Designed to serve more as a decorative inlay than a structural support, the Star inlay is a bit thinner than the rest of our lineup. Thinner inlay = easier chisel work! - I had a client bring in some wood from their dad’s home. They wanted a gift for their brother, who is a firefighter. So I torched the wood, stabilized it, and poured an orange powder in the cracks. Then I covered it in clear acrylic. It looks like it’s still smoldering. 356 grams, 3 deg loft.

This piece of Cocobolo looked dark orange and brown in its rough form. As I turned and carved, a kaleidoscope of colors emerged.
