A partir de sus observaciones y estudios una buena parte de la fauna cubana quedó referida en diferentes monografías que abarcan casi todos los órdenes zoológicos. En ellas puede encontrarse, desde las características propias de cada especie #animal, con sus descripciones, sinonimia y costumbres, hasta notas que llaman la atención sobre la extinción de algunas y el modo de evitarlo. La #flora, aunque no fue objeto de sus investigaciones, quedó también incluida en su obra en anotaciones de carácter #ecológico.
