When we started preproduction for the 11th Jayhawks album early in 2019, nobody couldve predicted that the eventual release date would be smack dab in the middle of a worldwide pandemic. That situation has obviously affected the bands ability to play live shows but were still very excited for this release and hope everyone digs it. The Jayhawks will be back on the road as soon as were able to; until then, enjoy XOXO. XOXO is now available everywhere. The initial pressing of the CD features the 12 album tracks + 3 bonus tracks. The first vinyl pressing has the 12 album tracks on a single LP and also includes a CD with all 15 tracks in a slip sleeve. The bonus tracks will NOT be available on subsequent pressings of the CD and later pressings of the LP will only include a download card for the 12 album tracks without a CD. Gravado com um timaço que tem Lee Morgan, Curtis Fuller, Kenny Drew e a “cozinha” monumental de Paul Chambers e Philly Joe Jones, o disco fluí deliciosamente. O solo de trompete de Lee Morgan em Moment’s Notice mostra que ele poderia ter sido tão grande e influente quanto Miles. Mas Morgan, que tinha apenas 20 anos quando gravou com Trane, tretou demais em várias ocasiões da sua curta vida e acabou morto aos 33 anos pela própria mulher com um tiro no coração numa discussão entre eles no intervalo de uma gig em um clube de Nova York. Hello everyone! Hope you’re having a great summer wherever you are in the world. For obvious reasons things might be a bit different this year. Despite the ongoing situation we are happy to see that some clubs around the globe are opening up again (with limited capacity), that raves and underground parties are popping up here and there, and that there seems to be a burgeoning feeling of positivity in the scene. Even though the crisis is far from over, we feel that we can once again start to dream about life with jammed packed dance floors and all nighters with friends, accompanied by great music. One thing that has kept us from going crazy over the last couple of months is Discogs. If it wasn’t for discogs we don’t know what we would’ve done. The number of hours we’ve spent on there is ridiculous to say the least. Thankfully, all these joyous hours have paid off - especially in the form of a big bunch of under 5 Euro gems. Here’s one of them: Datura Mystic Motion EP (1995) on IRMA Records. This is the Bum Bum Club Instrumental. And there’s more where that came from. Anyway, we just wanted to give you quick update on what’s going on with us. The short version is that we’re looking towards the future with optimism while spending far too much money on Discogs.
