Leia mais; O Dilúvio de cerveja de Londres, também conhecido como inundação de cerveja de Londres, ocorreu em 17 de outubro de 1814 na freguesia de St. Giles, em Londres, Inglaterra. Na cervejaria da The Meux e Brewery Company, um enorme tonel contendo mais de 610.000 litros imperiais de cerveja rompeu, causando a ruptura de outras cubas no mesmo edifício, que sucumbiram em um efeito dominó. Como resultado, mais de 1.470.000 litros imperiais de cerveja estouraram e jorraram para as ruas. A onda de cerveja destruiu duas casas e desmoronou o muro da Tavistock Arms Pub, matando uma adolescente, Eleanor Cooper, sob os escombros. A cervejaria estava localizada entre as casas pobres e cortiços de St Giles, onde famílias inteiras viviam em quartos em porões, que rapidamente ficaram cheios de cerveja. Oito pessoas morreram afogadas na enchente. A cervejaria foi demolida em 1922, e hoje o Dominion Theatre ocupa uma parte do local onde ficava a cervejaria. My sister Veronica and I had this double act. Marisa Rivera @lifeonastage was the best Velma I have ever seen. What a joy it was to play her sister every night. (Sorry about the spread eagle, sis). One of my favorite aspects of artistic creation - theatrical, film, choral, musical, etc - are the people with whom we create. Art is created through People And Process. (The product happens because of the former two). Those magical moments in a rehearsal room: the process of trying and failing then changing then trying then finding then exploring then changing again then experimenting then discovering more - those moments are so magical. And even if you are doing the same piece again, when it is with different people and in a different time, the process is entirely different. As is the product. Keeping art relevant, current, and ever changing while collaborating with an open mind with people who trust the process is one of the joys of creation.
