Santo (PB), município da Região Metropolitana de João Pessoa. A ação foi conduzida nesta segunda-feira (31) pelo Instituto Nacional de Colonização e Reforma Agrária (Incra) e pela Polícia Federal. É que uma vistoria realizada em 2019 apurou que vários beneficiários e ex-beneficiários, ou seja, famílias excluídas do Programa Nacional de Reforma Agrária (PNRA), fracionaram e venderam 17 parcelas do assentamento, praticamente transformando a área em um bairro residencial. Com isso, foram criados pelo menos 800 terrenos – a maioria deles já com construções de alvenaria, onde residem centenas de famílias que não se enquadram nos requisitos para serem beneficiadas com lotes da reforma agrária. Após verificadas as ilegalidades no desmembramento de lotes, o MPF deverá propor ações na Justiça. Makinde urges FG to site gemstone market in Oyo …calls for economic diversification through mining ....As Mines and Steel Devt minister visits Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has called on the Federal Government to site the hub of the nation’s gemstone market in the state in order to boost the mining industry in Nigeria. The governor, who stated this while receiving the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Arch. Olamilekan Adegbite, at the Government House, Agodi Ibadan, also sought for the support of the Federal Government to curb the activities of illegal miners. He maintained that the state has already been putting some structures in place to enhance the development of its solid mineral development sector and position the state to benefit maximally from the immense opportunities available in the sector. A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, indicated that the governor added that in line with his promise to build infrastructure that targets the economic expansion agenda of the administration, a number of projects are being put up to support the mining industry. He said: We do have some aspirations, which I think we can collaborate on, especially the gemstone market. It is informal right now but we want to formalise it. I know you are from Ogun State but Abeokuta should not even be in competition with us and I will tell you why. Here, we are putting up a number of projects that we think would support the mining industry, especially in the aspect of the expansion of Ibadan Airport. So, quite frankly, if we have the gemstone market, we will basically just take off from there to anywhere in the world and that is what we want to do. Ibadan used to be a regional capital and we have a fairly developed infrastructure. So, I think you should just give the gemstone market to us and let us sign it up this evening. Hace unos días dí una opinión sobre una bellísima canción, que compite en el Concurso Adolfo Guzmán 2019. Fue un comentario sobre un verso que pudo tener una mejor construcción poética para evitar una visión menos machista y más respetuosa a la imagen de la mujer. He recibido comentarios a favor y en contra. Nunca fue mi intención afectar la obra en el concurso. Tampoco ganar aplausos. Y mucho menos generar polémica. Reitero, creo que es una bella pieza. Si así no fuera, con la tremenda responsabilidad que tuvimos esa noche los jurados por la calidad de las obras esa noche, bastaba con dar una calificación menor a 85 puntos. No fue así. Hice la observación y luego voté con la misma honestidad. No se puede andar por la vida segmentando las temáticas. La vida es una e indivisible. Todo está relacionado. En nuestro país, día por día se inunda el éter y los espacios públicos con obras que dañan la imagen de la mujer. Ya tenemos feminicidio en números preocupantes. ¿Acaso no debemos ayudar a crear conciencia sobre estos temas de género y respeto a los derechos de las mujeres? Pues yo creo que si. Ready for the road: Grange unveils anti-doping mobile unit Kingston, 30 September 2020 – The Minister of Culture, Gender Entertainment & Sport, the Honourable Olivia Grange, has unveiled Jamaica’s first ever national anti-doping mobile unit. Minister Grange officially handed over the especially retrofitted bus to the Chairman of the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission, Alexander Williams, and the Executive Director of the Commission, June Spence Jarrett, during a special ceremony this afternoon (Wednesday). “It is retrofitted to facilitate able-bodied athletes, athletes with disabilities, and paralympians — so we cover the wide spectrum of the constituents that we have to serve,” said Minister Grange. She said the unit would boost JADCO’s ‘clean sports’ mission. Also present for the unveiling were the Minister of State in the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Honourable Alando Terrelonge; Permanent Secretary, Denzil Thorpe; and Olympic Sprint Hurdler, Megan Tapper. Minister Grange said the JADCO mobile unit is the second in the world to be operated by a national anti-doping organisation. Minister Grange said: “The only other national anti-doping organisation in the world that has