🎉 𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒐𝒇𝒇 完了! ✨ It has been quite the ride, with so many firsts that I will be taking down memory lane in time to come Im sure ~ It was the 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭: * Competition this introvert had ever put myself in (I struggled so so so hard because while I relish in what my craft does, I really hate troubling people 🙏) * Time I had felt so hotttt, literally, for 3wks straight (packing a staycay at Farrer hosp at what I hope is the end of the road 😕) * Wave of recognition Id gotten consistently from people in the industry - from getting the Golden Leap in audition round all the way till the Grand Finals. To have been told I belonged on the stage, that i was an all-rounder whose hard work was evident and to have been called just perfect, really meant the world to me. * Cyber-love Ive ever experienced, from strangers who recognized my work and showed their unbiased support to me being their winner 🙏 But then..... There was also this memorable first - 𝒃𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚-𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒅. (&, from the same person that said I was perfect. #confused) The brain work in such.... Unfathomable ways. Why cannot just auto filter the bad shit out 😒 Undeniably, it leads me to wonder if hard work and talent truly mattered less than how one looked, & if we cld really be comfy in our skins as performers. How much more can one put in............. To feel like you have done enough/you are enough? Haiyaaaaa (Uncle Rogers voice ringing) TMD la Van. You went thru a grueling jaw reconstructive surgery to fix the bloody underbite so you can talk and look better, spent almost 15yrs of training in various forms, cldnt walk cuz of that darned slipped disc which is a time bomb that goes off any effing time; whats a comment about needing to shed some kgs?!?! K la some of you so sweet blame the dress blame the hair, but it meeeee la. I will say goodbye to my flabs after I kick this damned virus outta my body. We hand picked each one and had them completely deconstructed, then reconstructed into the most amazing NR bomber! Salah satunya yaitu terapi plasma convalescent. Direktur Lembaga Molekuler Eijkman Prof. Amin Soebandrio mengatakan bahwa terapi ini menggunakan plasma pasien yang sudah sembuh. Amin menjelaskan bahwa tubuh manusia akan terbentuk antibodi ketika terinfeksi jamur, bakteri atau virus. Terapi plasma merupakan pendekatan dengan mekanisme itu. “Nah, antibodi itu ketika pasiennya sudah sembuh berarti pasiennya sudah bisa mengatasi infeksinya itu bisa dipakai untuk membantu orang lain yang masih sedang sakit. Jadi prinsipnya seperti zona,” jelas Amin dalam dialog di Media Center Gugus Tugas Nasional, Jakarta, pada Jumat (26/6). Menurut Amin, pengambilan plasma dilakukan pada pendonor yang sehat dan berjenis kelamin laki-laki meskipun perempuan berpeluang. Pemilihan jenis kelamin karena laki-laki tidak memiliki antigen HLA. “Itu mungkin yang akan bisa membuat masalah di resipiennya. Kalau perempuan boleh, bersyaratnya tidak boleh sedang hamil atau bisa dipastikan bisa diperiksa. Kemudian kita mesti memastikan kondisi kesehatan yang lainnya, laboratorium harus baik, Covidnya harus negatif, dan persyaratan donor darah harus terpenuhi. Misalnya dia tidak boleh mengandung malaria, virus HIV, hepatitis dan sebagainya. Seringkali saya menulis tentang anjuran kedamaian dalam kehidupan beragama dan penghargaan terhadap keyakinan orang lain, namun seringkali ditanggapi dengan tudingan kafir, liberal, sekuler dan berbagai caci maki lainnya. Respon sesederhana ini - menurut saya ini sederhana - adalah bentuk radikalisme. Aksi penyerangan terhadap orang lain dengan stigma buruk berbasis keyakinan adalah bagian dari radikalisme. Setidaknya batasan ini dibuat oleh tulisan anonim pada tahun 1870; Radicalism, what is it? A letter to a West Kent elector. Radikalisme memang teka teki. Tidak pernah menemukan definisi yang baku, bahkan dalam perspektif hukum sekalipun. Di negara kita banyak tindakan radikal secara verbal atau tekstual, pada akhirnya hanya berputar pada dakwaan ujaran kebencian atau penistaan agama. Sementara tindakan radikal tidaklah sesederhana itu, ada indoktrinasi ideologi ekstrim di belakangnya. Untuk itulah banyak kasus hukum radikal di negara kita berhenti cukup pada tersangka - tidak sanggup menjangkau inspiratornya. Radikalisme lalu terus bergulir, meracuni masyarakat kita. Yang sangat menarik adalah apa yang ditulis oleh Dr. Usamah Sayyid al-Azhary dalam kitab Al-Haqq al-Mubin, bahwa radikalisme dalam Islam pada dasarnya soal kecintaan kepada tanah air. Ketika seseorang berupaya melemahkan entitas sebuah negara dalam bentuk apapun, maka ini termasuk aksi radikalisme. Simpel. Apalagi jika seseorang berasumsi bahwa membela negara tidak ada dalil agama yang menguatkannya. Menurut Usamah, kelompok radikal selalu menganggap bahwa batas geografis suatu negara adalah produk imperialis, dan pemerintahannya adalah tandingan dari Khilafah Darul Islam. Maka semua yang berada di dalamnya adalah kaum Jahiliyah yang wajib diperangi. Bahkan jika hukum yang dipakai bukan hukum Islam, maka negara tersebut dianggap Darul Harbi, negara kafir. Asumsi seperti inilah yang seringkali membuat umat Islam hanya dijadikan mesin perang politik. Agama Islam tidak pernah melarang loyalitas partikular dalam koridor universal. Today is #AlumniSunday and we are proud to feature Miriam Abel (she/her), Senegal ‘19 alum who is currently studying International and Indigenous Studies at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. During @mirison.cruiso’s time in Senegal, she reflected on Senegals colonial history and her role as a white woman going to a former French colony extensively. She thought about how to learn and reflect on ones identity, but also utilize the privileges one has to stand up for social justice. Since then, she has engaged in several forms of action in Canada, especially toward fighting for Indigenous sovereignty and self-determination for Indigenous people. She understands that she as a white person can stand up and face less consequences than Indigenous people, Black people, or a Person of Colour. Hence, she co-founded @JusticeNoPipeline.SFU (JNP), a student-led organization that opposes the proposed pipeline that would go through unceded Indigenous territory in British Columbia and Alberta, despite not gaining Indigenous consent. JNP has organized several student-walkouts, speak-ups, and demonstrations across Vancouver. Their latest action was writing an open letter to Canadas Prime Minister to cancel the pipelines construction. 13 student unions from Canada and the US have signed; representing about 680,000 students. The campaign, #studentsagainstTMX has gained Canada-wide media attention and Miriam is glad that she and her peers work is being recognized and heard. She understands that students are the future generation and their actions matter - today and tomorrow and thereafter! Last year, I vowed to my 30s to live in the natural flow of where life takes me and open myself up to say Yes new and healthy experiences, say No to things that dont support my well-being and create boundaries to protect myself. And of course so many more adventures. While I am not where I thought I would be on my 31st birthday ( and 2020 has not provided the means for adventures as I had originally intended), I have been able to uphold these promises and came across different kinds of adventures and experiences.
