Our family has grown! 🖤🧡⁠ ⁠ Were still working on names for these babies, but Im so excited to share our 3-month-old orange tabby baby boy and 6-month old pocket panther girl (seriously - shes still only 4 pounds!) with you!⁠ ⁠ Doozer and Burt were members of our family for 16 and 17 years. After Burt passed in July, I wasnt sure when we would be ready for kitties again. Id recently been thinking the time might be right now, especially since my sons and I are home all day with work and school. When my boys both separately asked about getting a cat last week, I went right to the SAFE Haven for Cats website to submit an adoption application and schedule an appointment!⁠ ⁠ So, I visited @safehaven4cats on Friday, hoping to find a pair of kittens to join our family. After spending some time with two kitties that I fostered back in July who were now ready for adoption, these two chose me instead!⁠ ⁠ Baby Boy had two other siblings who had already been adopted. He was shy, but loved getting head scritchies and chin rubs when I held him.⁠ ⁠ Baby Girl had arrived at the shelter alone. Despite being 3 months old, she weighs one pound less than him! She started purring the second I held her.⁠ ⁠ While these two did not know each other at the shelter and we kept them separated at home until Sunday afternoon, they are becoming friends. 😻😻⁠ ⁠ He is more shy around humans than her, but his demeanor instantly changed when he saw her on Sunday. 😭 He followed her all around the room and wanted to play! She kept hissing at him, but soon warmed up to him.⁠ ⁠ Ill continue to share their progress as they adjust to their new home and each other.
