As you know, a massive chemical explosion shook Beirut on August 4, devastating the city and causing more than 200 deaths, more than 5 injured and many missing. More than 300 people have lost everything, including their homes and property, and thousands of people are starving and struggling without electricity and basic necessities. As a business, we believe its important to unite and help the people of Beirut survive these tragic events and start rebuilding their lives, communities and beautiful city. In collaboration with the Humanitarian Coalition and its partners in Lebanon, we have created the Beirut page, All Our Love Aid & Relief to raise funds to help provide humanitarian and relief assistance on the ground. Vernon, my great uncle wrote this letter for his mother Nelly. Sempre dal nostro archivio vi proponiamo oggi una ricetta dei primi del 900: la TORTA PARADISO. La sua preparazione è come una seduta di allenamento visto che va mescolata rigorosamente a mano per almeno 30 minuti!!! TORTA PARADISO (ricetta della Zefferina) Ingredienti: - 3 etti di fecola di patate - 3 etti di zucchero - 2 etti di burro - 3 uova - Un po di buccia di limone grattugiata - Una bustina di lievito per dolci Preparazione: Si impastano assieme lo zucchero e il burro e, quando sono bene amalgamati, si aggiungono le uova, una alla volta, continuando a mescolare senza mai fermarsi per circa 30 minuti. Successivamente si aggiunge la farina e la scorza di limone, continuando sempre a mescolare (perché più si mescola, più la torta viene buona!). Alla fine si aggiunge la dose. Since the beginning of this project, I have learned a so much about Food52 - even though it is a site I have been a regular on for at least a year (which is eons in Internet time). Since the recipes on Food52 are contributed by many different authors, I was first interested in the curation of the website in regards to which recipes and blog posts to feature. Turns out, any one can create recipes and posts on Food52 - even me!