a similar unit is the Japan anti-doping organisation. The DAO, Mural Arts Philadelphia, and Fair and Just Prosecution on Wednesday unveiled the public exhibition of the groundbreaking DAO Artist-in-Residence program. James “Yaya” Hough, a former juvenile lifer and now an accomplished artist, completed a 10-month residency with the DAO to explore the human toll of incarceration and highlight the importance of creating alternatives to a punitive and incarceration-driven justice system. Hough’s exhibit, “Points of Connection,” will be on display across the city, offering the public a chance to engage in direct dialogue on criminal justice reform issues. This unique project is one of the Activating Art and Advocacy projects funded by generous support from Art for Justice. A large-scale vinyl window installation of all of the portraits is available for public viewing at the Office of the District Attorney, 3 South Penn Square (across from City Hall). “Our efforts to remake the criminal justice system — the most powerful and opaque of American institutions — require us to recognize the humanity of all people, including people who are involved in the system,” District Attorney Larry Krasner said. “For many years, Mr. Hough has looked at a system that broke lives and communities more often than it repaired harm and trauma. Art has a unique ability to reveal the complexities of the human experience. Congregants who have obtained a slot in the past 4 weeks will not be eligible to register. Let us continue to allow more members of the community who have not been able to secure a slot the opportunity to perform the Friday prayers during this period. We will notify the community should there be any revision to this current guideline. Should you feel unwell or are unable to attend the session you have been allocated for, please cancel your booking at least 1 hour before the session begins. Leaving a Legacy On Heritage Day 2020 the Kolisi Foundation team together with some amazing helpers renovated our everyday hero’s backyard, Lungi. Her backyard is the space where she feeds the seniors during the week, stores food items for the community kitchen, packs food parcels and where her daily operations are run from. With some fun, all the work got done: Laying off an astro turf, planting a vegetable garden, landscaping, shelving, and tables and benches placed and constructed. Menstruation should never have to be a hindrance to any girl trying to achieve her dreams! Being in the middle of matric exams, and knowing that 30% of South African girls miss at least a day of school because of a lack of access to sanitary products, I collected enough sanitary pads to donate to an entire matric grade at an impoverished school near me. In many poor communities menstruatrual health is not a topic that is talked about, and this affects the health of many young girls, of which usually have to turn to socks, paper or tissue as alternatives to sanitary products. This past Friday, Dr. Grant Colfax joined Mayor @londonbreed , District 11 Supervisor @ahshasafai and community partners at the OMI mobile COVID Testing site at 50 Broad Street. Our community mobile testing sites have visited the Mission, the Excelsior, Visitation Valley, Sunnydale, the OMI, the Tenderloin and the Bayview, among others. Our community mobile testing strategy allows us to respond to where the virus is spreading fastest and to bring testing and wraparound services that are needed to manage the virus if you are ill. Due to the overwheleming positive response of the pilot speed hump installations in 2018, Mayor Duggan announced that the City will triple the number of speed humps installed in neighborhoods next year to 4500. Both our older and younger players in Rwanda had a week of activities and discussion around consent, and learned a lot about boundaries, and how to respect them. 9 year old, Hope Gihozo Raisa said “I learned to ask permission to touch someone before doing it. We practiced this in the game. Before tapping our feet together we first negotiated and agreed on a style and method of how to do it. Today we officially handed over the breastfeeding room at Kapenguria County refferal Hospital to West Pokot County. It was officially opened by the Governor of West Pokot Prof John Lonyangapuo. The room will benefit over 500 female health workers who work in Kapenguria County Referral Hospital who are are still breastfeeding. Mothers coming to the hospital to seek treatment and are breastfeeding as well as those admitted are also welcome to use the room. This breastfeeding room is a collaborative effort between us, the Ministry of Health of Kenya and Hellen Keller International towards accreditation of the Kapenguria County Referral Hospital as baby-friendly hospital Action against Hunger in partnership with Hellen Keller International deeply appreciates Global Affairs Canada (@gacanada.amcanada ) for the support towards the refurbishing and purchase of equipment for the room. - @acf.kenya on Instagram
