Marijuana and Exercise?! Let’s get the weekend started. I get asked a lot about the effects of weed when working out and if there’s any benefit from it. First off I’ll start by saying that there are very limited amount of studies that have been done so it is a new topic science wise so this is mostly my interpretation of the topic. I’m an exercise expert not a weed one. This post will be strictly about being high and working out not about the proven effects of CBDs and Hemp. ___________________________ Important Disclaimer: Not every weed is the same and every strain has different effects so if one didn’t work there might be others that could work for you. ___________________________ My take: Weed and exercise can go very well together but can also be very disruptive for weight loss clients. I would 100000% want my clients to be on some sort of weed, whether it be ingested or inhaled, rather than prescription medications even ibuprofen if they’re avid user. NSAIDS can be pretty damaging to the lining in the stomach and not to mention your gut bacteria. ___________________________ Pros: Make working out more fun. Can short term increase appetite for those trying to gain mass and have appetite troubles. Can long term actually lower your appetite and cravings. It’s all about knowing what you can and can’t handle so be smart if you do try. Cons: No real physiological benefits. Can make heavy lifting more difficult.
