I wrestled and agonized over this decision but I literally couldn’t stop thinking about it, even in my sleep. My soul was a 🔥 yes but my mind adamant that my plate was already too full. • Yet my soul is so stubborn and at the eleventh hour I committed despite the impracticality of the timing I am thrilled to say I joined @innatetraditions 6 month post partum doula training 🙏🏾💥✨ • Despite knowing about the 40 day tradition, I had zero plan around my own post partum period, and was up at 6am the day after my cesarean surgery limping to pack lunch for my oldest. It still makes me want to cry 😭 • In a wider context this body of work is about midwifing a cultural shift, centering mothers as the immune system of our species, aligning with the Earth and the vital principle, among many other things. So vast and so deep. • I am so honored to be initiated into the sacred order of birth workers. Paciente de 38 anos, com baixa reserva ovariana e marido com fator masculino apresentando baixa concentração de espermatozóides (ologozoospermia grave), começaram o tratamento de fertilização in vitro. Primeira indução ovariana não obtivemos nenhuma resposta. Mudamos todo protocolo e fomos para outra indução ovariana e obtivemos 02 óvulos!! Os 02 óvulos fecundaram, desenvolveram 02 embriões e transferimos os 02 embriões para dentro do útero!! Hoje os 02 embriões são o Murillo e a Beatriz, essas duas mãozinha abençoadas que vieram mostrar para nos que mesmo em toda dificuldade, NADA É IMPOSSÍVEL!!! A huge benefit of breastfeeding is that breastfed babies are less likely to catch or develop infections, and if they do, they are likely to recover more easily. Breastmilk is a live product full of antibodies and other stuff designed to help boost a babys immune system. Because breastmilk is a live substance, it can change according to your babys needs. If a mother is exposed to an infection she will start producing antibodies against it, and pass these on to her baby through her breastmilk. This means that a baby will get a dose of antibodies too, to help them fight off the infection. These antibodies are one of the main reasons why any breastmilk is better than no breastmilk, and why continuing to breastfeed your baby once they are eating solid foods and past the first year continues to offer protection for them over and above nutrients in the milk. (VEJAM A ÚLTIMA FOTO) ✨SMAM - Semana Mundial do Aleitamento Materno✨ Era 26.03.16. Às 21h25 ela nascera. Eu renascia ali, naquele momento. Em meio ao êxtase por parir em casa e quebrar todos os protocolos do sistema, eu jamais imaginara que o mais difícil estava por vir. Por volta das 21h30 já estávamos no outro quarto. Imprinting 💦 Ainda não tinha parido a placenta, eu sentia o cordão pulsando em minhas pernas, nos envolvendo como laço que jamais será desfeito. Te coloquei no peito. Eu achava que sabia! Eu acreditava que só bastava colocar no peito e tudo fluiria. Eu estava muito enganada. Naquele dia começaria a nossa saga que durou EXATOS 54 DIAS. Eu jamais me esquecerei desse número. Foram 54 dias de tortura, de negação, de não me aceitar por não saber amamentar, de dedicação, de muita DOR. Mesmo com o mundo contra, eu jamais te ofereci qualquer outro alimento, filha. Eu não desisti. Eu sabia que ia me superar. Era difícil vê-la chorando e gritar junto quando ela grudava em meu peito! Era um misto de leite, sangue e lágrimas, literalmente. Um mamilo que quase necrosou, uma mente que não estava saudável, uma mãe que só queria ser capaz de nutrir sua cria sem dor. Eu me questionava todos os dias se aquela tortura iria passar. As inúmeras idas à Santa Monica eram em vão. Porque lá eu me sentia segura, eu aprendia. E ao cruzar a porta de vidro eu desaprendia tudo. O que faltava? MENTE SÃ! La maternité est une chose à laquelle personne ne peut nous préparer. Tout dun coup, il y a un nouveau membre dans la famille, un membre qui na jamais existé. Peu importe le temps que nous avons passé à nous préparer à cela, cela nous frappe dune manière que nous n’aurions jamais imaginée. Nous sommes remplies de tant damour, et pourtant si fatiguées. Certains jours, nous avons envie de nous cacher, et pourtant, lorsquils sendorment, ils nous manquent... Tant démotions contradictoires qui se bousculent dans nos têtes. Nous arrivons quelquefois à un point où nous ne n’arrivons plus à nous reconnaître, ni physiquement dans le miroir, ni intérieurement. J’ecris tout cela ce matin, car après mettre entendu au micro de Clémentine, je réalise une fois de plus le chemin parcouru.. À son micro, j’ai évoqué ma maternité oui mais aussi ma féminité.. Cette féminité assumée qui me permettra d’accompagner mes filles dans la leur. Devenir maman a réveillé ce désir ardent de devenir une meilleure personne. Jai ressenti le besoin de travailler sur moi-même, de devenir entière, de maîtriser mes émotions, davoir plus confiance en moi, de gérer mes insécurités, daccepter mes faiblesses et de maimer. Responsable de deux futures femmes aujourd’hui, je me dois de faire en sorte quelles deviennent des êtres humains aussi complets quelles pourront l’être.. Pour leur donner une chance, je devais me donner une chance à moi-même. Javais besoin de commencer à vivre, dêtre plus gentille avec