Esse episódio que vivi ao longo dessa última semana me fez pensar muito sobre o porquê de tantas pessoas acharem que política e esporte não devem se misturar. A própria Comissão de Atletas do Vôlei de Praia emitiu uma nota dizendo que lutará para silenciar os atletas. Acredito que está mais do que na hora de refletirmos sobre isso e tentarmos entender de onde vem essa máxima. Quem disse que atleta não pode se manifestar politicamente? Quem disse que esporte é só entretenimento? Estamos ali só para correr atrás de uma bola e vivermos alienados do mundo? O atleta não é um cidadão como outro qualquer? Eu acredito que esporte e política podem e devem andar juntos, simplesmente pelo fato de que é impossível dissociar um do outro. Quando você vê uma iraniana lutando para que mulheres possam frequentar estádios de futebol, isso é política. Quando a ONU tem programas esportivos em zonas de guerra e vulnerabilidade social, isso é política. A falta de investimentos em quadras poliesportivas nas escolas, é política. Quando Nelson Mandela usou o rugby para unir negros e brancos na África do Sul, isso é política. Um dos caras responsáveis por esse equivocado legado histórico de que atletas não podem se manifestar politicamente é Avery Brundage, presidente do COI de 1952 a 1972. Homem branco, racista, sexista e antisemita, Avery foi membro do Comitê Olímpico dos Estados Unidos e se posicionou contra um boicote americano aos Jogos de Berlim 1936, organizado pelo regime nazista de Hitler. Ele afirmou que não havia espaço para política nas Olimpíadas, mesmo sabendo que os atletas judeus da delegação alemã tinham sido banidos de participarem do evento. Foi esse mesmo homem que expulsou, das olimpíadas de 1968, Tommie Smith e John Carlos, velocistas americanos que, ao subirem no pódio, ergueram os punhos, fazendo o gesto dos panteras negras, que simbolizava a luta pelos direitos do negros. O tempo provou que Avery Brundage esteve sempre do lado errado da história, e o museu de arte asiática de São Francisco, retirou do seu hall de entrada o busto de seu patrono. Dicen que la patria refiere al territorio, pero su patria no sabe de espacios, es más bien omnipresente; esconde la explotación bajo el disfraz del progreso. Esa patria es gris como el cemento, se extiende sobre el territorio dejando marcas de pudrición en el cielo, el mar y la tierra. En ella la naturaleza se transa cual mercancía. Dicen que solo así se compra, sólo así se vive, sólo así se juega. Su patria es oprimir, reducir al ser y a la naturaleza a objetos, meras mercancías al servicio de un proyecto egoísta, mano de obra y materia prima para mantener el sistema de consumo, el sistema que nos consume. Esos patriotas no ponen nombres sino etiquetas. Dividen, oponen, solo piensan en binario. En esa patria no hay compatriotas sino subalternos, empleados y “colaboradores”. Esta reducción del ser no es sino la condición básica para la subsistencia de su normalidad precarizante, de la educación segregante, del trabajo flexible y del extractivismo abominable. Su patria es la acumulación. Escribo con rabia. Mis “compatriotas” dejaron atrás la patria paternal del patriarca, y levantaron la fratría fraternal de lxs hermanxs. No somos compatriotas sino confratriotas. Somos lxs oprimidxs que miran hacia el lado, lxs que sienten empatía por otrxs, los que se retuercen con el hambre ajena. La fratría de mis confratriotas no persigue el crecimiento sino el desarrollo integral. Acá no se defienden fronteras ni se cantan himnos, nuestra nación está en la idea, está en el cambio, en el anhelo de un futuro mejor para ti y para mí. En nuestra fratría nos olvidamos de la inmediatez, miramos hacia atrás para poder ir hacia adelante. No olvidamos, no les olvidamos. Escribo con pena. - @alkutun.cea on Instagram
