И я начала бояться, потупив глазки в пол. Бояться сказать что-то не то или не так, бояться обидеть, выглядеть глупой. Открыть рот и не произнести чего-то инновационного. Со многим и многими мириться и довольствоваться тем что есть. Надо ли говорить, что никаких дивидендов с таким отношением к жизни я не получила?) Позже ко мне пришло очередное озарение🙈 А почему я молчу? Что я фильтрую? Ведь никто, по сути, из ныне живущих не знает или на самом деле просто думает, что знает в чем заключается конечная истина. Я всеравно не буду всем нравиться и более того, я буду не нравится многим (что собственно оказалось не смертельным). Я взяла за основу, что кто-то все равно будет обсуждать/осуждать мои поступки, слова, вес, брови, работы, взгляды на жизнь. Слыша, как ею можно оправдать абсолютно любого, будь то вор или маньяк(утрирую)...ведь его просто в детстве недолюбили/недообнимали и много чего не до , я поняла что разочаровываюсь... А вот сейчас, может в связи с тем что пришлось замедлиться, наблюдать, думать, анализировать... Я пришла к тому что я больше не хочу ни с кем ни за кого или что бороться, никому ничего доказывать, выискивать. Я вдруг поняла, что фильму Один дома 30(!!!) лет , а альбому Земфиры Ромашки 21(!!!). Поняла что время сквозь пальцы и его слишком мало для того, чтобы воевать в несуществующих войнах и искать то, что никто собственно никогда и не прятал. Learning to love me! ✨ Last night I tried to get into an outfit that used to fit me like a glove, and now it can’t get over my thighs. There is no such thing as a perfect body. Everyone has a perfect body that does so much for them!! We need to stop comparing ourselves to others!! I am so sick of comparing myself. Don’t get me wrong I am still learning and growing with who I am. But instead of crying over not being able to fit in the outfit anymore, I said to myself - you’re happy, you’re alive, you’re strong and you’re curvy and you like it ✨ I have been learning so much about my body recently, how we are constantly changing and evolving and Arbonne is truly bringing this light out of me and showing my beautiful potential. My psoriasis is still there, but I am finding ways of now accepting it and that it will take its course through my body! Now, with my constant skincare routine, my new ways of healthy living with supplements not to replace a meal but to add to my days, my body is feeling great and finding a reason to love itself - with the cheeky burger of course. Since starting with this company only a month or so ago so much has happened emotionally and mentally in my life. The way my brain works is it never turns off. I was going to bed fully filled to the brim with everything I had to do: Ideas, editing, dinner, the next days craft, the verse I read that morning, clients, should I start my woodworking shop again, my husband, my friends, etc. Every. Single. Night. I was up rearranging the mess that was in my brain. I would wake up exhausted. And yet again I would lay back down with guilt because I wasn’t fully present with the people I was given to serve. This isn’t a post for everyone. This may even trigger a lot of you. But I’m just here to remind you that we became wives/husbands and parents, not out of the next steps in life, but as tools to expand the Kingdom. Don’t forget we’re raising people that could bring many knees to the feet of the Father and don’t forget we were brought a partner we’re supposed to grow and expand with. The community we’re around- friends, church community, co-workers- all these people are given to us as well. Steward these things first before everything else. Take it from me- if you’re too overwhelmed to love your people well- you’re never going to find rest in pursuing anything other than that. As people of God remember the greatest commandments: love the Lord with all your heart and love one another. The Lord cares deeply about you + Him and you loving His people well. Chasing your dreams and pursuing your hearts desires is good don’t get me wrong- but never at the expense of the people you were given. Simplify life by prioritizing what the Word tells us. The Lord gives us desires to pursue but not for our own gain- it’s always for His Glory and kingdom...and it benefits us greatly to make sure we’re aligned with the will of the King. - @joannaballentine on Instagram

