São Paulo fica em primeiro lugar no ranking das cidades inteligentes, segundo ranking A cidade de São Paulo ficou em primeiro lugar como a mais inteligente e conectada do país no Ranking Connected Smart Cities 2020. O estudo avaliou todos os 673 municípios brasileiros com mais de 50 mil habitantes. São avaliados 11 indicadores: mobilidade, urbanismo, meio ambiente, tecnologia e inovação, economia, educação, saúde, segurança, empreendedorismo, governança e energia. Além da classificação geral, há rankings por eixo temático, região e faixa populacional. A cidade se destacou em mobilidade e acessibilidade devido à diversidade de possibilidades de locomoção. A expansão das linhas do metrô e os planos para a construção de novos ramais nos próximos anos tiveram influencia no resultado. Pesou ainda a favor da capital paulista os 400 quilômetros de ciclovias e a variedade de destinos que podem ser acessados pelos aeroportos de Congonhas e Guarulhos. Em relação à tecnologia e inovação, a capital paulista tem três parques tecnológicos e 11 incubadoras, responsáveis por 4,1% dos empregos formais. A cidade conta também com 85 pontos de acesso à internet por 100 habitantes, sendo que 56,3% das conexões são de banda larga com velocidade superior a 34 mb (megabites). Quase um terço dos empregos formais no município é ocupado por profissionais com ensino superior.
