You may not recognise it at first glance, but this is London, and its the earliest photograph ever taken of the city. The photo was taken by M. de Ste Croix in 1839 and shows that the city has always been magical. - @vamuseum on Instagram

#londres #london #architecture #archilovers #design #idealista - @idealistapt on Instagram

- I think Ive nailed the definition of a pub as opposed to a bar. A pub allows dogs and a bar doesnt. Fair? Here is Eddie and I. He is only a puppy and was first allowed out the house on the day the pubs closed. Weve been practicing the walk to the pub ever since!

To protest the visit of Queen Victoria to Dublin in 1897 Maud Gonne and artist activists including Alice Milligan organised a magic lantern projection in Parnell Street featuring images of eviction scenes on a gable wall. The protesters carried placards with statistics of famine deaths. The police baton-charged the crowd and one woman was killed. Notable Irish Cultural Revival activist Alice Milligan also travelled in Ireland presenting magic lantern slide projections. #maudgonne #magiclantern #irishrevolutionaries #culturalactivism #irishhistory #protest #rcccuratedcontent - @trishlambe on Instagram
