Its really nice to feel, that my shape is coming back. Finally, I really enjoy climbing! So, a couple of days ago, after the week of hard work, I sent my first 7c+: Tenezme. Successful installation yesterday. This gallery wall was so fun to work on. The client wanted to showcase their travel photos. We spent a long time in the preparation stage, choosing photos with complementary colours and hue intensity so the wall would not be overwhelming with full colour photos. The position of each photo is intentionally chosen so all the pieces together is a visual composition. Then @artstalltoronto applied their professional skills. Happy smiles upon completion. #gallerywall #gallerywalldecor #travelphotos #wallart #savvyartmarket #savvyart #photography #homedecor #interiordesign #artatyle #artstyling #artconsultant #artconsulting - @savvyartinc on Instagram

For the last 4 years in a row, I spent that time a year in Yosemite. I have to admit that this year I’m very happy to be here in Europe. Sometimes you have an unexpected run... I am overwhelmed that I completed the first free ascent of „Merci la vie“ on the Eiger north face. I originally started bolting this route 10 years ago. Last year together with my super motivated friends @ninacaprez and @seanvillanuevaodriscoll we created those 8 great and demanding pitches as a team effort. During the past weeks I’ve worked on the route for a couple of days and sent it earlier then expected. A big thank you to @waendegeiss, @anne_gita and @mario_heller for your great support! And @samsilba for the Foto. Now I am looking forward to supporting Nina next week in „Merci la vie“. Meanwhile Sean is still stuck in patagonia due to covid. For all of you who are psyched to repeat this beautiful route: The topo and the next film episode by @actiontalk.tv (special thanks to @mountainfeeling for his huge effort) will follow as soon as our complete team has sent the route. #KurtAlbert #freikletternfreidenkenfreisein #biografie Am 28. @tyroliaverlag - @dauertom on Instagram

• Neue Normalität • Die „neue Normalität“ bleibt unsere alte Normalität. Endlich !! “I don’t see a real shift toward inclusivity in mainstream climbing media; it’s easy to highlight the same sorts of stories over and over. I think compelling stories can be found by looking a little deeper into the evolving demographic of the climbing community.” I said this in an interview, last October. It was recently quoted to me while being offered a column in a climbing magazine, which would run on a trial basis. This offer was the result of the magazine having “lots of talks”. Here’s my response: “...I’ve given your offer more thought, in particular your use of my quote as a way to frame who is responsible for making changes in mainstream climbing media. As you said above, “we’ve been having lots of talks” though you didn’t mention what was said. Ideally, it involved acknowledging that climbing media is overwhelmingly white, male and privileged, and positions itself as speaking not from any particular position but for the entire community and in doing so, assumes everyone is having/can have a white, male experience. And then a discussion ensued addressing what has allowed your magazine to remain disinterested in learning how to disrupt that narrative, until 2020. I fully understand what the optics are of having a female woman of colour author this column and that it allows your magazine to jump to a “solution” instead of doing the work it takes to face its complicity in the system. A piece of that work involves the white men at your magazine taking a clear, public stance on racism beyond a black square on Instagram one day out of the year. I decline the offer to write this column, and look forward to what lies ahead for the magazine.” #performativeallyship - @sabrinachapman80 on Instagram

We hear people say ‘oh she was ahead of her time’ quite often, but in the case of Lynn Hill it’s absolutely true. If any climber, male or female, had Lynn’s resumé today they would be pro, but she pushed climbing forward in the 80’s and 90’s and she’s been waiting 30 years for us all to catch up. Any of her achievements would raise eyebrows today and she’s still at it now, in these photos climbing with @ninacaprez on The Nose a few years back. “Tethered to my cell phone some 7,000 miles away from where he was climbing in New Zealand, the last text message I sent to my boyfriend read: “if you see this, know that people are out looking for you. This message wouldnt be delivered until his body was retrieved by a search and rescue team many hours later. I still feel like its too soon to reflect deeply on his death because Im still really hurting, but I did want to say that the support of the CGF, both financially and through the stories theyve collected of others grieving similar tragedies, has been a godsend. Hearing the experiences of others whove also lost their partners at various stages in their grieving processes has made me feel more connected with the community, especially in these times when we cannot be together. I look forward to the day when Ill be able to reflect on and share my story with the community, and this has motivated me to start to work through the trauma and loss I experienced that day.” - Anonymous CGF Grant Recipient. - Please tune-in this evening, July 14th at 6:00 MDT for our Community Impact Panel. Join us for a live conversation with community members who have already been positively impacted by the work of CGF. The participants in this panel are leaders in our community who are aware of the need for more grief and trauma resources in our community and driving this conversation forward. Hosted by CGF’S founder @ and Therapeutic Director @. Link to the event is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88077976251 - In 2020 we launched our Climbing Grief Grants and within 4 months had awarded all 15 of our budgeted grants for the year. These grants provide access to therapists for anyone directly impacted by grief or trauma related to climbing, alpinism, or ski mountaineering. With your support we can continue offering grants to our community and expanding programming. - @climbinggrieffund @madaleinesorkin @americanalpine #climbinggrieffund #alpinistnewswire #aacgram #climbing #rockclimbing #theclimbinglife #skiing #mountains #alpinism #athlete #nationalparks #psychology #1000waystoKisstheGroundfilm #1000ways #1000waystokissthegroundpremiere # - @climbinggrieffund on Instagram
