Students dont care how much you know, until they know how much you care. How fitting today to recognize the teachers ❤ While Ive had quite a number of great, influential teachers in my life... (oh, I could name so many!!) I especially want to recognize @kim311. Its World Appreciation Day, after all! Since our kiddos started attending Lyndale its been easy to trust that the staff really cares about each student. It really hit home though the moment we had our first video call, at the start of the lock-down. I honestly thought my son was going to zone out... I didnt think a pixelated chat would keep his attention. But my boy LIT UP. He was thrilled - it seemed like a weight lifted off him just from hearing her voice. In that moment, I couldnt help but appreciate the heart that she has clearly given as she leads the school. Kim, I just want you to know how much we are thinking of you as you lead through this next chapter... so I officially nominate Kim for the #GenerousEducators2020 challenge, from @generous_coffee_ ! ☕ Theyre going to choose an educator to win a care package - and this woman certainly deserves it! I had a lot of fun doing a deep dive into the world of @youngturks latest signing; his fascinating music, his work with @fkatwigs and the fantastic music videos that accompany his recent tracks. Inspired by his song ‘Everybody’s Dying to Meet You’ I worked in a subtle skull into the composition of this illustration (swipe to second slide). - In “The Big Short” (2015) Christian Bale took a two week crash course on drumming to actually play the drums to Pantera’s “By Demons Be Driven.” To prepare for the scene he listened to nothing but Pantera and Mastodon. He insisted on performing the double bass parts with an injured knee.
This year – october 9th – John would celebrate his 80. Birthday. I miss him very much and I think often of the many experiences we shared . For example singing with him together in duet of his cover version of “Bring It On Home to Me” was very exciting for me. It was part of a medley on his Rock ‘n’ Roll Album (Release 1975). The amazing orginial was sang by Sam cook and Lou Rawls. My new artprint reflects this very special moment. A drop of bitterness was my bass sound and Jesse Ed’s wonderful guitar solo caused by the mixing sound engineer who used compressor and limiter. „AP65 - Bring it on home to me“ Now available in the shop.
