The biggest change was on the inside. I look back at the person I was and I wish I could hug myself, give myself the love I didnt think I deserved. Life was a lot harder back then, and I owe that to my drinking. Drinking was my number one priority. Nothing else mattered. It didnt matter that I stopped caring about myself. It didnt matter that I was abusing my body and my mind. It didnt matter that I pushed everybody else away in my life in a way to self-sabotage. It didnt matter that I blacked out constantly. Alcohol took over and I felt trapped, stuck in my own personal prison. I didnt think I was capable of leaving this prison I had built. I didnt think I deserved anything else. I got so used to hating myself that I lost all willingness to fight. Seeing how I was then and seeing how I am now, I feel like a completely different person.
