‘Ladki Kyon’: 378 seconds of generalising — stereotyping — with a little sugar and spice. Stereotyping is so inbuilt in us that we rarely notice that we’re doing it on a daily basis. Our society is gendered. A lot of that gendering, regardless of the origin, springs from within us. Baby girls are often dressed in pink, baby boys in blue — no space for mistaken identity, right? First, to the men who think all women are the same — Physically speaking, they’re not! Of course! But if you dig deeper — emotionally, mentally, intellectually — they’re not all the same. It takes strength to listen to your heart with the risk of it being broken, but somehow, your openness is mistaken for weakness and vulnerability for desperation and yet women “don’t” listen to their hearts. And now, to the women who think all men are the same — Being skeptical of one man because of your experience is justified! They deserve the same pampering on difficult days that you do. Attacking men and their masculinity over their emotional quotient is wrong. They don’t just come and go. And for once they’re not men and women. They’re just human. I love the nights and its darkness, Cause thats when everything turns out to be Just as I imagine them to be. The waving curtains take the shape of my mum swaying on a swing which she always yearned for. A swing which will take away all her stress with itself, A swing which will steal all the pain her body is trembling with, A swing which will rebuild her shattered bones, And give them the endurance to live more. Each day, I plead her to be that swing, I try to steal her tiredness, I try to give her relief, I try to become her stress buster, Yet my efforts are unable to match the chores she does for us, She orders me to not to intervene in her chores, And go back & concentrate on my studies. I insist on her that she isnt a machine to work for hours constantly and still, pretend to not need any relief. She reverts me its her responsibility. My urge goes in vain, Once again. A lot of times, we as humans feel like the world is crumbling around us when sorrow hits our soul. It feels too big a burden to bear, to much to want to care. However, in sorrow we learn the most. How to be strong and plant our roots, little by little growing deeper so when strong winds come, and they will...we are firmly planted because our sorrows are the roots that stabilize our hearts until nothing can bring us down. Some winds may break branches, other winds may blow our leaves away, but we are never to be torn because we are creatures of resiliency. Here we are... vulnerable AF and putting it all out there? Why... because I feel the need to clear up all the chinese whispers! The last 18 months have been, to say the least the hardest months of my life! They say there are moments in life that can change everything forever and david and myself have gone through hell and back! From the moment we got together until now... I will say I never pictured we would be where we are! They say marriages have their ups and downs and never in a millions years I thought “my” family would go through what it has. As a little girl you grow up thinking you get married have kids and the worse drama you go through is picking a primary school or the possibility of having a child bullied at school, but in the big scheme of things that’s nothing compared to what we have gone through. Every single morning I disperse medication to every member of my family except myself, I watch the challenges they go through from the moment they wake up and the moment they go to sleep! If having kids and their growth challenges isn’t enough, then face adding a mental health issue to the plate! I’m not looking for sympathy, nor do I want it... but what I don’t need is judgement from others for my “stay sane” ways. I know my choices at times have been questionable and my outlets haven’t been the best options but I am human AF and all I’m doing is living and learning! I’ve realised that some of my choices have been self sabotage and that’s something I am working on with, with my counselor! But what I can say is that my mistakes or poor choices have taught me more than any else in my life.... I hate that I’m a slow learner and a slow processor but I am who I am and I accept me for me... Us as a family today are here and existing and I’m not sure what the future holds for us, but all I know from here on in is I won’t stand for anyone who will try to bring me down.... Trying to be productive so revisited some old ideas, Hope you Enjoy 😊 The Final Tear Whilst I embed this moment as madness. Deep within my minds eye. The memories I kept of us, slowly perish and die. Trying to hold on to reality but grip hard to the past. As I know the recollections I’ve hidden away, can never last. They’re fragmented now, lost deep inside my mind. They slip through my fingers, just like the sands of time. Working tirelessly as I scramble in despair. Heart pounding savagely, trying to gather them to repair.