Today was the day. I broke down after five months. It wasn’t supposed to happen to us. We got pregnant with Rowan with no issues and thought once we decided to grow our family it wouldn’t come to a screeching halt when we were told we would now be living our life based on a calendar, medications and injections, follow up appointments and monitoring, HSG testing and IUI treatments. But here we are. It never even crossed our minds that we would be the 1 in 6 that struggle with infertility. It’s a tough pill to swallow to not only be told you need the help of doctors to get pregnant, but to know the first IUI treatment you do, doesn’t work and you feel like you failed yourself, your husband and your family. It’s an empty hopeless feeling and a constant reminder every time someone asks you about having another baby or explaining that your first child needs a buddy. I know he does. We do. And we’re trying really hard. I really don’t want to make this a sob story, but I don’t want to live my life based off of a highlight reel and only post about the good things in my life. It’s taken me since February to be able to open up publicly about this situation without being so defensive and emotional and it’s honestly a breath of fresh air. Settling nicely in Vancouver. I must admit, it’s been a contrast of feels. On one hand I’m loving the slower, more relaxed pace, not feeling a pressure to rush and be scarce with my time. And at the same time, I’m still relearning how to feel peaceful even though I’m not “productive”, worthy even though I’m not earning, and abundant even though I’m not achieving. I’ve realized how deeply engrained my pattern of associating productivity with identity has been, and how unhealthy that can be. I’m still figuring it out, and my way of dealing with the lows is to not beat myself up, redirect my energy into creation whether that be writing or doodling, and remind myself that the pauses are necessary for growth. these photos were taken almost exactly 3 hours apart two months ago. in the first photo, i was so full of joy. my heart was overflowing with contentment & i just finished getting ready for what i expected to be a great day. in the second photo, i was on the phone with a close friend who was trying to talk me out of attempting suicide. just like that, within a three hour span, i went from being so full of joy to wanting to die. march to july were some of the hardest months of my life. i broke my streak of being five years clean from self harm. suicidal thoughts raged war in my mind on a consistent basis. i had to fight with every ounce of strength i had (which was very little) to do the most mundane tasks like showering & eating. i couldn’t bring myself to spend time with Jesus because every time i did, i would think of my dad & my heart would shatter all over again over the fact that he’s not here with me anymore. i grew terrified of emotions & refused to feel them. i was the epitome of hopeless. but Jesus... He’s a miracle working God. He’s been surrounding me with the sweetest friends that can edify & exhort me. He’s blessed me with the greatest church in the world. the most Christlike boyfriend. i’m learning to fall in love with Jesus all over again. i’m learning His character & His goodness all over again. after months of cutting myself off from the heart of God, i’m learning what it looks like to be tethered to it once again. i sat in my car today & just wept over the redemptive work that He’s done in my heart this past month. He didn’t abandon me when i abandoned Him. He protected & guarded my heart when i wasn’t aware of it. He wept with me when i wept. He mourned with me when i mourned. & if i had to go through all of that just to be closer to His heart than ever before, it was so much more than worth it. because there’s nothing in this world better than having an intimate relationship with Jesus, even if it means suffering for His sake. because He does all things for His glory & our good, & my soul can finally rest in that. Hey guys 👋🏼 Some of you know me, and some of you don’t so I’ll share some life updates and other tings about myself! - This picture was taken in the sun room of my house, which is the 3rd house I’ve lived in since January. 😬 We will not be moving anytime soon so I’ve been having fun designing this new space and settling in. - I share this house with my husband, my bff (aka my dog) and my two kids. My daughter is 14 and my son is 9, and when we moved to a new school district I had no idea what to expect with the kids social lives and the community. I’m so happy to report that my kids love the schools and everyone in our new neighborhood and area has been super warm. Glad that worked out cuz you couldn’t pay me a million dollars to move again any time soon. - I’m obsessed with my American Staffshire Terrier Sadie, who we got from a local shelter. I was convinced for the first month she was going to kill me in my sleep, bc I didn’t have any experience with pitbull looking dogs. I’ve learned that she would never ever hurt any person, but she will in-fact hunt a squirrel, cat or frog. No ones perfect k. - I own a salon suite that I work in 3-4 days a week. I provide hair extensions paired with color services only, which has been an amazing journey that I’m proud of, and continually humbled by. - I really really like podcasts, so much so that in the spring of 2019 I started one called @nicehairpodcast. I cohost it with my friend @haleyyevanss and we talk about business building, hair, and life. - Lastly, and arguably most importantly, my long time BFF @instagootee and I saw Oprah and Gayle live in Denver CO the first week in March this year, right before our lives got haulted. If the country is going to lock down, atleast give me Oprah first, ya know? - I’m also pretty goofy. 