Pardon the interruption. This is both a PSA and a proud Auntie brag post. One of my nieces is moving back to San Diego in just a few weeks (Mission Hills area). She’s a TEACHER (K - 5) working on her masters in education - willing to tutor or teach your quarantined little love nuggets! I could go on and on, but I’ll just leave it that Brooke is loved by all who meet her and especially her little students. My name is Brooke Lowrey and I am moving to Mission Hills in San Diego. I am eager to help families and students during this frustrating time of distance learning! I am a dependable, patient, enthusiastic, and adaptable teacher! I have a Bachelors degree in Liberal Studies (Elementary Education) with an emphasis in Math from San Diego State University (class of 2018). I am currently working on my Multiple Subject Credential and Masters in Learning and Technology from Azusa Pacific University, and I will graduate this December of 2020! I have experience in the classroom with grade levels from K-5 and I have taught a full class of Kindergarten students from 2018-2019. I have also been a long term substitute teacher for full class of Fourth grade students and then a full class of Fifth grade students during the Spring of 2020. During this time, I have adopted many virtual learning strategies while teaching Fourth grade during this Covid-19 distance learning crisis. I would love to use my professional experience, virtual skills, and teaching strategies to tutor any students needing extra help with completing and understanding assignments and homework, while assisting them with topics that might be challenging to them! Union County students in grades K-12 are invited to join a 4-H Club this fall and explore popular fields ranging from cooking, art to anime, coding and more. Youth in their first year after graduating from high school can also join. All clubs will be meeting virtually and are without charge until in person meetings resume. “4-H Clubs provide students in Union County with unique opportunities to practice teamwork, organization, leadership and other important life skills,” said Freeholder Chairman Alexander Mirabella. “The Freeholder Board is very proud to support the 4-H program in our community in a virtual capacity until it is safe for students to meet in person.” 4-H Clubs are organized by age and topic. The members meet with an adult club leader on a monthly basis during the school year to plan activities and programs. Each club emphasizes the ability of students to learn, organize, and communicate with activities appropriate for their age.
