Without theatre, music, dance and performing arts this city would be hollow, and the industry needs every bit support we can get to make it through. If you can, buy a ticket to a show even if it’s in a years time, go for a drink at a foyer bar or a music venue that has repurposed itself rather than a Weatherspoons, eat out at independents rather than multinational chains. 7-9 Rathbone Street used to be Jacksons Garage and during World War 2 it was commandeered for an Auxiliary Fire Service substation. At around midnight on 18 September 1940 it was directly hit by a bomb, partly demolishing the building and killing civilians, as well as seven members of the Auxiliary Fire Service. Last Friday 18 September a small memorial ceremony took place at the site to mark 80 years to the day since the firefighters were killed and to pay tribute to the bravery of one of the survivors who acted quickly to save other lives at the site. Auxiliary fireman Alfred George Abrahart, auxiliary fireman Arthur Batchelor, leading auxiliary fireman Jack Bathie, leading auxiliary fireman George Bowen, auxiliary fireman Robert William George, auxiliary fireman Benjamin Mansbridge, and auxiliary fireman Myer Wand all died. Flavours: The Mint Club have a set menu for Shisha flavours. The prices start at £15 and is no more than £20, not unless you start to add fruit head, ice pipes etc. It is worth noting as there was a confusion, that they only use Khalil Mamoon Shisha’s. For Shisha I had asked for a recommendation; they gave me Frozen Blueberry with Frozen Lychee with a touch of Irn Bru. I had originally asked to try out a new flavour and it smelt amazing, but when I smoked it, it wasn’t for me I asked for a new Shisha altogether. They do give disposable pipes and the Shisha was decent an lasted the time I was there. Price: The pricing of food is in par with places in the area, the most expensive item being the Large Pizza with Stuff crust which is £11.95p For food I ordered MC Legend Burger which is a 6oz beef patty, for Mocktail Passion Mist. The food was the right amount and was a decent meal. Overall: This was my second visit to The Mint Club, I saw a not so positive review about this place so I decided to turn up on boxing night. I asked a male friend to join me to have a low-key night out underdressed and no tagging etc, just as a regular customer to see if my experience is the same. As we entered we were greeted within two minutes, they were starting to get busy, they gave us a choice of seating as at that point there were some empty spaces, handed us the menu and said we will be back in 5 minutes so we can decide what to order. I decided to get indecisive, eventually I asked for a recommendation it was pineapple crush and something else, so nice. On that particular night they were fully staffed and considering it got really busy the service was good. I revisited yesterday and I went literally when they opened, so staff were busy preparing and cleaning getting ready for the night ahead. The Pyramid in Sale was one of the last Egyptian style cinemas to be built in England. — Built in 1933, it was designed as the Pyramid Theatre by architect Joseph Gomersall. There are many things in memory of her in Camden. We visited the ‘Amy Winehouse statue’ sculpted by Scott Eaton. It was honestly amazing! We then saw her plaque on the Camden walk of fame which was awarded to her back in March. I also managed to spot little paintings and art pieces around the town. And then, I went to see her house xxx I put a little note amongst others to tribute to her and saying how much I admire her xxx (I did get a bit emotional) but I am happy about how she is always remembered in the hearts of many xxx she was and will always be a true and amazing artist and I will love her forever! I honestly advise going to Camden even if you aren’t an Amy winehouse fan! Nivea Men, the official men’s grooming partner to Liverpool FC, has unveiled a giant mural in Liverpool city centre to celebrate its long-standing partnership with the team and to congratulate it on its League championship win. Devised by Carat UK and Posterscope together with Mural Republic, the striking mural features a hyper-real recreation of a photo of the players embraced in a hug and is supported by a digital out of home takeover throughout the city. Multiple high impact screens across roadside, rail, POS and shopping malls leading with creative that combines Jürgen Klopp’s famous “Boom” with the Nivea Men logo, and the #sharethecare to encourage sharing on social media. The mural is situated on one of the largest available sites in the UK. The out of home activity is part of a larger campaign that features a digital partnership with Sky Sports and Sky Sports News, including social media, plus TV and video ads, a cover wrap of the Liverpool Echo and a programme to supply tablets to selected retirement homes in the city to help residents stay connected with love ones.