moi-même, de me débarrasser de la surcharge émotionnelle, de maimer de tout mon cœur et de pratiquer lacceptation de soi. Je me suis perdue pour me retrouver, et je leur dois tout. Grâce à elles, je suis en train de devenir une meilleure personne. Grâce à elles est né @notjustmom_ puis @___bonjourmadame___. C’est la troisième fois que je me raconte au micro d’une femme qui m’interroge sur ma maternité. Ajude a dormir, a enfrentar a solidão, a lidar com a temperatura que oscila. Quando um bebê pede colo ele está reconhecendo que você é uma segurança. Quando você nega esse colo ele pode se acostumar com a negligência e resignar-se. Mas ele não está feliz. Eu adoro o conceito: permita que as crianças sejam dependentes no momento em que podem ser, para que sejam independentes para toda a vida. O que mais vejo neste mundo são pessoas dependentes e resignadas. Dependentes de comida, de medicamentos, de sexo, de necessidade de aceitação. São, algumas vezes, sobreviventes de pequenos ou grandes abandonos. Algumas vezes vendo esses programas que difundem a ideia da Torturadora de bebês eu sinto algo inexplicável: eu choro com a mãe que chora, com o filho que dorme soluçando. Não há nada mais fácil e prazeroso para mãe e bebê do que deitar junto com o bebe e dormir agarradinho. É tão rápido que eles crescem. O que são 3 anos diante de uma vida toda? Queremos tanto a independência precoce, exaltamos isso como troféu e depois questionamos onde se perdeu esse fio. Eu vejo idosos abandonados com cuidadores ou em asilos e vejo ali o reflexo de uma sociedade que fecha os olhos para os dependentes trocando o amor por tecnologia, chupeta, mamadeira, berço que balança e no fim, uma cama fria e olhos de uma profissional contratada. Chorei de alegria, chorei de emoção. I wish I got more time with her, to know her and to know more about where I come from. But her legacy is her family, it is me looking like her, obsessing over red lipstick just like she did and being a free rebellious spirit like she was. My dad raised my sister and I to not really think much about our race or heritage. It was just who we were, we were mixed and we lived in the diversity of that but as Ive got older, Ive learnt more and understood more what it means. That Im white and Parsi. That I need to know both not just the one Im immersed in the most. Im proud of my heritage, I love that I get to be a part of that legacy and I cant wait to understand it even more. 👉🏼One of the things that I’ve struggle accepting about my body, has been my hips. Even tho they are wide they have never been round like other girls & it bothered me for a LONG time. When I created this page, people would constantly point out how “weird”, “f*ck up” my hips look. Comments like these throughout my life made me extremely insecure about my hip dips . . 🙇🏽♀️ Being completely real with y’all, it bothered me so much that I even considered surgery at one point. Thing is... is not worth it. It’s not worth it to criticize your body and find a new flaw every day. It’s not worth it to compare yourself to other people, KNOWING that EVERY 👏 ONE 👏 IS 👏 DIFFERENT. . . Build healthy habits to become a better version of yourself. Accept your flaws and don’t feel like you shouldn’t look a certain, because we all come in different shapes and forms. Even tho I am still in the process of fully accepting a lot of things about myself, all that matters it to take the first step. September is a very special month that we didn’t give gratitude to until this year; September is NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) Awareness Month. Although Courtney has worked with NICU staff throughout her career and Sabrina has talked to staff and toured NICUs annually throughout her career, one doesn’t truly gain an appreciation until you are in the NICU with your babies. Our triplets were born at 34 weeks and all spent time in the NICU, with the shortest stay being a week and the longest 2 weeks. We are extremely blessed to have such a short stay in the NICU and for having the ability to bring ALL of our babies home, we know that is not always the case. There’s no explanation of the feeling you have seeing your babies, such pure souls, being connected to multiple IV’s, breathing tubes, feeding tubes, etc.; as a parent you feel hopeless. There is so much that you want to do to your newborns - hug, kiss, snuggle - but that’s not always the best choice for a baby in the NICU, as they are so vulnerable. So we had to place all of our hope and trust into individuals that we met as we walked into the NICU. It’s such a terrifying feeling but then one of the nurses came to us and gave us so much hope and put us at ease. It takes a very special person to be a health care provider in the NICU; to all the NICU providers out there - we appreciate you, we thank you, we see how hard you work and we are forever grateful of you all. We are infinitely indebted to our amazing NICU team @kpthrive @kp_riverside for the incredible attention and care you provided to not only our little ones, but these new Mamas as well. There’s not enough gratitude, kindness or words in this world for us to show our uttermost appreciation for you all. ➡️ to see some of our first times holding our babies.
