We called this place home. I cant wait to go backpacking through this wilderness again. @lirpa___ and I caught so many fish we were giving them away to anyone we saw hiking nearby. That ended up only being 2 groups of 2. Neither of them had experience cleaning the fish and teaching them ended up being something I took a lot of pride in. Theres something special about hiking out into the country with only whats on your back. Its an even greater experience to thrive with what the land is providing. Two weeks ago, after a beautiful 4-day backcountry hiking trip, I drove home to haze and smoke. The next day, I couldn’t even see the mountains anymore from Vancouver, which really bummed me out, especially because September is my favourite month to hike. So, I toyed with the idea of escaping the smoke. I watched the forecast, the winds and the air quality reports in different regions for a few days, then I made the decision to go east and made my way towards Banff. Then, there we were in the mountains for 10 days. Unfortunately, the haze was present some days and the air quality wasn’t great for a few days, but at least I could see the mountains. It was a different way to experience them — in a mystical way that I hadn’t seen them before. I hope you all get to travel and experience the big sky country someday. The hiking is amazing, bring your bear spray and remember if you test it, the wind may work against you. There’s bars where you can carve your name in the table and throw peanuts shells on the floor. You can find this most epic rope swing and a mile away is a brewery in an old hanger where they refill your glass for free. I made some amazing friends there and i’m sure you will too. Spent half the day/night working on this yesterday 🍂🦆 I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I re drew the a-frame and changed the shape of the illustration. The color of the Lake Louise is due to small mineral deposites of glacial silt and rock flower, making it all the way down from the Lower Victoria Glacier. Lake Louise was named after Princess Louise Caroline Alberta, which is the 4th daughter of Queen Victoria. After almost 10 years in Canada, it’s hard to believe I still had never been to the Rockies! 🏔🥾 That’s one off the bucket list ☑️ Thanks to @tony_chiu_1993 & @bennise102 , @berniceho_tw and I were able to travel to Banff and Jasper to discover the natural beauty of the country that welcomed us. Driving through the valleys felt like passing between giants, from one gigantic mountain to another. The size of everything just slaps you in the face, and makes you feel so small.