🥰. 2020: el año en que recibes tu título en pdf, en género femenino y con nuevo look👩🏽‍🎓🌈🥰👩🏽‍🏫 Deben saber que detrás de este título están años de “batallar” contra mi propia salud mental, de perfeccionismo y exigencia, desilusiones, un año de internado tan desgastante como transformador, PERO un consecuente CAMBIO enoooorme de perspectivas, creencias y paradigma🧠 Esto no ha sido trabajo fácil, ha incluido lágrimas, revelar partes mías que no había visto, e incluso muchas veces frustraciones y dolores. No cambiaría por nada el haberme conocido en todas esas fases de vida. Porque ahora intento quererme en cada una de ellas. La vida es un regalo, a mis ojos, y no quiero perder ni un minuto en ella sin hacer algo que amo y me llena. Este definitivamente es mi camino👩🏽‍⚕️🐣 Mi deseo es que apreciemos esta profesión lamentablemente olvidada en nuestro país. Me considero una psicóloga aprendiz, curiosa e ilusionada. A la vez distinta. No me gustan mucho las formalidades, soy muy humana e integrativa en lo que hago, me encanta mostrar mis emociones con mis pacientes, reconozco mis límites como profesional, me entrego totalmente a esto que hago. Tengo una parte humana que siempre quiere salir, mi parte vulnerable que quiere que la mire y la atienda. No me considero una psicóloga “seria” o un ejemplo de cómo se “debería” ser. Al tacho los deberías y “tengo que”. Me gusta que seas auténticx, que vivas una vida valiosa y conectada a lo que crees, piensas y sientes. Estoy comprometida a seguir creciendo por y para todxs quienes pasen por mi camino, y a seguir promoviendo salud mental consciente, libre de estigmas e inclusiva y respetuosa para todxs. Recuerden: ustedes PUEDEN sanar, ir al psicólogo es pura valentía. 💛 Siempre me escriben a contarme que yo les ayudo, pues les digo desde ya que son ustedes quienes me ayudan a mí! Yo los quiero mucho y de corazón siempre pienso en brindarles contenido responsable, real y que refleje quien verdaderamente soy. I read this earlier today and it really resonated with me: “If you understand how frequently people cope by projecting, you would learn to take absolutely nothing personally.” What is projecting? Projecting refers to unconsciously taking unwanted feelings or traits you dont like about yourself and attributing them to someone else. Example: a cheating spouse who suspects their partner is being unfaithful. Or when someone who doesn’t respect you accuses you of not respecting them. They project their own bad traits and insecurities on to you. Sadly, projecting is very very common. That’s why I don’t take any negativity thrown at me seriously. The negative things people say is always more about them than it is about you. So keep shining and don’t let the haters dim your light. Ever. 😘 - @rosypirani on Instagram

All too often I hear patients and their family members when discussing their concerns about their mental health or treatment, bring up actual myths. I thought I would put to rest a few that I have heard that are just not true! FIVE myths about mental health treatment: ✖️ Medications will change your personality ✖️ You can look at someone and know if they take a psychiatric medication as their are obvious physical side effects of the medication ✖️ Therapy is exclusively about the past and does not deal with the present or the future ✖️ Antidepressants are “happy pills” meaning that if you take them soon after you will automatically be happy ✖️ Taking a medication means you are weak or have not tried hard enough - @dianasamuelmd on Instagram

Buckled up because I’m on the way to becoming a Mrs in 5 months! I wasn’t completely sure if I wanted to do an engagement photo shoot. . As someone who works in the wedding industry , seeing things over and over can loose significance. And in all honesty I sort of hate doing what everyone else is doing! But it was like the heavens opened and the skies were perfectly lit for us yesterday, and I have to admit, it was such a bonding experience, seriously so sweet! Cannot wait to see the photos as I know they’ll capture all the emotion and love that we hold for each other. My mom found my first grey hair when I was 12 years old (I didn’t even know that was possible!!) She always warned me that I might go grey earlier than most, but I never imagined I’d be so young. As I got older, the grey patch at the very top of my head became harder and harder to cover. My lovely hair dresser convinced me to embrace it and I stopped covering my grey hair at 24. I’ve now been growing it out for 2 years, and get low lights a few times a year to help it blend more since I’m not completely grey. I am learning to embrace it more and more every day. No one ever believes that I am this grey at 26! I am a teacher and my little students are often baffled - you don’t even have kids yet and your hair is so grey!
