Interesting day at the opening of the new MOMA. After wandering around the new building for a good 3-4 hours— a few observations- ▪️ Some main issues with traffic and flow not really addressed. I was surprised to still deal with the single escalators for all the money they put into it.- ▪️ Difficult to find way to 6th floor new cafe until finally it was closing anyhow and pushed us all back into the elevator. That was frustrating.- ▪️ The Geffen Wing is much needed, but only two cross overs from main museum which is frustrating as well.- ▪️ If at 4pm each day ⏳ the performance in the Marrion Atrium, even in the best interest of art, should consider the expectation of audience. Having read that facilitators were going to activate the sculptures constructed of what looks like millions of bells that vibrate with movement, I was highly anticipatory. This should be a vibrational body experience of a combination of orchestrated sounds both natural and induced, hopefully building to a crescendo that incorporated all three elements equally: natural birds, the bells, and the human presence in counterpoint. Crowds waited with baited breath. Crowds were arranged and contained to allow for the activity. This was going to be good! - 🔝 Except it didn’t meet the built expectation. It took too long to understand or hear the effect of anything anticipated. Given art appreciation and processing is in the eye, ear and mind of the beholder, this takes place in the central core of the museum. It is an immediate impression. The result? The crowd dwindled. It lasted beyond ability to process or culminate an impression in the audience other than disappointment. - 🙃 Options: Make it more concise. Build to a crescendo. Allow the audience to understand a beginning, middle and end. Nach dem Verkauf aller Verwaltungsgebäude in Heidelberg war die Print Media Academy am Hauptbahnhof das letzte Heidelberger Gebäude im Besitz von Heideldruck. Doch was geschieht nun mit der Print Media Academy, die mit ihrem stählernen Pferd vielen Reisenden, die am Heidelberger Hauptbahnhof angekommen, ein beeindruckendes Bild bietet? „Alle Optionen liegen auf dem Tisch“, zitiert die RNZ einen Unternehmenssprecher von Heideldruck. IMPORTANT UPDATE: LONDON ART FAIR 2021 It is with much sadness that we have made the difficult decision to cancel London Art Fair 2021 due to take place at the Business Design Centre, Islington from 20 – 24 January 2021. As part of the recent Government announcement and updated guidelines; the previously proposed go date of 1 October for organised live events to take place has now been withdrawn. As with all the increased restrictions that have been announced, the indication is that these will be in place for the next six months and it is therefore with the deepest regret that we must accept that it is no longer viable for us to run London Art Fair at the Business Design Centre in January 2021. We know this will be disappointing for all involved and we would like to thank you, our exhibitors and contributors for your ongoing support. In the meantime, we are now looking towards alternative formats for us to bring our Fair community together in both digital and physical platforms and look forward to sharing further details. The New York City Comptroller reported in March that half of all essential / frontline workers in the city are foreign-born, but research by @maketheroadny found that 92% of surveyed working-class immigrant households had suffered job or income loss due to the pandemic, and only 5% received unemployment benefits. A great number of essential immigrant workers are completely excluded from unemployment and other relief programs, despite paying taxes and contributing to the unemployment insurance fund like all other workers. Fridays March On Billionaires was the culmination of an action in which over 100 workers, elected officials and allies fasted for 24 hours and slept overnight on the sidewalk outside Jeff Bezos $16 million Madison Square Park pied-à-terre to call attention to this crisis and the need for action. It has been such a challenging time for the hospitality industry. Our thoughts are with you all. We have been fortunate to be able to support the federal government public health and safety initiative through housing repatriation guests, something we are very proud of. This also gave us a fantastic opportunity to provide for our dear staff members, suppliers and keep creating memorable experiences for our guests. During this time, our team at Stamford Plaza Melbourne have been keeping busy. We served over 5500 meals and accommodated over 3500 special dietary requirements. We also supported our local food suppliers as we purchased over 10000 kg of seasonal fruit and vegetables, 5000 kg of fresh meat and poultry, over 25000 eggs as well as other local produce. Махатма Ганди изображён идущим вперед, опираясь на свой посох. Its opening took place on July 8, 1988. Representatives from both India and Russia participated in its creation. The Indian sculptor Gautam Pal was the creator of the monument, while the pedestal was designed by Russian architects V. Pasenko and I. Kruglov, and made by the designer V. Korea. In honor of Independence Day, we remember the 2014 #PhxArtFashion exhibition, Fashioned in America. Curated by @PhxArt Museum’s Dorrance Fashion Curator Emerita, Dennita Sewell, the exhibition presented more than 40 ensembles and accessories by contemporary designers such as Ralph Rucci, Anna Sui, Nanette Lepore, and J. The Elephant & Castle shopping centre has closed down. Not everyone’s cup of tea and as my friend said a great place to get mugged! Sadly though it did serve a section of the community that will sorely miss it. When I was at college at Southwark I used to see all the old ladies congregating in the cafes there for tea and a chat. In latter years it’s become a hub for the local Latin community . There was also a great little secondhand market on the upper concourse during the late 80s/90s.
