BIG DIET VS Dream Aesthetics wat is het verschil? 🧐 . Een aantal weken geleden schreven wij een post over het toenmalige televisieprogramma Big Diet - recap: hieraan deden een aantal kandidaten mee om zo snel mogelijk binnen slechts een aantal weken zoveel mogelijk gewicht te verliezen. Uitkomst? Iedereen was een jaar later zwaarder dan voor het programma. 👎👎👎 . Niet vol te houden = niet duurzaam! . Om aan te tonen hoe duurzaam resultaat bereikt wordt nemen we Whitney even als voorbeeld! . Dit is Whitney! Ze kwam in Januari 2018 naar ons toe en woog bijna 115kg (SWIPE voor foto’s) - we hebben toen exact 1 jaar erover gedaan om helemaal fit te worden. In Januari 2019 werd het tijd om op haar eigen benen te staan. We hebben haar sindsdien niet meer gesproken of gezien (1,5 jaar niet meer dus). We waren erg benieuwd hoe het nu met haar ging dus het werd tijd om weer eens even bij te praten. . Hoe gaat het nu 1,5 jaar later? Ze vertelde ons dat ze al sinds Augustus vorig jaar niet meer in de gym was geweest en dat ze lekker genoot van het leven. . Het resultaat? Hier en daar was ze een paar kilootjes aangekomen maar ze is nog steeds meer dan 35kg kwijt. Mega goed dus! Echt iets om trots op te zijn. Ze heeft ons beloofd om het sporten na vandaag weer op een rustig tempo te onderhouden en om de frisdrank weer iets te matigen. You can do it Whitney! . Dit bewijst maar weer eens dat de beoogde resultaten ook écht duurzaam zijn! I’ve been avoiding posting this for two days. Everything about it scares me, but I want to be as authentic on this page as I can be. When I was seven years old, my doctor told me it was time to lose some weight. I had never been overweight or even though about that kind of issue, but from then on it consumed my mind. I began to hate my body and I developed an unhealthy relationship with it. When I was in middle school, I constantly remember the boys teasing me because I’d developed faster than other girls. Not only did this make me ashamed, but the grown men who would comment on me only made me more embarrassed and scared of how I looked. This pattern only continued through high school as I constantly got harassed by dress code rules that I tried to insistently follow, but consistently lead to a discussion of how my body type needed to be covered up more. When I went to college, I couldn’t tell you if things got better or worse. Part of me was extremely confident, I felt good and loved how I looked. But the other part of me went even worse. I was ashamed I didn’t look more like my friends or that the boy I liked didn’t want to date me because I looked the way I did. I’ve constantly dealt with being body shamed and it has eaten away to the point where I can’t bear to look at a photo of myself without any edits. I’m trying to love myself more, and I know that by no means is my story something special. After all, I’m just a size 10 white girl. Yet, this is the way that society makes me feel. A society designed to cater to those who look like me still constantly puts pressure on women to be perfect, be ashamed of how they look, and make them question everything about themselves. I can’t pretend that I love my body, but I’m trying.
